When I and my brother were told by doctors in 2019 to find a care home for mum, we had no clue about what to do or expect. After spending a few days visiting care homes in Liverpool we were pretty frazzled by everything. Some of the places we visited were truly awful. For the family, this is an ordeal too. And then we found Prince Alfred. Sitting in the reception area we heard the sound of laughter and singing. An afternoon singalong was on for the residents. That was it. I looked at my brother and we both knew we'd found the right place for mum. She moved in in March 2019 and she hasn't been happier since she fell ill with dementia. The care from the nurses and staff is superb. The place itself feels homely. It is clean and bright. Mum feels safe and is surrounded by people her own age that she shares the day with. For me, she is a different person from the mum we grew up with but she is alive again - which I cannot thank Prince Alfred enough for.
My aunty has been at Prince Alfred for a couple of years now and I can honestly say I've never seen her happier. We have been able to keep in touch over the last year through Skype and the staff have been great at contacting us. We are all looking forward to getting back to normal and being able to visit this lovely care home.
So impressed with the service and dedication of the team here, they have ensured that my aunt's welfare has been at the forefront throughout the pandemic. They have continued to keep spirits high and ensured she has not felt alone or unwanted. Throughout the lockdowns, they have kept family members informed and they have never been anything but polite and helpful when dealing with our constant calls for updates. Thank you so much.
My uncle is so happy there. It is lovely to see the care and love he is given by the staff. A real home from home. It is so reassuring to see him so happy and content in such wonderful surroundings. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs it.
I can not fault this home. My mother-in-law is so content and happy. She is always praising the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always cheerful and have worked so hard through the pandemic to keep all the residents safe. I'm so pleased I chose Prince Alfred for my mother-in-law. It's spotless. The manager and staff will always go above and beyond.
My Aunt has been in the care of the Prince Alfred team for several years. I have witnessed a very heartfelt and caring approach towards my Aunt and other residents when I have visited. They have a very appropriate tactile approach to my aunt, making sure the 'little things' are met, brushing her hair to the style she has always preferred, thought is always put into her outfit every day, they even ensure she has her earrings in! The staff always give a good handover to myself and my family of what has occurred in-between visits. They manage her medication, her moods, her wants and needs effectively and thoughtfully. We visited many homes before we made our choice, on entering Prince Alfred and the first impressions we viewed we thought this was the right place for her. Years later we absolutely know we made the right choice.
My Nan was incredibly reluctant to move into a residential home, however, as soon as she entered Prince Alfred's she hasn’t looked back since! She is so much happier. She loves her room and looking over the park, she’s eating better than ever- she couldn’t want for anything. The staff have been amazing throughout the pandemic and have ensured her safety and well-being when family haven’t been able to visit. We’re always able to contact her, never a problem. They always go above and beyond for her and have been so considerate to my family throughout. As well as all the essential care she receives, they take time to do her hair, even paint her nails, they’re always organising celebrations and parties and activities to keep her and other residents busy. They’re very attentive and spend a lot of time talking to her and sharing laughter which has been essential to her happiness. I couldn’t recommend somewhere more highly! You can put your trust in Prince Alfred's staff, they’re exceptional.
My friend moved into Prince Alfred Care Home in October 2019 after a stay in hospital. From the very beginning, the manager and all the staff have been very supportive, caring and protective of my friend. During this Covid-19 pandemic, the care she has received has been outstanding. I am so relieved my friend has settled in so well and when I ring her or she rings me she has nothing but praise for all the staff, the care she receives and the excellent food. I can’t thank the manager and staff enough.
Best wishes, Fae
I can't visit because of Covid but all I know is every time I ring her she is happy.
Just been to a party or just going to a party, playing and winning at Bingo. She said the staff are all amazing and she had put weight on because the food is so nice. Yes, she's sad because she can't see her family, but the staff have made her life so much more comfortable. She is an 87-year-old outspoken lady who I know would tell me if she was unhappy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving her all the love and support at this awful time. Merry Christmas all of you.
Thank you for such a heart-warming review, it is wonderful to hear how well your Auntie is doing with us at Prince Alfred and how much she is getting up to. Our team will really appreciate it. Best wishes, Fae
Thank you to the manager and all the staff. If possible I would give you 10 stars.
Thank you for your kind words about our home and team - it is so appreciated. Best wishes.
When the time comes to make that decision, you know the one that neither daughter nor son ever wants to really make, the one where your loved one must leave their home and move into residential care, well when that time comes I truly hope you choose Prince Alfred. From the moment we first made contact with the house manager to the moment Mum moved in, the service, the communication, the advice, and most importantly the reassurance given was impeccable and above all others within the area, and trust me I investigated the lot! During these strenuous times, the whole team have been wonderful. But that’s who they are...a team. Making Mum feel so welcome, really getting to know her, what she likes and doesn’t, what her interests are and all done with the utmost kindness and respect. Even introducing her to other residents to make friends. This truly is a home from home and I cannot thank them enough for the care and love they show Mum whilst I am so very far away. Thank you.
Wow thank you for such a wonderful review, our team really do appreciate your kind words. Best wishes, Fae
During the outbreak of the virus the manager and staff could not have done any more to keep everyone safe.
Our family are so grateful for all the support and care given to our mum.
I cannot speak highly enough of Prince Alfred Residential Care Home, they have given my grandad a new lease of life! Before he went there, we were told that he might not last until Christmas, and now, 18 months later, he's better than he's ever looked! He's put weight on (thanks to the amazing food they serve there), and he doesn't even feel like he's in a care home, he calls it his house! The staff are all angels! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they treat my grandad like he's family, we can call at any time to speak to staff and they are always happy to help, they make you feel like family. Its been a huge weight off of our minds knowing that he's basically being treated like a king, and my grandad actually enjoying his twilight years. I cannot recommend this care home enough, if you're looking for a care home, then this one is the best!
Thank you for such kind words, our team will really appreciate - it's wonderful to hear how well your grandad is doing with us. Best wishes.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful and very caring to all the residents and would recommend Prince Alfred care home to my family and friends.
My wife is very happy in the care home, she is very well looked after! Everything in care home is excellent. I would recommend it to other people. All the staff are very caring and always have the time for a chat and a smile.
It was a very difficult decision for me (her son). But I made a perfect choice with Prince Alfred Care Home.
My Auntie was here for a few years, on visiting her my mum and I got to know the manager and staff very well and found them all to be caring, helpful and friendly.
I cannot recommend this care home enough, the manager is brilliant, both with patients needs, staff and family.
The atmosphere in the home is always warm, a homely feel, welcoming, spotless, catering to all the patient's needs.
Food is excellent, nothing is ever to much trouble to them.
Thank you for such a wonderful review of our home. The team will really appreciate your kind words. Best wishes.
Prince Alfred Care Home is a very good care home and very high standard of care, very organised and all the staff are very hard workers they willing to help and support the service users and all the family members. They look after the patients very well physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In the past year, a new activity/movie room has been completed and there is usually some form of residents activity most days. The care home itself has a very "homely" feel, warm, welcoming, whilst the cleanliness standards throughout the home are exceptional. I cannot thank the Prince Alfred team enough for the loving care provided to my mum - this truly is an outstanding care home.
Thank you for such a wonderful review of our home, your kind words are so invaluable to our team and the care they provide. Best wishes.
I have peace of mind knowing that she is in a home where I do not have to worry about anything at all and that she is very happy there.
Thank you for such a wonderful review of our home; our team will really appreciate it. Best wishes.
Contact has been afforded using technology which is readily and widely available, a must. The residential care home is clean, pleasant and friendly. Staff are interested in their roles as caregivers, responsive to residents which In turn creates a really good caring atmosphere for all residents. I am reassured that residing here was the best decision for my Mother.
