The team at Briggs Lodge share Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives, which is centred around the six senses people need to be happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, significance and security. Following their Enriching Lives framework, staff work closely with residents to meet their senses and achieve their goals.

The home has beautiful spaces for the residents to enjoy, with a warm and homely feel. The spacious bedrooms have walk-in wet rooms. Some of the ground floor bedrooms have doors opening out onto the gardens.

There is a vintage tearoom, which has a balcony overlooking the gardens, where residents can enjoy tea and home-baked cakes with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time. And the garden room and library are also lovely spaces to enjoy.

The home has a cinema room, for movie nights and a hair and beauty salon, complete with a nail bar, for those who like a spot of pampering!

There are light and airy lounge and dining rooms, where residents can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, prepared by the chef, as well as afternoon tea, with home-baked cakes served daily.

Outside, the garden is a lovely area to relax in, with wheelchair-friendly pathways and raised beds, for those who enjoy a spot of gardening.

Briggs Lodge is situated in the heart of Wiltshire, in the pretty market town of Devizes, with excellent transport links, it is a short walk from the local shops and a museum.

Briggs Lodge are brill,my nan was there until she passed not that long ago and were superb in her last days. Staff came in when at end of each shift to say goodbye just incase she didnt make the night. They were so caring and helped the family.

My mother was at Briggs Lodge for 3 1/2 years. She was always treated with care and the utmost respect at all times. All staff were incredible and worked extremely well as a team, nothing ever seemed too much trouble. As a visiting relative the care and friendship from all staff was above and beyond
mere duty it felt like a second home. Can't praise them enough.

All staff have been and are professional, caring and helpful. I find them all very approachable and willing to help with questions or if I need help with my husband. They always pay him attention when asked or voluntarily if they see he needs help or even just in passing. They have called me on a couple
of occasions , perhaps when he was unwell or if they needed information, and always respond to any questions or help I might need..
The fact that he is happy is a great relief to me and I would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone there for their continued support and care both to him, and to me.

My mum has been at Briggs since February 2025 and the care she receives is great and she seams happy. Mum has made friends with the staff and also some of the residents. The only thing lacking is the ability to have trips out each month - I believe though a minibus is being sought!

Office staff are excellent and supportive


Some care staff are wonderful at their jobs


Lots of facilities available but rarely see anyone using them.

Briggs Lodge took care of my Mother during her residency which was over 2 years.
Their care and dedication was second to none. My sister and I were kept up to date on her health and we were informed of any issues.
During Mums last few days after her health deteriorated they gave her the love and
respect and dignity she deserved.
We cannot thank them enough for their care and dedication.
The staff are wonderful, from the nurses and carers to the reception and admin staff.

Generally happy with care provided.
Staff are always pleasant.
When I visited Mum in December:
1. Her bra had not been correctly fitted.
2. Her commode had some excrement in the bowl.
3. The second floor, where Mum's room is, still smells of urine.

The staff have been very helpful, understanding and supportive of my sister. All the staff are friendly and have made my sister's stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible.

Overall I have no complaints with Briggs Lodge, all the staff are friendly and attentive. We never had an issues with any aspect of my mother's care and only moved her to bring her nearer to my home, otherwise she would still be in residence.

Following a difficult time when I realised I could no longer care for my husband at home, he became a resident in Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home, almost twelve months ago, receiving care in the dementia unit. He is very happy and settled, getting very professional care from all the staff.
He enjoys the food which offers excellent quality and choice.
The staff are quick to respond to any health problems and keep me well informed if problems arise. They do not hesitate to liaise with the local GP surgery should extra care be needed.
I feel all his health and social needs are very well met with plenty of activities helping him to engage with residents and staff alike.
I would not hesitate to recommend Briggs Lodge for anyone requiring respite or long term care.

The care provided for my husband has been very good. The atmosphere in the home is pleasant and everyone seems to be happy in what they do. The food is good and plentiful. As someone else has observed, a weak link seems to be in the relationship with the GP, and depends on the feedback between the home
and the surgery. There can be long waits to get or change medication and depends on the Nurse Practitioner who visits once a week normally. Similarly, the HQ efficiency is poor. I still have not received a formal request for any funds three months into my husband's stay! One thing that could easily be changed is the very irritating 'phone system. I don't need all the advertising and would like to be able to talk directly to the home.

The care has been amazing as my mum isn't mobile and they seem to look after her very well, she is very happy with everything which makes this process so much easier for the family. The rooms are modern with en-suite facilities and very comfortable.

Mum entered Briggs Lodge on the 3rd of October but sadly died on the 8th of November. Her final weeks were happy and she was well cared for by all members of the staff. She particularly enjoyed her meals!
As a family, we were treated with kindness and respect at all times, especially at the end. Briggs
Lodge is a bright, friendly and happy place. 10/10.

My father has lived in Briggs Lodge since January, and I have nothing but praise for the staff and the care my father receives. I live locally, so am able to visit often, once or twice a week and always receive a friendly greeting. Although my father hasn't made any close friends at Briggs Lodge, he
does enjoy speaking with the staff, who appear to always be attentive and sensitive to how he is feeling. I have no hesitation in recommending Briggs Lodge to others. Excellent care delivered with a human face. Thank you.
