The gardens are stunning and are overlooked by a beautiful garden room, where residents take part in activities, from a book club and arts and crafts, to a knitting club and music. The gardens are surrounded by wheelchair friendly pathways and are a wonderful space to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time.
Juniper House also has a minibus, for residents to enjoy trips out into the community.
And next door is the Noble House retirement living scheme, which has a bistro, which residents are welcome to visit. The scheme also welcomes residents across for events and celebrations. It also has a hair salon, where they can enjoy regular hair appointments with a mobile hairdresser.
The residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals in Juniper’s dining rooms, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays. And residents are welcome to dine in the neighbouring bistro.
Their bedrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with walk in wet room showers. There are adjoining and larger rooms for couples.
The home is a stone’s throw from the centre of St John’s, which has shops, cafés and a library. There is also a large car park for visitors.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1461 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Mum had lived Juniper House Residential Care Home for four and a half years with a contentment that the family never thought she would. Towards the end of 2020 her frailty was becoming more event, and she had a series of minor strokes. The Covid situation had meant that we had only limited contact with mum. However, in the second week of December, she found walking very difficult and it was obvious that Mum was deteriorating. Despite Covid, my sister and I were allowed to stay with Mum in her room (with all the PPE etc.). During this precious time we saw the love and care that the staff had showed her, Juniper really was her home, and the staff and residents her family. We were with Mum when she died. We will forever be grateful for this gift.

My mum has been in their care for the past 6 years and I am very grateful that she is so well looked after. I am able to visit the home at any time of day and spend as long as I am able (pre-pandemic and hopefully again when the world returns to some normality).

Although the general standard is good, more could be done to personalise care to suit individual residents needs. To be clear, this does not mean extra work for staff, it means providing the right services for each resident.

It is a great relief to see my mother so conscientiously and caringly looked after. The carers seem to take a genuine interest and are always ready to note her preferences and foibles.

My daughter, daughter-in-law and son visited regularly and were extremely happy with the care, friendliness and help offered by the staff! I was only able to visit about 3 times as I was reliant on lifts after my hip replacement but I was also impressed by my husband's room, size, cleanliness and willingness of staff! I would certainly be happy if my husband had to go there again but unfortunately I doubt our finances would stretch to it!!
