Prince Alfred Residential Care Home

I regularly attend Prince Alfred visiting my relative. Over the years, I have been overwhelmed by the level of care the home delivers. The manager and staff go above and beyond delivering care and support to residents and it is all done with a smile on their faces. Many of the staff at Prince Alfred have been there for many years and I believe this shows the positive environment it is for residents and staff. I myself am in the care profession and therefore highly judgemental of service provisions in Liverpool, however, I cannot find fault with anything at Prince Alfred. The high standard of care, cleanliness and management and care team along with chef, kitchen assistants and domiciliary staff sets the home way above other residential homes in the area and I find I advise people looking for care homes for relatives to look no further than Prince Alfred.

My Mum has been at Prince Alfred for 2 and a half years. Putting my Mum into a nursing home is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. From the moment my Mum went in, up until present, I couldn't have asked for her to be in a better place. All of the staff are compassionate, understanding, caring and treat my Mum with respect and dignity. I feel that the home has a real family atmosphere. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any members of the team. The Manager always has an open door policy should you need to speak to her with regards to any concerns you may have, she is always informative of any issues which may arise and is willing to assist in any way she can. The cleanliness of the home is exceptional and my Mum is always well presented. If it wasn't for all the members of staff in this home I wouldn't have the peace of mind to know that she is well looked after at all times. The food at the home is exceptional. If i could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you.

My nan has been here for 2 years now, and she is so happy the staff are amazing and the manager. It's very clean and always smells lovely, we chose this home because it has a great reputation in the local area, everything about this home is amazing.

The staff take time to get to know the person and take every care to make the person comfortable and happy.

I have been visiting the Prince Alfred Residential Care Home for almost 4 years. I can confirm the care home to be outstanding. The care home team provide an excellent level of care and the home is run to an exceptionally high standard. In my opinion, this has to be one of the most outstanding care homes in the country in terms of the genuine level of care, dedication and compassion.

Food has improved a lot as well.

This was one of the main areas that drew me to Prince Alfred how welcoming the home is, spotlessly clean and the caring attitude of all staff. Finding suitable accommodation for my mum was a decision that I found heartbreaking but I was reassured (totally) by the management and staff at Prince Alfred.

After looking after my mum for many years, and especially the very difficult last 12 months, I believe I now have peace of mind knowing she is being looked after very well and cared for 24/7. The people in the home really care and make my mum's life safe and comfortable, I am listened to if I have any concerns and believe this is a very good home and my mum is happy here.

Management are visible and staff morale seems good which has a positive effect on the care provided.

My Uncle's mobility deteriorated rapidly during the 2 years that we cared for him at home. We accepted he needed alternative care or we would lose him to a fall or worse still, loneliness. We live nearby so we were fortunate to have local knowledge of the excellent care which this home has provided for many years. Briefly - all staff are caring, friendly, patient and approachable. The early days were difficult as Uncle took a while to settle but the staff were wonderful. The environment is always welcoming, visitors are known by name – not just residents. More like visiting a large family home than a care home. You can chat, share a joke with staff/residents. There is always something going on 25th anniversary, Halloween, firework displays –plus they have their own mini- bus and an ‘Entertainments Officer’ ! Health issues are dealt with promptly and we are always informed asap. Our family of 4 could never offer this level of care 24/7.

My Uncle is not lonely anymore.

I find all the staff in this care home really lovely. They treat all the residents very kindly and with respect. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Anything to do with their health is dealt with very quickly until my mother-in-law came to this care home. I hadn't any experience of homes. I am amazed at hoe much work is involved in caring for our elderly relatives. I have been very impressed by the level of care.
