Mum has dementia, such a hard decision for anyone to put their loved one into care. Meadow VIew has enabled Mum to still live independently, but with the help and guidance she needs. She has settled in quickly and is happy. Thank you all.

My husband recently spent a week at Meadow View for respite care; he has vascular dementia. This was our first experience of respite care and I was very anxious about how he would cope. The staff I met and spoke to prior to his stay were very helpful and were able to answer all the questions I had and put me at ease.

The communal rooms are clean and bright and felt very comfortable. My husband's bedroom was spacious and had a walk-in shower and a toilet en-suite. There was an armchair and a TV in the room, so he could sit quietly if he chose to. The staff who welcomed him and settled him into his room when he arrived were excellent. They appeared to have a good understanding of his needs and I felt confident leaving my husband in their care. When I collected him at the end of the week it was obvious that he had built a good rapport with the staff who had been caring for him and I would have no hesitation in booking him in for further periods of respite care in the future.

This was my first visit to Meadow View. I was in the house for 1 and a half hours and saw only the entrance, screening room and my cousin's room. I met only two members of staff - so my knowledge and experience are limited.
I was impressed by the pleasant and professional approach of the staff who received and screened us and the staff member who served tea.

The home seems attractive and well run.

The management and staff at Meadow View Residential Care Home are very friendly and professional. There is always a warm welcome from the receptionist and the managers. The care staff are very passionate about looking after my mother and are always busy doing everything they can for her, nothing is too much trouble. The entertainments team, cleaning team, catering and maintenance teams are fantastic. Mum is always telling me how much she enjoys living at Meadow View and well she is looked after her which is a great comfort when it has been so difficult to get to see her because of the Covid restrictions. We are extremely grateful for everything they do for Mum. I have no hesitation in recommending Meadow View to anyone.

Making the decision to put my mum in a care home in the middle of a pandemic was really hard, especially when I only had a couple of days to make the decision due to the circumstances. However, it was the best decision - my mum has been so happy there. Honestly, it has been many years since I've seen her this happy. The staff are amazing, always friendly and helpful.

Although, initially being very upset and apprehensive when my mum had to move into Meadow View, I was soon reassured we had made the right choice as all the staff and the manager were so kind and understanding and went out of their way to help my mum settle in, even moving her to a room with a lovely view over the garden, which she loves. The care and kindness have continued in almost two years since my mum moved in. It is such as relief to know Mum is safe and being so well looked after. Each and every one of the staff has been so compassionate and treated Mum with dignity and respect. They have kept me regularly updated regarding Mum's health and any concerns when she has been unwell, and the kindness shown to me has also helped me to cope with the sadness of Mum's illness. I also cannot praise the care home enough for the way they have dealt with the Coronavirus pandemic, and the care they have given to the residents during this time.

My mother was a resident at Meadowview from 2016 through to when she sadly passed on 23rd January this year. I felt she was always safe, well cared for and all the staff contributed to making her stay as enjoyable, stimulated and interesting as they possibly could by providing different activities. Mum always enjoyed her food and residing at Meadow View suited her very well, the dining room is delightful and the food, good and varied with a nice ambience providing an excellent opportunity for the all-important social interaction. The lounge also, an excellent meeting place to catch up over a cup of tea and cake.

The manager, well where do I start? Sadly with Coronavirus, his job became incredibly hard but due to his absolute dedication, together with that of his staff who all speak so highly of him, they got through it thankfully although of course, it is an ongoing problem albeit hopefully to a lesser degree. I can only thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

I cannot praise or recommend this nursing home highly enough. Ever since my dad as been there he has been treated with love respect and dignity. My father caught Covid and passed away on January 25th. Through the 2 weeks of him having Covid, I was updated 3 times a day on his condition and FaceTime by a care assistant who showed love passion. The team leader and care assistants were angels as my dad went through a bad spell and they looked after him and the love they gave my dad is second to none. Big respect to the manager for giving my dad time to adjust and great support from the deputy manager and receptionist and all the staff. I shall remember the laughs and tears, thank you, Meadow View for making my dad happy and now at peace.

I would highly recommend Meadow View Care Home, the care all staff gave to my mum in her last year of life was second to none, she couldn't have been better cared for. The room she was in was very light and airy, she had clean clothes every day and there was never a bad odour in the room. all in all, I was very impressed with all the staff and procedures put in place to make mums final year comfortable.

I am most grateful to the manager and all the staff at Meadow View Residential Care Home for the wonderful manner in which they have looked after my husband and all the residents during the lockdown period and kept us informed about their wellbeing. In addition, this week they kindly made it possible for a distanced visit on the occasion of our birthdays which are only three days apart, the first time I had seen him since early Feburayr and he looked and sounded very well. So, many thanks to them all.

Dad has been here for 10/11 months. Very slow to settle as this wasn't really what he wanted. Finally, I think he is getting used to it. Unfortunately, the lockdown has caused him a lot of distress and isolation being completely separated from family. The staff has been amazing with the forced situation, giving a lot of time to help out. Visiting has been half-hour slots and very limited outside under the gazebo. Windy and noisy with loud traffic noise and building site noise. Management has listened and been very understanding of our frustrations and bent over backward to help us stay connected. No cases of COVID-19 means everyone has done an amazing job. Just desperate for him to get back to the real world again and out of confinement, safe and well.

The management and staff have done a superb job of looking after my mother and all residents during this extremely difficult period with Covid-19. They are very professional caring and have kept the residents and themselves safe. I couldn't ask for better care for my mother who reached 100 years on June 16th was given a great celebration by Meadow View despite all the restrictions.

Excellent care during lockdown - remained virus-free and the staff have gone above and beyond their duties to keep the residents safe and happy. The staff are BRILLIANT! They show care to us relatives too during this difficult time.

We are now able to visit, albeit socially distanced and the staff have shown much compassion to their residents' needs.

Review from Julie M (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 1 July 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The family of resident (three children and one daughter in law) has been trying to learn more about the conditions she is living in. We appreciate COVID makes things different. Considering we were unable to actually visit the home, information about rooms and services were not readily forthcoming (no plans of rooms), communication has been difficult with a delayed contract, outlining what is and is not included in the package, poor communication with the phone more likely than not being unanswered.

Worrying lack of action and information about complaints of pain by my mother-in-law concerning her knee.

Today one of her sons, tried to reschedule an appointment to see his mother from 11:30 25 June (which he was told was the first available appointment) to an earlier time which another son, said were available from 20th June.

We have not seen her for months. Until her move to Meadow View we have been confident about her care but not now. Can't answer questions.
