My previous place - 'Hades'. This place - 'Heaven'. The place is exceptional along with the staff. I have never experienced, anywhere, a more caring staff. In my case, in 'Hades', I was dying. Here, I have made a full recovery. I will always be very grateful for this place for giving me a future.

As a family, we were distressed and heartbroken when our father could no longer be cared for at home. Due to Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia, he was in need of 24-hour care which, as a family, were unable to provide safely. Our mother, who bore the brunt of the care, was suffering from carer burden. While our father was in emergency respite care, we began the upsetting task of viewing care homes. As a family, we found most homes lacking and could not agree. Some homes seemed caring but were old and dingy. Others were modern but lacked character. However, we were delighted to find "Meadow View". We can't thank you enough.

Thank you for the care, patience, concern and support offered to my mother during her time with you.
Each and every one of you has made mum’s time with you special. Your support and tenderness to her has been outstanding and can be recognised by the many statements of love she made to each of you.
We know that Mum’s passing will leave a space in your hearts as it does ours. But we believe that thanks to each of you, mum was able to enjoy her last years in a way that we could never have provided for and her final months in the presence of a wonderful team of caring and compassionate individuals whose only ambition was that her distress and discomfort were minimised.

Our heartfelt thanks for the kindness so generously extended to our mum and ourselves during her time with you.

We have been caring for our aunt for 7 years now, she suddenly deteriorated needing 24/7 care. We visited a few care homes and they didn't provide what we wanted for our aunt, safety, companionship, activities, care and lovely clean comfortable room and ensuite until we were recommended Meadow View. From our 1st telephone call it was sold to us. The staff have been so supportive of auntie and us, auntie is safe, has a wonderful room, lots of activities etc, she looks better than she has for months (so do we). All in all, we can't recommend Meadow View enough especially certain staff. Thank you all so much.

Meadow View is a wonderful Care Home and is the finest example of how a Care Home should be run.
The Home keeps you informed of your relatives welfare and condition and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very caring and go that extra mile to make the residents feel cared for and comfortable.
You can visit at any time and are always made welcome with a cup of tea, so what you see is what is happening all the time, so no set visiting times. During the last days of my step-father's life, he was made very comfortable, staff were sitting reading to him during his last hours and the family feels assured that his passing was very peaceful.

Thanks a million to the staff, you deserve medals.

My mother has only been a resident at Meadow View Residential Care Home since 30/09/16. Already she has been involved in activities and participated in card making and reminiscing over pictures of places she and my father used to frequently go. I feel it is important my mother takes part in the homes daily activities as I believe it is helping her to settle in which has helped me to accept the situation.

Mum has been a resident since July 2016. It was a difficult time for all the family and Meadow View Residential Care Home helped enormously with the transition. We cannot fault the facilities or the staff who show great kindness and patience. We are very reassured Mum is in a safe and caring environment.

My Aunt moved to Meadow View, as one of their first residents, after her dementia meant she could no longer stay in her own home. Right from the very beginning, it was clear to see that the home manager and staff cared greatly for their residents. I visited on numerous occasions and always found my Aunt well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The home is secure, well maintained and in a lovely setting. I was always kept up to date with all aspects of my Aunt's care and fully involved in all decision-making. Sadly my Aunt recently passed away, however, I will always be very grateful to all the staff for making her stay a happy, cared for and fulfilling one.

My mother was one of the first residents to move to Meadow View, as soon as it opened. The care she has received has been excellent and she was able to settle in quickly and happily. She has made friends with other ladies of a similar age and is very happy with the care she receives form the staff. They are kind, considerate and make her feel valued and as contented as she can be, having lived in her own home all her life. The receptionist is a breath of fresh air and encourages the residents to participate in different activities.

Mum has been in Meadow view since April and the staff are very caring and the activity staff is excellent with her work and with the residents. The general running of the home is very good and it is good to see that they are working to improve the living quality of all the residents. Overall the general running of the home is very good and it is good to see that the management are working hard to improve the home to push in to be excellent in all categories.

No longer able to live alone, my mother moved into Meadow View where she was warmly welcomed. The staff were kind and friendly and quickly gained my mothers confidence. My mother quickly changed rooms at her request. While in the home she enjoyed some "treats" she had not enjoyed for a long time: A bath rather than a shower; having her hair cut by a hairdresser; a visit from a chiropodist. I don't believe we could have found a nicer home.

We felt that the home and treatment of my husband was bordered between good and excellent, as the home was relatively new there were some teething issues which prevented an excellent rating. I would not hesitate to recommend Meadow View to anyone.

My mum moved into Meadow View recently. During what was a very stressful time for the family the staff were very helpful and couldn't have done more to help us with arrangements. I realise this is a brand new complex but never the less it is beautifully maintained, with excellent decor. It is so welcoming. The family are now happy and confident that mum is being well cared for with dignity and kindness. This home should be blue print for all other homes.

Home always seems very friendly (staff) and always clean and tidy. Staff do seem to spend a lot of time with residents. There are lots of activities going on which mum seems to be joining in with and enjoying. Although mum hasn't been at the home very long, she does seem to have settled well. Home is very secure with codes needed to get in and out. Overall we do not have any complaints.

My wife and I are impressed with the care that my father receives. My sister likes the house that our father is in. My father is not impressed with the fact that he cant have a lighter in his possession as to him being allowed to go out for a cigarette when he wants and also can't understand why he has got a door to the garden in his room, which is all locked up and not able to get out to enjoy his new garden seat outside his room.

Reply from Dionne Lowe, Home Manager at Meadow View Residential Care Home

I am so pleased to hear you and your family are happy with our home and the care your father receives. We always support our residents to sit outside and will always open the doors leading out onto the gardens if they would like to do so, however as a home where many people are living with dementia...

My husband had a week of respite care in October. He enjoyed the experience. He said the care was wonderful and the food every bit as good as a top restaurant. My friend and I have both said there is nothing we have seen or heard that gives us any concern. We were treated with real friendliness and total professionalism.

As a result my husband is going in full time in February. He is a very quiet very private man that I really wondered how he would adjust but he settled quickly in October and said that is where he wanted to go if he needed full time care.

Today we called in for an assessment and he was greeted so warmly it felt like coming home! He keeps saying how he felt so welcome.

The whole experience has been good in every way. I recommend this home to anyone without reservation. A huge pat on the back is richly deserved by the manager and all staff involved!

My husband, who suffers from Parkinson's and Vascular Dementia, spent 2 weeks respite at Meadow View. He had excellent care, and being always with me, did not seem to miss me at all in the 2 weeks. He does suffer from psoriasis if he is stressed and has patches of very discoloured skin which stemmed from a previous break in a different home. Your carers treated the area, with the appropriate ointment and told me about it straight away even though I did not mention this particular area before. When he came back home I noticed an immense improvement of the skin and no outbreaks of psoriasis anywhere, so he was very happy there and so am I , his wife and carer.

I visited my granny with my 3 young sons. We were welcomed by staff and everyone there did their utmost to look after us - giving my sons games to play with and providing tea and cake to have with granny. The place was clean and granny had been very well taken care of with dignity and respect.
