We were given a welcome talk and tour of the home by the assistant manager. From the off, it was very clear that mum would be well looked after in this home, and we had no doubt in selecting this as the best place for mum to go to.
Prince Alfred's is spacious, light and clean, and there's a lovely garden where residents can sit out The garden itself overlooks a playground, so gives a real sense of open space. This is ideal for mum, who likes nothing better than sitting out in the sun as often as she can.
Mum is quickly settling in, which is great to see.
A big thanks to all staff who have made this such an easy process.
Thank you for sharing such wonderful feedback about Prince Alfred's. We're delighted to hear that your visit left such a positive impression and that the warm welcome from our team helped make your decision easier. It's especially lovely to know your mum is settling in well and enjoying the bright surroundings and garden.
My Aunty has been living at Prince Alfred for around 18 months. She is happy there. The staff are very kind and attentive. The events/activities co-ordinator organises so many things for residents to do, if they wish to, so they are not just left sitting there all day without any stimulation. I have found that all the staff engage with the residents, and really seem to care...which is obviously what you so desperately look for when a relative needs to move into a care home.
Thank you for sharing such positive feedback. We're delighted to hear your aunt is happy at Prince Alfred and that our caring team and varied activities help make each day enjoyable and engaging. It means a great deal to know you feel confident in the support she receives.
All the staff at Prince Alfred have been incredibly kind and supportive to us, even at difficult times. Everywhere is always spotlessly clean, clothes are well laundered and there are lots of activities for people to join in with. Would certainly recommend to others. Appreciate all their help.
Thank you for sharing your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear that our team has been so supportive and that you've been pleased with the cleanliness, activities and overall care. Your recommendation means a great deal to us.
My mum has been a resident here for the past three months, and I cannot thank the staff enough for the incredible care, kindness, and support they have shown her.
After being diagnosed with early-stage dementia in November 2025, it was a very worrying and emotional time for our family. From the moment Mum arrived, the care team made her feel genuinely welcome, safe, and valued. Their patience, compassion, and understanding have helped her settle in far better than we could have hoped for.
The staff take the time to get to know each resident as an individual, and it is clear they truly care about their wellbeing. Mum has built lovely relationships with both the carers and other residents, and it has been wonderful to see her confidence grow in such a supportive environment.
Knowing that she is happy, comfortable, and treated with dignity gives our family tremendous peace of mind. The dedication, professionalism, and warmth shown by everyone at the home i
Thank you for sharing such kind feedback. We're delighted to hear your mum has settled in so well and that our team has helped her feel safe, valued, and supported. It means a great deal to know she is happy, building friendships, and growing in confidence while receiving compassionate, personalised care.
She was struggling at home and felt lonely . She is a social person and loves company .
Not going to lie she took several weeks to adjust to change and settle in but seems very content now ,the staff were very supportive to the family during this transition of change.
The care she receives is excellent all staff are kind and courteous and offer high standards of personal care ,which I know make her feel good in herself
She enjoys the meals which are nutritious and social entertainment definitely improves her mental well being
Could not recommend the Prince Alfred more highly
All communication with all staff including admin and carers has been easy and any concerns we have are dealt with efficiently !
Thank you for sharing such heartfelt feedback. We're delighted to hear your relative is now feeling settled, happy and enjoying the companionship, care and activities at Prince Alfred. It means a great deal to know our team has supported both your relative and family throughout this transition, and we truly appreciate your recommendation.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We're so pleased you found the home welcoming and the team supportive. It truly means a lot to us.
The staff are so caring for mum; the family knows that they have her best interests at heart. This covers everyone involved. She can be difficult - especially with us! - but they deal with all her idiosyncrasies.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback. It's reassuring to hear that your family feels confident in the care and understanding shown. Supporting each resident with patience, compassion and respect for their individuality is always at the heart of what we do.
My dad is happy at Prince Alfred. He took a while to settle, but is now happy and joins in with activities with other residents. The staff have all been lovely with my dad, they are very welcoming and when we speak with them it is clear they know my dads likes and dislikes.
Thank you for this lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear your dad has settled in and is enjoying the activities. It means a great deal to know he feels welcomed and well understood by the team.
My mum is extremely happy in Prince Alfred Care Home, staff, carers, cook, domestics, and office staff are absolutely fantastic, showing care, love and understanding to my mum. Best decision I've made for my mum putting her there.
I moved my Dad into the Care Home in December, and it was a big upset at the time, the decison to move him in and also being around Christmas time too, but the staff were great from day one. It has taken a bit of time and there are still a few teething issues with my Dad (not the home) but he has settled now and understands he needs 24 hour care that the home are giving him. The home is great, the staff are always really great with us, and have been very welcoming and kind to us as a difficult time, helping not only my Dad but also us too dealing with what comes with care home moves. Can't thank them enough, they have been brilliant with him.
Alfie Care Home is absolutely brilliant. The staff are all incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go the extra mile to make residents feel comfortable, safe, and well looked after. You can really tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows in the atmosphere of the home. I couldn't speak highly enough of the team - they're all fantastic.
Clean, bright and fresh environment. Clothes are always freshly washed.
The food is lovely! Also nice snacks in the afternoon.
Looking forward to spring time to spend time in the garden!
Thank you everyone at Prince Alfred :-)
Thank you for sharing such kind feedback. It's wonderful to hear the welcoming atmosphere, freshly prepared meals and bright surroundings are making a positive difference. We're delighted you're looking forward to enjoying the garden as the seasons change. Your words mean a great deal to the whole team.
This is our first experience with a care home and My friend is well looked after & always clean and well presented. He also seems very happy there. Staff are always welcoming with a smile on their face.
Thank you for sharing such lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear your friend feels happy and well cared for. Our team takes great pride in creating a welcoming environment, so it's wonderful to know this shines through. Your kind words mean a lot to us.
My Aunt recently made the decision that she could no longer live independently and wanted to move into full time residential care. We do not live locally and as such took advice from her friends and neighbours as to finding a suitable home for her. Prince Alfred was by far the most recommended home and as such was the first home we looked at . We were impressed with the warm welcome my aunt received when she moved in. She has settled in well - the staff seem very caring and work hard to ensure the residents are safe and happy.
Thank you for your kind review. We're so pleased your aunt felt welcomed and has settled in comfortably. It's wonderful to hear that our team's care and commitment have made a positive impression. We truly appreciate your trust in us.
It is the staff that make a care home appealing to residents. The staff at Prince Alfred Care Home are all fantastic. They are attentive, hard working and genuinely lovely people managed by wonderful senior managers. It is clear to me that the senior staff have excellent management skills. The staff are happy and enjoy working there. This joy is passed onto the residents who seem to be comfortable, happy and re-assured their care is a priority. I was there yesterday and it was a birthday for an elderly resident. All the staff and a lot of residents gathered around that resident and a large cake was presented to the resident. Everyone was singing happy birthday and the resident was overjoyed. There are various activities and open days to keep the residents involved in the community. One of the last events was a mini zoo arriving at the home according to my mother! They celebrate key dates like V.E. Day with war time music and a party. Well done everyone at Prince Alfred Care Home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're thrilled to hear that our team's warmth and dedication made such a positive impression. Creating joyful moments-like birthday celebrations and community events-is at the heart of what we do, and it's wonderful to know they bring happiness to our residents. Your kind words mean a lot to us. Thank you for your support!
The team are all friendly and supportive and have always had Dad's interests at the heart of the care they provide. All the staff from cleaning ,laundry, kitchen , the carers and the office staff all make the home a welcoming and a lovely community to be part of for my Dad. and we couldn't be happier with all the care that he receives. Would highly recommend Prince Alfred for anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly grateful for the trust you've placed in us over the past six years. It's wonderful to hear that your Dad feels at home and well cared for by our entire team. Your recommendation means a lot to us!
Most staff are really friendly and helpful and clearly put lots of effort into doing a wonderful job looking after my mum.
She is well looked after and I was really impressed recently when there was an outbreak of an infection, that everything was well organised and quarantine and other measures were swiftly implemented and information was well disseminated- I was informed how mum had been seen by appropriate medical staff and then also when the results of swabs came back was reassured that it was nothing serious and so quarantine was lifted . Thank you - very reassuring. My only (minor) concern is that with mum having dementia it is difficult for me to know exactly what activities take place, and whether she joins in with things, as she can't remember reliably what has happened during the day/week, and often cannot distinguish what is real and what she has imagined.
Prince Alfred is a very good home and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear you felt reassured during the recent illness. We're glad your mum is doing well and truly appreciate your support. Furthermore, your feedback has been relayed to our team and we will continue to ensure we provide the very best care.
My sister was admitted initially for respite and was immediately made to feel welcome by all staff. She is now a full time resident and in the short time she has been there we have gradually seen an improvement in her well being.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your sister felt so welcomed from the start and that her well-being has already improved since joining us at Prince Alfred. It's wonderful to know she is settling in well, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our team.
My father is a resident and I couldn't recommend Prince Alfred's enough. The staff are amazing and the place is always spotless and clean. Couldn't fault the home. Staff are always friendly and helpful and are always willing to help with any needs my father has.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that your father is receiving the care and support he deserves at Prince Alfred. Our team takes great pride in creating a warm, welcoming and supportive environment, and your feedback will mean a great deal to them, thank you.
