Juniper House is a beautiful modern home, which is at the heart of the local community, next door to a GP surgery.

Providing residential and dementia care, the home also provides respite care breaks, which can be pre-booked in advance.

There are regular visits from toddlers from the local nursery, who join the residents for activities. The home has strong links with the local Age UK group, and hosts community coffee mornings, inviting local people to join the residents for a catch up over coffee and cake.

The gardens are stunning and are overlooked by a beautiful garden room, where residents take part in activities, from a book club and arts and crafts, to a knitting club and music. The gardens are surrounded by wheelchair friendly pathways and are a wonderful space to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time.

Juniper House also has a minibus, for residents to enjoy trips out into the community.

And next door is the Noble House retirement living scheme, which has a bistro, which residents are welcome to visit. The scheme also welcomes residents across for events and celebrations. It also has a hair salon, where they can enjoy regular hair appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals in Juniper’s dining rooms, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays. And residents are welcome to dine in the neighbouring bistro.

Their bedrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with walk in wet room showers. There are adjoining and larger rooms for couples.

The home is a stone’s throw from the centre of St John’s, which has shops, cafés and a library. There is also a large car park for visitors.

Very friendly atmosphere. Very clean everywhere. Carers very caring and treating residents with respect. Everyone very helpful and listen to any queries we may have. Could have more consistent activities - some days no activities, needs more stimulation. Some days a bit boring.

I am delighted that my mum is in Juniper House! The staff are always happy and cheerful, communicating with the residents with care, respect and dignity. My mum has taken some time to settle, but this time has been treated with patience and understanding. Food is plentiful and has some choice, well
prepared and served to all residents in the dining room, important to those who need some company!

From my first visit here, I have been impressed with the caring, calm and friendly atmosphere. This first impression has continued through the week while my husband has been here for respite care. All the staff have been so patient with him and so reassuring to me whenever I have called. I know he would
rather be at home with me at his 'beck and call', but I really, really have needed this break. To know that he is in such good hands has enabled me to relax and catch up on sleep and my own life. It is a lovely place.

My mother was fortunate to reside in Juniper House for past 8 years, until she passed at the end of April. The home is friendly, well led and safe. Mum was always very happy and all her needs were met. I was always informed of any changes in mums health. Any issues that I raised were addressed quickly
and efficiently. Care staff work very hard, they are patient and always have the residents best interest at heart. I spent two weeks with mum as the end approached, I have nothing but admiration for the staff, they work so hard, in an often challenging environment, they always had a smile and their patience is commendable. Well done Juniper! and thank you.

Mom has been a resident at Juniper House for 8 1/2 years. Unfortunately she has an accident in January and had a stay in hospital which was unsettling and at times traumatic for her. I have only the highest praise for the manager and staff are juniper as she has excelled since returning to the home
late in February. Mom is very well cared for, she is very comfortable and all her needs are met. I have no concerns. Well done every one!

My mum has dementia and was living alone and becoming increasingly unsafe to be left alone but we were very worried about having to put her " in a home" . After careful consideration and looking at various options, We chose Juniper House and it has been the best decision we could have made. The premises
is lovely and modern and very clean, The staff are very professional but at the same time very friendly and helpful. Mum is very safe and well looked after and we have no concerns whatsoever.
We would recommend anyone who is looking for a residential home for their relatives or friends, to visit Juniper House for themselves you will not be disappointed.

My mother was resident for only I week as a bit of respite care. All the staff were excellent and really looked after my mother and gave me a well earned break them looking after her myself which I find harder to cope with. Everything was great and was a very helpful experience for the near future.
I cannot fault anything.

I find the overall experience as a visitor excellent. All the different individuals I have interactions with is consistent. Staff are friendly, professional, caring, supportive and respectful. I could not wish for a better place for my mothers care needs. I feel all staff go above and beyond what is
expected by them. This starts immediately as you enter the building, front of house reception always greet you with a smile whatever the time of day. As well as the care team, they too know my mother and show an genuine interest. I love them all.

What a wonderful place! I was the sole carer for my mum before she came to live at Juniper house. I didn't think anyone would care for her like I did. Well how wrong was I!
Mum was welcomed into her new home with upmost respect and affection by all the staff (and I mean all!) and that continues today.
Mum was allowed to bring her armchair, photos and china figurines which has helped her to settle in.
The Lounge and Dining room is a very social space where mum and her friends (yes mum now has friends!) have their breakfast, dinner and tea, the carers wait on them hand and foot and nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious too!
Mum loves going out in the minibus and taking part in some of the activities. She's played bingo, done some Zumba, played skittles and taken part in a quiz.
She didn't do anything before she came here, and now her life has been enriched! It's changed her life for the better and mine too. Thank you so much to the manager and your team!

The residents likes and dislikes are catered for. I always see staff around when I leave and arrive. I am welcomed and it is very rare that I am not offered a drink and even rarer that I am not greeted, even if the staff are extra busy. I have been around when something needs to be done and have noted
that residents are patiently informed and the message has been repeated in a kindly/appropriate manner, with time and care taken for the resident to think and reply. Signage and instructions are clear. Additionally, staff are around and happy to help and/or explain when needed. Temporary decorations are regularly refreshed/changed for other pertinent/seasonal ones and cleanliness/repair/decor is kept well and attention paid where needed. This makes visiting as easy as possible even on a difficult day. Many thanks to all involved.

I'm very happy living at Juniper House and have settled in well. The staff are very good and look after me really well. I'm very independent but when I ask for help they always help me with my everyday needs. The food is excellent as I always eat it all and I love one staff member in particular on activities
as she's very good and helps me with anything.

My mom was adamant that she would never go into a home. She has just had her fourth visit for respite at Juniper House and loves it! She like the staff, the rooms, the meals, the activities. Everyone is so welcoming and it means a lot to her that people remember her. She is treated with respect and
feels that people are interested in what she has to stay. From my point of view, I have had an excellent experience. Staff are helpful, reassuring and kind. I know that my mom is safe and being well looked after. Thank you. (She is looking forward to her next 'holiday' in Feb/March!

Juniper House staff could not be more welcoming, warm, caring, humorous and empathetic towards the residents and their visitors. I spend a lot of time with my granny (hours at a time) and they could never do enough for her or for me. I am welcome to get everything she needs and never made to feel unwelcome.

My mum has been here for the last 3 years. She suffers with dementia and has nothing but care and compassion. Over the last few months, she has been on end of life and we all have been treated with the utmost respect and empathy. Thank you for your continued support.

My Mum has only been in the home a few weeks but I have noticed a difference in her already, she's a lot happier. Shes walking around without her walking stick, I'm so pleased shes in there the staff are so lovely.

Came to visit my Nan today for the first time since she came to live at Juniper House. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and everywhere was so lovely and clean. We went to my Nans room where she has settled into really well. It was so lovely to see her today looking very well and happy and
she has even made new friends.

Juniper House is a very nice residential care home. My Mum is cared for well, by the kind and caring staff who all look after her well. We very sadly lost my Dad at Christmas time and I can't fault the care and compassion that was shown to us as a family, and the care and kindness to my Dad.
In the
past months, I did feel that only one activity person was not enough to occupy and stimulate all residents. This, I believe has now been rectified.
