Mum went in for a five night respite stay, she was left over two and a half hours before changing her and wet her trousers which were soaked from top to bottom. She then developed a UTI and her sore on the side became much worse.
The equipment initially used hurt her but they did manage to find the correct equipment.
This was our first time of putting Mum in care for us to have a rest which in the end caused more stress.

However, the staff were lovely, I just think more care and attention is needed.

Overall, the home is very good. The area of improvement needed would be the laundry - lost, even though labelled and stuffed into the wardrobe, not folded or hung neatly. The corridors smell strongly of urine. These are the two things that let the home down.

Although the staff are lovely and try their best, there is always a lot of poor practice that goes on due to being poorly managed and by staff not being valued or listened to. Staff try their best but are not supported. Things don't always get reported to families and when they do they are not always accurate descriptions of what happened.

I am very satisfied with the care that my husband receives from the nursing and care staff. He seems settled and as contented as is possible, in his condition. It is a comfort to me that I was able to get him a place in the Rosary. Staff are helpful and friendly to visitors. They are trying their best with the extra burden of work from tests and more complicated admittance procedures, due to covid precautions. I do find it disappointing that staffing is not adequate to enable ironing of residents' clothing after the necessarily fairly brutal laundering required to ensure hygiene. I think the manager and staff do an excellent job but am less convinced in that from "Head Office". I think there should be a programme of visits to see what work is really like on the front line! If I worked on a dementia unit I would not think it much of a thank you "for being a hero" to be told to dress in a superhero costume at work for a week!

My mother came to The Rosary in the midst of the pandemic and was made to feel welcome and at home immediately. The management of this nursing home is excellent as is the care given by nurses, carers and ancillary staff. This means that my mother's family have the reassurance that she is in the right place for her and that she is safe.

We have been very happy with the care and support our father has received. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is of a high standard with good quality food.

Thank you to everybody for giving me the opportunity to be able to be his daughter, not his carer, and peace of mind he is being looked after and cared for in a lovely environment by some lovely people and most importantly, SAFE.

The management and staff at The Rosary are doing an amazing job in this present crisis. My very frequent telephone calls to the home have been received with cheerfulness and openness that has been very reassuring. The team have enabled me to stay in touch with my mum via the telephone and in very recent weeks, a very well organised visiting arrangement is in place. The Rosary team are very united, hardworking, caring, considerate and competent. Thank you so very much to you all.

My overall experience of my mums care during this whole coronavirus endemic has been nothing but absolutely marvellous, their care and consideration to all the relatives and families have been exemplary across the board from nursing, care, catering and social activities. In such difficult times, I've been kept in the loop on a regular basis and still managed to have time with mum via social media. Faultless.

My brother has been living at The Rosary for about ten years and never complained. But me, I'm often moaning about something less than perfect, but in truth, the staff are fantastic; cheerful and hard-working. Only 4 stars out of 5 (Never let 'em think they can't do better).

When my wife went to the home we were not sure what to expect as we had heard various stories from people. But it was the best ever move we could have done. My wife is looked after and treated with the greatest respect by every member of staff from manager to floor cleaner. They treat every visitor the same, lavishing cups of tea or coffee upon them. Food is excellent and if she does not like something they will do something else. Nursing staff and carers have respect but have plenty of banter with the patients. Brilliant! This place is the best.

The care plan wasn’t even looked at before my Mother-in-law arrived. She needed an air mattress and she had to wait for them to find one, in her wheelchair and on her oxygen. There wasn’t a commode in her room, that was also on the plan and when it arrived it took ME 20 minutes to clear the faeces off it, also she had to phone me a number of times as she had been waiting for her pain killers over 2 hours, she only went in for respite but now needs full-time care and blankly refuses to go back there. I also think the room she was in was very small. She is far happier with the home she is now in.
