The team at Briggs Lodge share Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives, which is centred around the six senses people need to be happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, significance and security. Following their Enriching Lives framework, staff work closely with residents to meet their senses and achieve their goals.

The home has beautiful spaces for the residents to enjoy, with a warm and homely feel. The spacious bedrooms have walk-in wet rooms. Some of the ground floor bedrooms have doors opening out onto the gardens.

There is a vintage tearoom, which has a balcony overlooking the gardens, where residents can enjoy tea and home-baked cakes with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time. And the garden room and library are also lovely spaces to enjoy.

The home has a cinema room, for movie nights and a hair and beauty salon, complete with a nail bar, for those who like a spot of pampering!

There are light and airy lounge and dining rooms, where residents can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, prepared by the chef, as well as afternoon tea, with home-baked cakes served daily.

Outside, the garden is a lovely area to relax in, with wheelchair-friendly pathways and raised beds, for those who enjoy a spot of gardening.

Briggs Lodge is situated in the heart of Wiltshire, in the pretty market town of Devizes, with excellent transport links, it is a short walk from the local shops and a museum.

I don't believe any care home will be as we first imagine - there are so many criteria to meet and satisfy, not least those of family members. Care and safety are for me the primary concern - if they are good, then my mind is at rest and my family member will be happy and as content as they can be
in the home. Briggs achieve this with excellent staff and a listening approach. With so many individual needs to meet, I think they do extremely well, albeit it is difficult to measure during COVID when one is unable to visit inside the home.

Very well-appointed home, very clean, en-suites and laundry excellent. Caring staff. Cinema and cafe very good idea also garden room. Good to have accessible outdoor space. Good range of activities and visits to home.
More space around bed would be appreciated. Footstools in the lounge too high and
heavy for residents to move, TV remotes too small to be easily used. Could these be rectified?
Overall very pleased.

General care good, however severe shortage of staff, especially when two required to assist a resident. Also an extreme shortage of equipment, such as hoists and wheelchairs.
Staff excellent but constantly under pressure due to shortage.

Staff excellent and extremely caring. Nothing too much trouble, polite and helpful. Food seems to be excellent. Room airy and light, with a lovely view of the gardens and surrounding trees. Briggs Lodge is a very nice residential home, but with insufficient parking for such a rural area.
