Willow Gardens care home is known for its person-centred care and warm, family feel, with some team members having over 10 years’ experience. The home offers residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

Life at Willow Gardens is vibrant, with activities including animal visits, crafts and gardening in the mini allotment, where residents grow fruit and vegetables for the chef to use in meals. Pamper sessions with manicures and hand massages are popular, and the home has a hair salon for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

Community connections are strong, with regular visits from Prince’s Trust volunteers and local students. Residents attend events at the local college, enjoy weekly trips to the cricket club for comedy, music and dance, and go shopping at The Strand Shopping Centre nearby. There are also outings to Chester Zoo, Blackpool and the local safari park. Weekly Holy Communion is held at the home.
Dining is a highlight, with home-cooked meals and baking for afternoon tea. Residents help shape menus through feedback and tasting sessions and enjoy cocktail and mocktail making. Families are welcome anytime and can stay connected via a private Facebook page.

The home has recently undergone an impressive refurbishment, creating beautifully decorated bedrooms and welcoming lounges for relaxation and activities.

Proud to be veteran-friendly

Willow Gardens has achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) status, supporting the practical, emotional and social needs of the armed forces community. The VFF is a collaboration between Royal Star & Garter, Royal British Legion and NHS Veterans’ Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA).

Respite was needed for 6 days and from start to finish I couldn't have asked for anything better. The Care Home Manager of Willow Gardens explained everything to me and made me feel so supported. The communication was exceptional. I visited the home a couple of weeks before the stay & was given full
access to both floors, I met lots of staff and residents and that told me everything I needed to know, that Willow Gardens was definitely going be my choice for mums care.
If I am lucky enough to have mum still with me next year I would not hesitate to request another respite stay for her there. I thank all of the staff there who provide such amazing care and due to this, such a lovely atmosphere.

Very happy with Willow Gardens. Nothing too much trouble, carers and managers always kind and responsive. Always find a positive and practical approach from everyone. I know is a challenge to accommodate everyone's wishes/tastes but might be useful to survey residents on the dishes they enjoy most.
Also give access to seasoning eg salt pepper according to taste. Mum really enjoys the supper and looks forward to it. Thank you all.

Following my father's stroke, our family faced the difficult decision of placing him into a care home as a temporary measure while we searched for suitable accommodation. At just 67, this was a huge adjustment, but from the moment he arrived, he was treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
During
his stay from June 2025 to January 2026, the staff provided exceptional care, companionship, and encouragement, helping him through a challenging period. The home was always spotless, welcoming, and maintained to a very high standard.
The Manager and her team were outstanding, offering support and reassurance whenever needed. My father also thoroughly enjoyed the food, always looking forward to mealtimes and the variety of meals on offer.
A particularly touching moment came on his final day when staff gathered to wish him well. It brought tears to his eyes and perfectly reflected the genuine care shown throughout his stay. Even now, he still talks fondly about the wonderful time he had.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Reviews team at Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt and moving review. We're truly touched to hear how supported your father felt during such a challenging time, and that our team's kindness, encouragement and companionship made a positive difference. It's wonderful to know he enjoyed the meals and found comfort in the welcoming environment. Your words mean so much to us all.

Willow Gardens continues to offer everything mum needs & more.
Mum's been a resident here for 4 years but in the last 12 months Mum's health has been particularly challenging.
The whole team really do offer wrap around support ; they pre empt what mum may need & have always shown genuine care
& compassion.
Willow has always been the very best place for mum. They adapt & develop services around residents but carry it out in such an unassuming way.
Mum has been happy & settled throughout her time here & that's full credit to the management, nursing, care, kitchen, cleaning & maintenance teams....they're all known to the residents & create a real home for them.
I've had complete confidence with the care & support given to mum. Moving there gave her a new lease of life & she continues to thrive.

Thank you just doesn't seem enough.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My cousin moved into Willow Gardens 5 months ago. He was very unsettled to begin with which is understandable but soon adapted to new surroundings and is happy.
Initially he was in a small room but was moved when a larger ensuite became available and can't fault it. He's not good at mixing with people
but loves animals and music.
His room looks out onto a couple of bird feeders which the staff help with keeping it topped up and he loves watching the birds and occasional squirrel. The staff organised a WiFi booster as they knew how important music is to him so he's now able to access it through his computer.
The staff are kind, caring and look after his needs and the food is very good and plenty of it.
He enjoys having his hair cut and beard trimmed by the in house hairdresser and also seeing the chiropodist monthly.
The staff are very approachable and willing to listen and help with any of my concerns.
I'm very grateful for the care they're giving and can't fault them. Thank you.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for such kind and detailed feedback. My father has been at Willow Gardens since October 2019 following a life changing stroke. Since then, I struggle to understand or comprehend anything my dad is trying to communicate. The staff at Willow Gardens have worked with him for over 6 years and have always striven to meet his needs - even to
the details of how high he wants his blind, whether he wants his curtains open, if he wants to join others in the lounge. From the manager, nurses, carers and activities coordinators I feel that his ongoing relationship at Willow Gardens is is the best it can possibly be.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such heartfelt feedback. It is incredibly moving to hear how well your father is cared for and how the team support his communication and daily choices, from his blinds to time in the lounge.

Jeremy spent just over 15 months at Willow Gardens and settled well there. Naturally, there were teething problems but as time went on he saw the Home and his room there as his special place where he was well treated and understood by staff. I visted Jeremy five days a week and he said time and again
that, given his physical disability, this was the place he needed to be. He liked the room and the view from his window and he always said how much he liked the staff and that they looked after him well. As Jeremy's wife and being a frequent visitor I found the atmosphere most warm and welcoming

My brother was cared for at Willow Gardens from 21 August 2024 till 11 April 2025. When he died all the staff were fantastic. Cleaners, carers, nurses, managers even contractors all went out of their way to help my brother and make his life that more better. Managers and staff were busy but always had
time to stop and chat. Some of the cares even visited him on their day off. I could not wish for a better team to look after my brother. Thank you all at Willow Garden Care Home.

My mum has been at Willow Gardens for about 20 months and has mostly received the best care from all the staff. We did have some teething problems in the first six months, but we addressed this as a family and spoke to the manager. Things have settled more, and I feel that I can talk directly to most
of the staff should any problems arise. I also attend the relative's meetings when I can.

Moving a parent out of their own home and into care is everyone's nightmare but the staff at Willow Gardens have made the journey so much easier. From supporting us, as family, to adjust to a parent's changing health, needs and finding our feet, to giving us all the biggest welcome on moving-in day
(the hug was very much appreciated from the Manager). My father has found giving up his own home and independence very difficult, and accepting help even more so, but the staff soon won him around with smiles, laughter, home-cooked meals and absolute love of their jobs. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Fussy eating is accommodated and alternatives provided. The whole home is welcoming, staff know the residents (and family) well. They soon know likes and dislikes. Everywhere is clean and well looked after. Residents can choose how social they want to be. Their wishes are respected and their dignity is always paramount. Willow Gardens isn't a home, it's an extended family.

Willow Gardens is a place full of love, kindness and compassion. My dad spent his final weeks there and I couldn't have asked for better care for him. He was treated with dignity and respect by every member of staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. Even though my dad was very poorly, he would
often tell me how well he was looked after and how lovely and kind the staff were to him. The manager is a wonderful lady and she provided me and my family with support, empathy and understanding during a very difficult time. There really are not enough words to describe our experience with Willow Gardens. All staff were so lovely and friendly and caring and we were all treated with the utmost respect and kindness at all times.
Nothing was too much trouble and we were very happy with the care that was given to our much-loved
husband, Dad, grandad and great-grandad who was always looked after and supported in such a caring, dignified and professional way. We cannot recommend Willow Gardens highly enough and are so thankful to the Manager and the wonderful team she has created, always going above and beyond to help and support, making a difference to so many families when they are in need of care for loved ones. We would have no hesitation in recommending Willow to other families.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
