I do not know anything about the management, cost or facilities. I have been visiting my friend for a number of years in this care home and have found the staff to be friendly and caring and ready to listen and act on any concerns which have been mentioned. So much depends on the numbers of staff on duty. This is not an easy task in any way to care for loved ones who have severe dementia and a lot depends on the mentors who have the responsibility to teach the new beginners and show them carefully what is needed.

Following a spell in hospital, my 79-year-old husband has been recuperating for the last six weeks at The Rosary. As he is on a large number of pills (medication) and eye-drops so his care is not simple. I have found the staff at all levels, helpful, kind and competent during this and previous stays. There are also interesting things available during afternoons (such as music entertainer).

My father was taken ill and admitted to hospital. He was my mother's carer and as a result, we had to find somewhere for my mother to stay as she could not look after herself at home. Social Services were contacted and the Rosary was recommended to us. On arrival, we were met by the manager who welcomed my mother and took us to her room which is en-suite and has a window overlooking the Quantock hills. She was made very welcome and shown where things were and how to get assistance. Due to circumstances, her stay has been made permanent. She is being very well looked after and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals are very good and if required relatives are able to have lunch on site during their visit if pre-booked at a small cost. Mother is transported by the home to hospital appointments when needed with a carer to look after her. Activity days are provided for residents to take part in if they wish. I would like to say a very big thank you to all staff.

I have several experiences of friends and loved ones being in The Rosary, some good and some not so. The negative ones were several years ago and I must say that I think there have been many great improvements made in recent years. My husbands grandmother has recently passed away after being there for several years and we have nothing but praise for her stay there. I also visit a very good friend there now and I would say some of the staff go above and beyond with their care and attention but unfortunately a few could do better.
