Juniper House is a beautiful modern home, which is at the heart of the local community, next door to a GP surgery.

Providing residential and dementia care, the home also provides respite care breaks, which can be pre-booked in advance.

There are regular visits from toddlers from the local nursery, who join the residents for activities. The home has strong links with the local Age UK group, and hosts community coffee mornings, inviting local people to join the residents for a catch up over coffee and cake.

The gardens are stunning and are overlooked by a beautiful garden room, where residents take part in activities, from a book club and arts and crafts, to a knitting club and music. The gardens are surrounded by wheelchair friendly pathways and are a wonderful space to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time.

Juniper House also has a minibus, for residents to enjoy trips out into the community.

And next door is the Noble House retirement living scheme, which has a bistro, which residents are welcome to visit. The scheme also welcomes residents across for events and celebrations. It also has a hair salon, where they can enjoy regular hair appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals in Juniper’s dining rooms, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays. And residents are welcome to dine in the neighbouring bistro.

Their bedrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with walk in wet room showers. There are adjoining and larger rooms for couples.

The home is a stone’s throw from the centre of St John’s, which has shops, cafés and a library. There is also a large car park for visitors.

Came to visit my Nan today for the first time since she came to live at Juniper House. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and everywhere was so lovely and clean. We went to my Nans room where she has settled into really well. It was so lovely to see her today looking very well and happy and
she has even made new friends.

Juniper House is a very nice residential care home. My Mum is cared for well, by the kind and caring staff who all look after her well. We very sadly lost my Dad at Christmas time and I can't fault the care and compassion that was shown to us as a family, and the care and kindness to my Dad.
In the
past months, I did feel that only one activity person was not enough to occupy and stimulate all residents. This, I believe has now been rectified.

She has always been treated with dignity, respect, and care.

My grandad has been at Juniper House now for two years. My family and I visit him weekly and are able to stay updated with the various activities and events that are put on via meetings and the newsletter. Juniper really is a home away from home for us - the staff are all caring, welcoming, and approachable.
Nothing is too big a task for anyone. It is evident that my grandad feels comfortable, safe and at home and I completely trust and know that he is receiving the best care possible. To all the staff at Juniper - thank you!

On arrival at the home, we were greeted and welcomed with such kindness. The staff helped to settle my friend straight away.
She feels safe and well cared for by the wonderful team of staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they always show kindness and respect.

Mother went here for respite. I am always weary about homes, as more often than not, Mother comes out with sores. She didn't from here, and that means a lot; she also didn't spend the next week moaning about being there. To me, this means she was well cared for, and I would happily send her there again.

I was very impressed with the focus, commitment and "can-do" attitude of the care team, especially the home manager when we had a crisis situation with my mother. My mother went into care during Covid, so was very upsetting as not allowed to visit. The staff were wonderful and helped her settle in. Once I could visit, it was easier. I was allowed in her room, and we have regular phone calls. She has OCD and is very fussy with her food, but everyone catered for
her needs. She was safe, so thank you, Juniper House!

My mother had a 10-day period of respite. Upon collecting my mother to return home, I was expecting tears and for her to be so relieved to see me to take her home. Well, I was truly surprised; she was full of joy, chatting about the activities she has enjoyed that day, signing etc. I really did see
a glimpse of my mother; it was very heartwarming. The staff appear to genuine care, respect and understand the person as a whole. My mother is now a full-time resident.

My husband went into Juniper House for respite for the first time in May for just over three weeks. At first, he was a little unsettled and agitated but the wonderful staff soon changed that with their kind and caring manner, encouraging him to take part in the activities and interact with the other
residents for meals, etc. He settled in really well and has since been back for a respite week in June.
