Prince Alfred Residential Care Home

Dad came here directly from the hospital during the lockdown, the home settled him in amazingly during a time when I could not visit, dad tells me the staff are amazing, couldn’t ask for more. The staff keep me updated during the lockdown, dad is hard to please so speaks volumes that he is happy there.

Even during these troubling times, staff are upbeat, cheerful, friendly, compassionate and always professional. The home is always spotlessly clean and tidy and the residents are all looked after so well.

My mum has been a resident of Prince Alfred Care home for over 4 years now. I can't express how well she has been cared for and how wonderful all the staff are. They go above and beyond to ensure everyone is comfortable and happy. Due to her medical conditions my mum spends most of her time in her room but is always checked on regularly. She is always clean, well-fed and her room is always kept clean and tidy. Since lockdown, which has been a very worrying time for everyone, the staff have kept me in touch with my mum by Facetiming with her, which gives me such peace of mind as I am currently unable to visit. The home has been exemplary in their care and hygiene during this time and all staff and residents have been kept safe and well. It is so reassuring knowing my mum is being well cared for by kind, caring staff in a clean and happy environment. I would not hesitate to recommend Prince Alfred Care home to anyone as I know how difficult this decision can be.

The staff are very helpful; there is a lot going on to keep my wife active. My wife has come on leaps and bounds since she has been in Prince Alfred care home. The staff are always smiling and will do anything for you, doing a very hard job.

I am a friend to a dear 96-year-old gentleman for who has been a resident of Prince Alfred since early July 2019. At first, my dear friend was only planning to have a temporary stay until his operation and healing process deemed him ok to travel closer to family in Dorset. He had lived locally across the park for 65 years with his wife. Sadly she passed away 12 years ago and life was not the same. Before his stay; a very kind Manager of the Care home came to visit him before discharge at a local hospital. Besides showing him photos of the facility; she spoke about meals, rooms, staff and showed a lot of interest in his background and likes and dislikes. This made me feel a lot more at ease just knowing that if the staff were half as nice as the Manager; it would be a definite win, win situation. I have seen the rooms and the home's facilities for which are all very clean and beautifully decorated. Activities happen often. Thumbs up!

Since moving here my mum has received nothing but the best of care from all the staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff and I can speak for all of mum's family members. We all are of the same opinion we know mum is being well looked after. The home is always spotless, she enjoys the freshly cooked food and is always kept engaged by the caring staff here at Prince Alfred.

I cannot speak highly enough of the dedicated Prince Alfred team who go above and beyond to make this a wonderful home for its residents.

As a care home manager myself, I appreciate the hard work delivered to ensure such a high standard of care. The Prince Alfred Care Home is quite simply is the best I've experienced in elderly care.

Prince Alfred is an exceptionally well run care home, with a well deserved excellent reputation and continues to excel in all areas of caregiving.

Prince Alfred is always beautifully presented and decorated. Cleanliness is 10-/10 and staff all deserve awards of patience, compassion and friendliness. Our relative, who is a resident at Prince Alfred, is 95 years old and is in a progressive stage of dementia. She is always treated with compassion and empathy. Staff are always well informed and very attentive to both family of residents and the residents themselves. They deserve all the credit in the world for the outstanding work they do! Only point of improvement - we've had some clothes go missing in laundry (understandable).

My neighbour has been in Prince Alfred Care home for the past three years. In my opinion, this home provides exceptional care. The staff are cheerful and compassionate and always ready to help. There is a friendly atmosphere and the service users seem very content.

No complaints at all. Residents are very well cared for. They have activities and short trips out. They have excellent care if they are ill. Could not recommend anywhere better.

Dad was made to feel at home straight away and we (family) were always made extremely welcome. The staff show genuine affection for all the residents which is reflected in the warm and welcoming atmosphere and in how happy all the residents are.

I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. I cannot speak highly enough of the care my dad received. Thank you.

Sometimes we have to point out certain things to the carers when Mum has been ill.

I have found the care and attention that my mum receives is wonderful and of high quality. Mum is well looked after and enjoys the activities that she can participate in. The team of staff are very attentive to Mum's needs and will highlight any issues with regards to Mum's health and will call the required community nurse/doctor as required to ensure that Mum receives the correct medication. I would like to thank the team for a job well done.

I have been involved as a reader group facilitator for over three years at Prince Alfred Care Home and am very impressed with the staffing and lovely atmosphere. I regularly attend Prince Alfred visiting my relative. Over the years, I have been overwhelmed by the level of care the home delivers. The manager and staff go above and beyond delivering care and support to residents and it is all done with a smile on their faces. Many of the staff at Prince Alfred have been there for many years and I believe this shows the positive environment it is for residents and staff. I myself am in the care profession and therefore highly judgemental of service provisions in Liverpool, however, I cannot find fault with anything at Prince Alfred. The high standard of care, cleanliness and management and care team along with chef, kitchen assistants and domiciliary staff sets the home way above other residential homes in the area and I find I advise people looking for care homes for relatives to look no further than Prince Alfred.
