Juniper House is a beautiful modern home, which is at the heart of the local community, next door to a GP surgery.

Providing residential and dementia care, the home also provides respite care breaks, which can be pre-booked in advance.

There are regular visits from toddlers from the local nursery, who join the residents for activities. The home has strong links with the local Age UK group, and hosts community coffee mornings, inviting local people to join the residents for a catch up over coffee and cake.

The gardens are stunning and are overlooked by a beautiful garden room, where residents take part in activities, from a book club and arts and crafts, to a knitting club and music. The gardens are surrounded by wheelchair friendly pathways and are a wonderful space to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time.

Juniper House also has a minibus, for residents to enjoy trips out into the community.

And next door is the Noble House retirement living scheme, which has a bistro, which residents are welcome to visit. The scheme also welcomes residents across for events and celebrations. It also has a hair salon, where they can enjoy regular hair appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals in Juniper’s dining rooms, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays. And residents are welcome to dine in the neighbouring bistro.

Their bedrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with walk in wet room showers. There are adjoining and larger rooms for couples.

The home is a stone’s throw from the centre of St John’s, which has shops, cafés and a library. There is also a large car park for visitors.

I'm happy that my relative is currently staying at Juniper House, it came highly recommended and it is local to where she lives and to family. The staff are very friendly and keep me informed about my relative's health and well-being. Visits are well organised with lateral tests and available PPE which
ensures that my relative is safe. My relative tells me that the majority of staff are nice, and the meals are really good. They also tell me that their room is nice and they can bring personal items to make their room more homely.

Choosing a care home for my mum was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and I'm so glad I chose Juniper. Despite mums dementia, I feel so relieved that she is in such a caring home that goes above and beyond to make her life as happy as possible. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much
trouble. We nearly lost mum due to a bleed on the brain last year and the staff were so compassionate and caring, despite Covid restrictions I was allowed to spend time with mum during her last days, then with the help and dedication of the wonderful carers mum miraculously recovered and is currently running around enjoying her life. I cannot thank the staff on all levels enough for everything they have done.
I have been so impressed with the level of care and the happy, comfortable, homely environment that I recommended Juniper to a close friend for her husband. He too is now happily having respite here. I would definitely recommend Juniper again and again.

The staff are amazingly kind, caring, friendly, cheerful and approachable. Care is offered in a very sensitive manner using humility and respectfulness. Residents are treated with dignity and staff show a great sense of humour.
The senior management team should be congratulated for the professional

Mum had lived Juniper House Residential Care Home for four and a half years with a contentment that the family never thought she would. Towards the end of 2020 her frailty was becoming more event, and she had a series of minor strokes. The Covid situation had meant that we had only limited contact with
mum. However, in the second week of December, she found walking very difficult and it was obvious that Mum was deteriorating. Despite Covid, my sister and I were allowed to stay with Mum in her room (with all the PPE etc.). During this precious time we saw the love and care that the staff had showed her, Juniper really was her home, and the staff and residents her family. We were with Mum when she died. We will forever be grateful for this gift.

The staff strive to make the environment homely. They are caring and professional. They have done an amazing job during this pandemic keeping the residents safe and families informed. My mum has been in their care for the past 6 years and I am very grateful that she is so well looked after. I am able
to visit the home at any time of day and spend as long as I am able (pre-pandemic and hopefully again when the world returns to some normality).

Juniper House is a delightfully decorated and furnished home but the care is sadly lacking for the money we pay. This is due to a lack of staff. They cannot possibly cater to everyone's needs at a 1:9 ratio (plus higher). Please employ more staff. My father will die in there for lack of company/conversation.

My mother has been cared for in Juniper House for the last 3 years and before that in another house for 2 years. She is very happy and praises her care all the time. If ever there is a problem it is always sorted quite quickly. She will be 104 years old in November and is of sound mind and still mobile.

The care and consideration given to my mother at Juniper House is exemplary. The care home is exceptionally clean and bright and cheerful. The staff are all friendly and caring and obviously enjoy their work. The atmosphere is happy and fun. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother has settled in very

1) Laundry system - (garments are tagged but sill go missing).
