View Full Details of Prince Alfred Residential Care HomeMy Aunt recently made the decision that she could no longer live independently and wanted to move into full time residential care. We do not live locally and as such took advice from her friends and neighbours as to finding a suitable home for her. Prince Alfred was by far the most recommended home and as such was the first home we looked at . We were impressed with the warm welcome my aunt received when she moved in. She has settled in well - the staff seem very caring and work hard to ensure the residents are safe and happy.
It is the staff that make a care home appealing to residents. The staff at Prince Alfred Care Home are all fantastic. They are attentive, hard working and genuinely lovely people managed by wonderful senior managers. It is clear to me that the senior staff have excellent management skills. The staff are happy and enjoy working there. This joy is passed onto the residents who seem to be comfortable, happy and re-assured their care is a priority. I was there yesterday and it was a birthday for an elderly resident. All the staff and a lot of residents gathered around that resident and a large cake was presented to the resident. Everyone was singing happy birthday and the resident was overjoyed. There are various activities and open days to keep the residents involved in the community. One of the last events was a mini zoo arriving at the home according to my mother! They celebrate key dates like V.E. Day with war time music and a party. Well done everyone at Prince Alfred Care Home.
My Dad has been at the care home for 6 years plus and he has always been well looked after by all the staff. The team are all friendly and supportive and have always had Dad's interests at the heart of the care they provide. All the staff from cleaning ,laundry, kitchen , the carers and the office staff all make the home a welcoming and a lovely community to be part of for my Dad. and we couldn't be happier with all the care that he receives. Would highly recommend Prince Alfred for anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.
Most staff are really friendly and helpful and clearly put lots of effort into doing a wonderful job looking after my mum. She is well looked after and I was really impressed recently when there was an outbreak of an infection, that everything was well organised and quarantine and other measures were swiftly implemented and information was well disseminated- I was informed how mum had been seen by appropriate medical staff and then also when the results of swabs came back was reassured that it was nothing serious and so quarantine was lifted . Thank you - very reassuring. My only (minor) concern is that with mum having dementia it is difficult for me to know exactly what activities take place, and whether she joins in with things, as she can't remember reliably what has happened during the day/week, and often cannot distinguish what is real and what she has imagined. Prince Alfred is a very good home and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
My sister was admitted initially for respite and was immediately made to feel welcome by all staff. She is now a full time resident and in the short time she has been there we have gradually seen an improvement in her well being.
My father is a resident and I couldn't recommend Prince Alfred's enough. The staff are amazing and the place is always spotless and clean. Couldn't fault the home. Staff are always friendly and helpful and are always willing to help with any needs my father has.
I cannot recommend Prince Alfred Residential Care Home highly enough. The level of care provided to my grandmother has been nothing short of outstanding. The staff are incredibly attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to ensuring she feels safe. As a family we were concerned about the transition from living at home to residential care. I can honestly say your team have made this a seamless process and ensured my grandmother felt safe and supported with her care needs Prince Alfred has gone above and beyond to ensure all needs are attended to. The cook regularly liaises with my grandmother to ensure that she is happy with the choices of menu and available snacks. The exceptional puddings are a particular favourite! Knowing my grandmother is in such capable and caring hands has brought our family immense peace of mind. If you are looking for a residential home where care, dignity and quality of life are the top priorities, I highly recommend Prince Alfred. I would recommend here in a heartbeat!
My mum has been a resident since July 2024. Since the first day, she has felt very well supported by all staff and regards them all very highly for the care and support she receives and for their friendliness. As her primary relative, I too have had excellent help and support from all staff.
Five years ago Prince Alfreds accepted our 'auntie' into care following emergency hospitalisation. She had lived in the same house all her life and was independent and strong-willed. We loved her, the connection to us was simply our mother's best school friend. We had always kept in touch and I had POA. But our family was over 250 miles away and no other relatives. Thankfully, the local church was her centre for everything. It was a quick decision, with an earlier steer from Auntie and the church connection. She was always happy at Prince Alfred's and interacted with the staff who managed the care like the guests were their own family. We have just said a final goodbye to Auntie after a brief illness where the home was simply wonderful. Many of her caring team from Prince Alfreds looked in on the service and celebration of her life. So lovely to chat with them all. They really did make this care home the best we possibly could have selected. A wonderful team and place. Thank You.
Excellent home, my cousin has been really happy there. Recently celebrated 100th birthday, staff was brilliant, had a singer, dancing, cake, etc, can't fault it. The home is also nicely situated with parking and is kept clean.
Firstly I want to thank the manager and all of her team for the love and warmth both Mum and I received whilst Mum was with Prince Alfred. My mum spent two very happy years with them, and I also got to know everyone and I can genuinely say it really is a place filled with love, laughter and compassion. My mum sadly died in May, it was just her time. As I don't live in Liverpool as mum neared her passing she very kindly let me stay in the home so that I could be with my mum 24/7 and that was priceless to me, it really let me spend those last days/weeks at her side and I know it was a godsend to my mum too. My mum was so well looked after as she declined and at the same time I was looked after too as it was a very emotional time for me, but everyone, and I really mean everyone, was so kind and always had a hug for me. If your loved one is lucky enough to find this very special home you can rest assured you will feel safe too, knowing they are being looked after by such a wonderful crew.
Prince Alfred is a warm, happy place. The staff are caring and interested in the residents. Mum went in there in March 2024 - she struggles at times but that's understandable. Me and my siblings know that she is cared for and safe at all times - which gives us piece of mind.
My mother was looked after by Prince Alfred Care Home during Easter this year. The accommodation is very clean and meals are extremely well planned and prepared. This is the second time my mum has stayed at Prince Alfred for respite care and has been well looked after giving you peace of mind.
Prince Alfred is a clean, warm and welcoming care home with friendly staff. I am happy that my aunt is in such a safe and caring home.
Dad has been here for several years now and can honestly say the staff have been a credit. They are hands-on, and nothing seems a trouble for them. They have kept me informed when Dad has been ill, cared for him and had him back on his feet when, at times, it looked unlikely. The place is spotlessly clean and has recently been refurbished to a high standard. There is plenty of entertainment and even some aspects of gardening, and residents can enjoy the summer sun outside. The food is prepared and cooked well with a varied menu.
My mum is a resident of Prince Alfred. She has Alzheimer's. She is happy there. She enjoys the meals and the choice of food available. There are a range of activities to keep her entertained, as well as outings when possible. She has been made to feel safe by the staff, with constant reassurance, when she is confused or upset. When she was ill recently, her recovery was thanks to the staff, who acted quickly to get her to the hospital. I know my mum is in safe hands, and I trust them to treat her with respect and kindness. I couldn't ask for more from them.
My mum is currently a resident at Prince Alfred care home. I came with some family members to view the home before Mum moved in, and we were very impressed. The building has recently undergone a major revamp and is bright, modern, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It is warm and feels homely with lovely fresh flowers, candles and chandeliers, and we can't praise the manager and the whole team enough for the kindness and care Mum is receiving and the dignity and respect shown to our mum. The food is outstanding, and apart from three meals a day, the staff also serve afternoon tea and supper to the residents. There are also regular activities organised for the residents. We are happy in the knowledge that our mum is receiving the best care possible. Thank you.
My mum is living at the home, and I have to say it's really home from home for her... I have reports and photos sent to me regularly. She loves being here; she feels safe and comfortable... always praising the staff. I live away from Liverpool and really happy and relaxed that she gets well looked after. December was a busy time for everyone, but every day she had something to look forward to. There was loads of entertainment.
My mum went to Prince Alfred in December initially for respite care after being in hospital. My brother and I had viewed Prince Alfred in the summer looking at possible long-term care for my mum, and were very impressed with the home and staff then. However, since my mum has been there, we have seen first-hand how wonderful the staff are and how caring they all are. My mum is so well looked after and looks amazing now, and we feel so relieved and happy that she is being so well cared for. The home is so clean and bright, and I feel so lucky to have found Prince Alfred for Mum. The manager and her team have been so helpful and reassuring and have gone out of their way to ensure Mum settled in so quickly and so well. There are lots of activities arranged, which are so good, and the residents really enjoy them. I would recommend Prince Alfred to anyone looking for residential for a family member.
My “aunt” has been a resident for a number of years. During that time, she has been very well cared for. She enjoys the interaction with her fellow residents and staff alike. All her needs are readily cared for. When visiting, sadly not as often as we would like due to distances involved, we have always been made very welcome and watched the wonderful interaction of staff and residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff, and there is always a friendly smile and gentle kindness observed.
