Very hard to grasp as people came and went and soon found out no males to talk to, so I just had to push myself in with the ladies and even took exercises when no activity lady here, the ladies liked it.

When I dealt with the paper work for my dear mother in January I was treated very well, everyone that I met were very friendly. I am very happy with the care that my dear mother is receiving at all levels and to this day my feelings have not changed. When visiting you are greeted at the main door by a very pleasant young lady and you are given a Covid test before you may enter, if your test is negative then you are escorted to your selected resident. Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home is a home to be proud of.

My relative took up residence just before the first lockdown so we cannot say too much about the running of the home as we have not been able to visit for much of the time. We have been in regular contact and have been impressed by the information, support and assistance the staff at Briggs Lodge have provided to the family as well as the care and attention they have given to our loved one.

I couldn’t ask for a kinder, more caring nursing home for my aunt. The interaction with myself is excellent and the staff go out of their way to help at all times. My relative is extremely comfortable and happy here.

All of the family is delighted with the care of our relative at Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home. During the 18 months she has lived there, she has been treated with kindness and respect. The care, catering, laundry, and cleaning services are of an exceptionally high standard. My mother often says how lovely the staff are and is very happy. Briggs Lodge has worked hard, during the pandemic, to ensure contact with family is maintained by offering a range of visiting and virtual visiting options. We are very grateful that the care home has worked hard to keep us in touch. Finally, the accommodation and facilities are wonderful and have provided Mum with a lovely environment.

At 96 my mother fractured her hip and had a fall. Sadly, we had to make the decision for Mum to go into a care home. For the family, it was important to find the most suitable accommodation.
After one year I decided her first home was not the right place. Searching, I came across Briggs Lodge, Devizes. This care home made us feel like part of the family. Warm, comforting and always supporting. Staff were excellent, the room clean, food good, with a coffee room and cinema. It is just like a hotel.

Mum passed away in her 100th year. If you are like us and having to make a hard decision – we recommend Briggs Lodge, Devizes.

I don't believe any care home will be as we first imagine - there are so many criteria to meet and satisfy, not least those of family members. Care and safety are for me the primary concern - if they are good, then my mind is at rest and my family member will be happy and as content as they can be in the home. Briggs achieve this with excellent staff and a listening approach. With so many individual needs to meet, I think they do extremely well, albeit it is difficult to measure during COVID when one is unable to visit inside the home.

Overall Experience
Very well-appointed home, very clean, en-suites and laundry excellent. Caring staff. Cinema and cafe very good idea also garden room. Good to have accessible outdoor space. Good range of activities and visits to home.
More space around bed would be appreciated. Footstools in the lounge too high and heavy for residents to move, TV remotes too small to be easily used. Could these be rectified?

Overall very pleased.

General care good, however severe shortage of staff, especially when two required to assist a resident. Also an extreme shortage of equipment, such as hoists and wheelchairs.

Staff excellent but constantly under pressure due to shortage.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home

Thank you for your kind words about our team - Graham is aware that there were a couple of days recently when the wheelchairs were being serviced/repaired but wants to thank you for bringing it to his attention further and for your feedback. Best wishes, Fae.

Staff excellent and extremely caring. Nothing too much trouble, polite and helpful. Food seems to be excellent. Room airy and light, with a lovely view of the gardens and surrounding trees. Briggs Lodge is a very nice residential home, but with insufficient parking for such a rural area.
