Dalby Court has a very warm, family feel the moment you walk through the door. The team, some of whom have been there for over 10 and even 15 years, provide residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

The team follow Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to be truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of security, achievement, belonging, continuity, significance and purpose. They work closely with residents, to help them to achieve their goals.

Activities are a huge part of life in the home. The maintenance man is part of a male voice chair so, inspired by some of the residents who shared his passion for music, he started the home’s own choir!

There is a salon for those who like a spot of pampering, and the home, which is run by leading not-for-profit care provider Sanctuary Care, has its own bar, the Coulby Inn. Residents enjoy games and quizzes with their favourite tipple. The room can also be used for private family celebrations.

The beautiful, large gardens are the perfect spot to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time. Surrounded by wheelchair- friendly pathways, they are bursting with flowers and have a central water feature.

The residents enjoy afternoon tea in the gardens, with home-baked cakes served daily. And all the food is home-cooked by the home’s chef, who makes everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to the residents’ firm favourite – fish and chip Friday! The residents are also involved in their ‘Grow Your Own Way’ project, nurturing produce from seed, which will be used by the chef!

And there are so many other activities to enjoy, from musical performances and animal visits, to community trips, church services, gentle exercise sessions and gardening.

There are relaxing lounges and dining rooms, as well as a quiet lounge and conservatory and spacious, beautifully decorated bedrooms.

Poor response to emergency button. Difficulty obtaining button when required. Food V. Good and plentiful. Body/shower facilities excellent. Occasional confusion with pharmacy in regard to pills/eye drops etc... unessary use of paracetamol.

Since my uncle went to stay at Dalby Court he has received excellent care and support throughout. His dignity, to my knowledge, is always observed throughout his care. The staff are very professional, warm and welcoming when you meet them, management always around to listen and resolve any issues quickly.
His room is bright and clean. The menu is varied and my uncle has said he enjoys his food, drinks on request throughout the day. The activities staff put a great deal of effort into activities and a weekly timetable is offered. I would recommend Dalby Court.

My father-in-law was initially in respite for 6 weeks from 6th June 2024. He then became a permanent resident. He is so content in Dalby and has really improved his mental health - also his physical health too - although he needs a walker to be mobile. He really likes all the staff. They are so friendly
nd professional and if he wants something he only needs to ask/suggest once and it's done. From the top employees through the ranks the staff are all amazing. He really enjoys the food too - thankfully he has now gained all the weight he lost through illness in 2024 - in fact we've had to buy him bigger trousers!!!

Having decided that Mam needed 24 hour care we researched homes in the local area and Dalby Court was the only one that had availability at the time. However, on viewing the home, we came to realise that Mam would be well cared for in a safe environment. Despite suffering three falls in the first week,
the staff always acted promptly and contacted me as soon as possible. Although Mam was reluctant to eat, the staff always encouraged her to do so. She was only there a short time, but our family felt supported by the staff and management and were always kept well informed.

When we realised mom needed 24 hour care, Dalby Court was the only care home with a space for her. When I went to view the home and the room I felt secure in the knowledge that she would be well looked after and safe. Although she was never happy while staying there this was due to her deteriorating
condition and no fault of the staff. We wished she had been well enough to appreciate the staff. Mum was only there for a short time and we were very upset at the time however we felt very supported by the staff who helped us deal with some difficult situations.

My nana was upstairs for 3 weeks for respite/rehab following a 4 week stay in hospital. She'd had such poor care in hospital coming out with multiple problems to her skin and diabetes.
I was met with care and warmth every day of her stay - the leadership team liaised with the doctors and got her the
help she needed and she was looking and feeling better within 2 days!
She developed cellulitis whilst here and this was dealt with promptly. The facilities are great, I loved seeing her with her hair done by the hairdresser! Nana enjoyed the food.
Nana was getting miserable towards the end of her stay as she was missing home but staff always made time for her and she was respected and well looked after.
I can't thank the staff enough for their help getting my nana back to herself. I'd have no problem recommending this home to anyone needing this care. Keep up the great work!

I came into Respite Care for a week to give my wife a break from her caring duties. I was well looked after and all my needs a were taken care of. Staff were lovely and the meals were very good. I had everything I needed for my week stay, and have no hesitation in coming back when my wife needs a another

As an elderly (86 year old) man charged with having sole care of an older (97 years at death in November 2024) man suffering from dementia I needed all the help I could get. This I got from Dalby Court Residential Care Home. He asked to go into this care home and I found it to be ideal. He was at all
times well looked after and when my own health was poor I had no worries regarding his care. The staff went beyond their normal duties to help and I am grateful for this.
