If my aunt is happy, then I am happy! She eats well and loves the food. She is well turned out and has fun with the staff and carers! She is happy, therefore so am I!

My mum went to Dalby Court for a respite period and stayed for another two weeks. The staff were so kind and supportive of my mum and were always available to speak to us as relatives. We felt fully supported by all concerned at the care home in what was a very difficult period of our lives.

Staff are really good with Dad and his care. Senior members always let me know about Dad's condition, very informative. Dad has settled and likes the staff, has banter and a laugh. The home has a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Activities always going on.

A brilliant afternoon spent at Dalby Court Summer Garden Party. Excellent entertainment enjoyed with residents, families and staff. Well done to all the team. Mam has been here for three years and feels safe and is very settled and thoroughly enjoys these events.

On Thursday July 13th they had two male entertainers, they were excellent. Activities coordinator and staff worked very hard before and after. Activities coordinator and other staff members danced and sang with residents who loved it. We were served hot dogs with onions, sandwiches and strawberries with cream, which were enjoyed by all. On Saturday July 15th the care home held a summer fare, the weather was awful, wet and windy so the activities coordinator and her staff set it up inside, they had a lot of stalls and games. The staff had their work cut out but they worked very hard together.

Dalby Court Residential Care Home is a home from home environment. The staff are approachable, kind and caring. After caring for Dad at home it was really difficult making the decision for Dalby Court to be his long term home. The relief of being able to rest at home knowing he is well looked after and cared for.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Dalby Court Residential Care Home

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review for Dalby Court. We know how difficult the decision to move into permanent care can be, so we are so glad that you have such relief and peace of mind with your dad in our care. Best wishes.

I praise and commend Dalby Court Residential Care Home. Its staff are caring, the accommodation is very comfortable and the meals excellent. The staff deserve special commendation for their very caring attitude. One 'grumble' however: response time, during the day, to the call button is often very long. The blame for this, however, lies not with the staff, but with the shortage of them. Their very caring attitude is maintained, despite this shortage, and, no doubt, low wage. I found my stay was made very tolerable thanks to their kindness and attention.

Thank you for caring for my husband. We were devastated when we could no longer care for him at home as his condition deteriorated and can't believe how fortunate we've been to have him so well looked after in Dalby Court. The staff can't do enough for us or him. A huge thank you to every single member of staff from domestics, laundry staff, chefs, carers, team leaders and management. Every one of you does a fantastic job! We never thought we would be able to leave him in the care of anybody else, but we can kiss him goodnight without the guilt we felt, knowing he is so well looked after. We are forever grateful.

A Spacious and welcoming home. We are always made to feel welcome and able to pop in and ring at any time. Dad is settled and extremely well cared for by the amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our numerous questions are always answered and our numerous requests are always dealt with promptly. We could not think of a more special and caring environment for dad to be in. Dad is treated with the utmost respect and his dignity is always respected. Thank you.

Mam has been in Dalby Court for three and a half years and downstairs in the building for dementia residents for two and a half years. Well cared for, plenty of room to walk around. Caring staff and management. Clean and tidy, see cleaners around on visits. My mother's room is occasionally clean and tidy too. Food always looks nutritious and healthy and appetising.

I was disappointed with the home in general My relative resided here for two years and despite raising my concerns, nothing really changed. Care was at best adequate but often my relative was unclean and appeared uncared for. Incidents occurred at times that made me question their safety. Activities were fair. Communication between carers, management and relatives was poor, particularly in relation to health care. No information from the home was passed on to the relatives, even on enquiry. Often questions could not be answered and were not followed up. I would not generally recommend this home.

My Dad had a fall and broke his hip and was offered a place in Dalby Court to recuperate. We visited him every day for eight weeks and given the difficult circumstances he found himself in, the overall experience seemed to be excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, efficient and caring towards Dad.

Getting the building temperature right for everyone must be difficult; but it was always very warm with the radiators on all the time, even with all the windows open. If the temperature could be lowered I’m sure it would benefit everyone and save money!

All kinds of activities are created for and engaged. The residents are asked their opinions about which activities they prefer, and care is taken to listen to them. In particular, the outing to the Unicorn Centre was informative and well-planned, the assistants knew all about their charges and named each one and their characteristics. The place is well managed and very interesting and well worth a visit. We were also given tea and cakes and well taken care of. Future visits are going to be arranged and should be as successful as this!
