Dalby Court has a very warm, family feel the moment you walk through the door. The team, some of whom have been there for over 10 and even 15 years, provide residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

The team follow Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to be truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of security, achievement, belonging, continuity, significance and purpose. They work closely with residents, to help them to achieve their goals.

Activities are a huge part of life in the home. The maintenance man is part of a male voice chair so, inspired by some of the residents who shared his passion for music, he started the home’s own choir!

There is a salon for those who like a spot of pampering, and the home, which is run by leading not-for-profit care provider Sanctuary Care, has its own bar, the Coulby Inn. Residents enjoy games and quizzes with their favourite tipple. The room can also be used for private family celebrations.

The beautiful, large gardens are the perfect spot to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time. Surrounded by wheelchair- friendly pathways, they are bursting with flowers and have a central water feature.

The residents enjoy afternoon tea in the gardens, with home-baked cakes served daily. And all the food is home-cooked by the home’s chef, who makes everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to the residents’ firm favourite – fish and chip Friday! The residents are also involved in their ‘Grow Your Own Way’ project, nurturing produce from seed, which will be used by the chef!

And there are so many other activities to enjoy, from musical performances and animal visits, to community trips, church services, gentle exercise sessions and gardening.

There are relaxing lounges and dining rooms, as well as a quiet lounge and conservatory and spacious, beautifully decorated bedrooms.

From Australia. Only in the UK for 2 weeks. Sister's room could be improved. I understand she is being moved to a new room. Would be nice to see my sister taken out for a wheelchair walk or other excursion in a bus or the like.

I live alone and required cancer treatment so I booked a respite bed for the period of treatment. It was so good the management and all the staff were so supportive and kind that my stay was like being on holiday. My daily visits to the hospital were helped by staff organising my meals and on return
making sure I was comfortable and attending to all my requests. My bedroom was kept very clean also the
en-suite. Well done Dalby Court. Thank you.

My mother is a resident in Dalby Court it has been a difficult time with decisions that have to be made for her safety. I have had so much support from the carers and the clerical staff. Important events have taken place in the family ie a family wedding. They advised me what to do. The staff ensured
that my mam was up and ready and presentable for her to enjoy her day. She totally enjoyed her time with family and once tired we returned her and the staff supported her on return. These times are important to us as a family and are happy she can join in. She can't remember the day but enjoyed it at the time and we have the photos to last forever. Thank you team at Dalby Court.

My mother since entering the facility has been so much more happy in every way.

My mum went to Dalby Court for a respite period and stayed for another two weeks. The staff were so kind and supportive of my mum and were always available to speak to us as relatives. We felt fully supported by all concerned at the care home in what was a very difficult period of our lives.

Staff are really good with Dad and his care. Senior members always let me know about Dad's condition, very informative. Dad has settled and likes the staff, has banter and a laugh. The home has a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Activities always going on.

A brilliant afternoon spent at Dalby Court Summer Garden Party. Excellent entertainment enjoyed with residents, families and staff. Well done to all the team. Mam has been here for three years and feels safe and is very settled and thoroughly enjoys these events.

On Thursday July 13th they had two male entertainers, they were excellent. Activities coordinator and staff worked very hard before and after. Activities coordinator and other staff members danced and sang with residents who loved it. We were served hot dogs with onions, sandwiches and strawberries
with cream, which were enjoyed by all. On Saturday July 15th the care home held a summer fare, the weather was awful, wet and windy so the activities coordinator and her staff set it up inside, they had a lot of stalls and games. The staff had their work cut out but they worked very hard together.

Dalby Court Residential Care Home is a home from home environment. The staff are approachable, kind and caring. After caring for Dad at home it was really difficult making the decision for Dalby Court to be his long term home. The relief of being able to rest at home knowing he is well looked after

I praise and commend Dalby Court Residential Care Home. Its staff are caring, the accommodation is very comfortable and the meals excellent. The staff deserve special commendation for their very caring attitude. One 'grumble' however: response time, during the day, to the call button is often very long.
The blame for this, however, lies not with the staff, but with the shortage of them. Their very caring attitude is maintained, despite this shortage, and, no doubt, low wage. I found my stay was made very tolerable thanks to their kindness and attention.

Thank you for caring for my husband. We were devastated when we could no longer care for him at home as his condition deteriorated and can't believe how fortunate we've been to have him so well looked after in Dalby Court. The staff can't do enough for us or him. A huge thank you to every single member
of staff from domestics, laundry staff, chefs, carers, team leaders and management. Every one of you does a fantastic job! We never thought we would be able to leave him in the care of anybody else, but we can kiss him goodnight without the guilt we felt, knowing he is so well looked after. We are forever grateful.

A Spacious and welcoming home. We are always made to feel welcome and able to pop in and ring at any time. Dad is settled and extremely well cared for by the amazing staff. Mam has been in Dalby Court for three and a half years and downstairs in the building for dementia residents for two and a half years. Well cared for, plenty of room to walk around. Caring staff and management. Clean and tidy, see cleaners around on visits. My mother's room is occasionally clean and
tidy too. Food always looks nutritious and healthy and appetising.

I was disappointed with the home in general My relative resided here for two years and despite raising my concerns, nothing really changed. Care was at best adequate but often my relative was unclean and appeared uncared for. Incidents occurred at times that made me question their safety. Activities
were fair. Communication between carers, management and relatives was poor, particularly in relation to health care. No information from the home was passed on to the relatives, even on enquiry. Often questions could not be answered and were not followed up. I would not generally recommend this home.

My Dad had a fall and broke his hip and was offered a place in Dalby Court to recuperate. We visited him every day for eight weeks and given the difficult circumstances he found himself in, the overall experience seemed to be excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, efficient and caring towards
Dad.
Getting the building temperature right for everyone must be difficult; but it was always very warm with the radiators on all the time, even with all the windows open. If the temperature could be lowered I’m sure it would benefit everyone and save money!
