With a devoted and long-serving team, many of whom have worked there for over 15 and even 20 years, The Rosary has a special, family feel. And while the building and the gardens are stunning, it’s the high standard of care which makes it really stand out.
As well as providing nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team offer respite care breaks which can be pre-booked in advance, as well as day care.
The team are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s unique Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled, a sense of belonging, continuity, achievement, purpose, significance and security. Using this, they work with their residents to live life to the full and achieve their goals.
The residents enjoy some fantastic activities, from baking and flower arranging, to ‘virtually’ cycling to destinations around the globe from the comfort of home using Motiview, an incredible piece of technology where they peddle through their chosen destination on a static bike, with a special screen to enjoy the views.
With a hairdressing salon, residents enjoy weekly visits from a mobile hairdresser, as well as pamper sessions, with manicures and massages.
The secure gardens are spectacular, with raised beds for residents to enjoy growing their own. This summer they have grown everything from herbs to carrots and tomatoes. The residents have harvested their produce, which has been used in the kitchens where the chef creates delicious home-cooked meals every day, as well as home baking for afternoon tea.
Every Christmas the home’s award-winning maintenance man transforms the gardens into a spectacular winter wonderland, with thousands of festive lights.
Many of the ensuite bedrooms, as well as the main lounges, overlook the Quantock Hills, while others overlook Durleigh Reservoir, where you can see the boats in the summer.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're deeply saddened to hear of your experience during such a difficult time. Following a review of the circumstances, we understand there may have been a misunderstanding around how and when communication was expected to take place. We recognise how important clear and compassionate communication is at moments like these and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns and offer reassurance. This does not reflect the standard of care and support we strive to provide.
Regarding an opticians visit - Everyone is really helpful as always. As we can't get mum to the shop, we appreciate them coming to The Rosary. We are aware of the extra work this may mean in making this happen. Staff are friendly and ready to help in anyway.

3 friends visited on a Thursday afternoon. Lounge was very full ready for playing bingo so we were taken into dining room where we could sit quietly and all talk together. We were also given a cup of tea, and enjoyed the visit.

From the moment my mum arrived, it was clear this is not just a care facility but a true home where residents are treated with true love, care and attention by every member of the staff.
Even though my mum had dementia they always took the time to learn what her specific needs were even if she couldn't make it known to them herself.
The facilities are clean, welcoming and designed with comfort and safety in mind,
There was always activities going on throughout the day from therapy dogs, visits from the local nursery school, spa days, cooking, arts and crafts as well as themed days, the list goes on, including out door events in the summer months.
The residents can take part in as much or as little they want to do, and my mum was often joined by a member of the team for a cup of tea and chat in her room if she wasn't up to joining in.
Thank you to all of the staff for looking after my mum x

It was a privilege to care for her.
Mum is being well cared for and is comfortable in her room. A few minor issues have always been dealt with when addressed. Mum prefers to stay in her room as she feels safer; the lounge area makes her feel anxious. She has a lovely garden view which she enjoys looking out on to.

Mum only spent 10 months at The Rosary and whilst she was quite agitated when she first moved in, she did settle and always seemed calm and relaxed when I visited her. The staff there were lovely and genuinely caring and mum always spoke very highly of them. Although mum didn't like to socialise the communal areas were bright and welcoming and I often saw activities going on. I would like to thank everyone for taking such good care of mum during the last months of her life and for being so supportive and sympathetic at the end.

Overall I am very happy with the care and accommodation provided for my mother. Initially one activity day care provided which soon increased to two days. Mum was then admitted for respite for several weeks. Unfortunately Mum was assessed as requiring residential dementia which according to social worker The Rosary Nursing Home did not meet the criteria hence funding would not be granted. Reluctantly alternative care home was sought and found.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate your kind words about the care your mother received during her time with us. We wish her well in her new home and thank you for taking the time to write this review.
We thought that the dinner was very nice we had a great day, thanks, what more do you want us to say? Mum looked very good. Tell the member of staff on the front door to cheer up, very rude, looks like she didn't want to be there, everyone else was absolutely fantastic. Great day, many thanks.

They took the time to learn my mum's preferences and quirks, greatly enhancing her quality of life. The facilities are clean, welcoming and designed with comfort and safety in mind, offering everything from a beautiful garden to cosy communal areas. The meals are nutritious, delicious and tailored to dietary needs. My mum loves the meals. To anyone seeking exceptional care with dignity and joy, I wholeheartedly recommend The Rosary.
A helpful tip: label all clothing, as items may get mixed up. Clip-on name tags are a great solution.
Thank you to the entire team for bringing peace of mind for me and happiness to my mum's life.
