Prince Alfred care home provides residential and respite care, with a team devoted to enriching residents’ lives every day. The gardens, overlooking beautiful Mystery Park, are a standout feature - designed by staff and residents after winning an internal Sanctuary Care competition. Raised beds allow residents to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, which are used for cooking and flower arranging. Recently, residents enjoyed carrot cake baked with home-grown carrots, giving a real sense of achievement.

Activities include barbecues with family and friends, cocktail hours, and pampering in the hair salon. Residents play an active role in home life, with one running a book club and another leading residents’ meetings as ambassador. Community connections are strong, with visits such as Liverpool Museum’s House of Memories project, sparking conversations about local history.

Dining is a highlight, with two chefs preparing everything from roast dinners to authentic curries, plus home-baked cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea. One chef recently competed in Sanctuary Care’s Masterchef contest. Families are welcome anytime and can stay connected through a private Facebook page.

I've been visiting Prince Alfred Care Home for almost four years and cannot speak highly enough of the level of genuine care, compassion and dignity provided by the Prince Alfred Team.
From management to care, kitchen, cleaning and laundry staff, all go above and beyond to deliver an excellent level
of care. It truly is a warm and welcoming environment. The home itself is spotlessly clean, excellent home-cooked food, array of activities, entertainment and open-door policy for residents/families.
As a care home manager myself, I appreciate the hard work delivered to ensure such a high standard of care. The Prince Alfred Care Home is quite simply is the best I've experienced in elderly care.

As a district health care professional for over 20 years, a regular visitor to regional care homes and Quality Matron, I can confirm the standard of care my aunt receives is exceptional. Management leads by example and the care team of Prince Alfred are nothing short of outstanding.
The home itself
is a pleasant, welcoming, calm environment with a "homely" feel, for which quality of care is primary and foremost.
Prince Alfred is an exceptionally well run care home, with a well deserved excellent reputation and continues to excel in all areas of caregiving.

Prince Alfred is always beautifully presented and decorated. Cleanliness is 10-/10 and staff all deserve awards of patience, compassion and friendliness. Our relative, who is a resident at Prince Alfred, is 95 years old and is in a progressive stage of dementia. She is always treated with compassion
and empathy. Staff are always well informed and very attentive to both family of residents and the residents themselves. They deserve all the credit in the world for the outstanding work they do! Only point of improvement - we've had some clothes go missing in laundry (understandable).

My neighbour has been in Prince Alfred Care home for the past three years. In my opinion, this home provides exceptional care. The staff are cheerful and compassionate and always ready to help. There is a friendly atmosphere and the service users seem very content.

I would like to thank the manager and her team for providing first-class care for my father recently. My mum is his carer. In March, she fell and required emergency hip surgery necessitating immediate respite care for dad. From the get-go, I knew this place was right for dad. We met with the manager
who was so kind and caring.
She talked directly to dad asking about him, his hobbies, his likes/dislikes and previous employment. She treated him with dignity and compassion without patronising him. The home is spotlessly clean, smells lovely and is bright and welcoming. Dad's room was beautiful. The staff are exceptional.
Dad was made to feel at home straight away and we (family) were always made extremely welcome. The staff show genuine affection for all the residents which is reflected in the warm and welcoming atmosphere and in how happy all the residents are.


I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. I cannot speak highly enough of the care my dad received. Thank you.

I think the home has a very high standard in all areas (cleanliness/food & drink).
Could do with an improvement in activities but I believe that is getting done.
Sometimes we have to point out certain things to the carers when Mum has been ill.

I have found the care and attention that my mum receives is wonderful and of high quality. Mum is well looked after and enjoys the activities that she can participate in. The team of staff are very attentive to Mum's needs and will highlight any issues with regards to Mum's health and will call the
required community nurse/doctor as required to ensure that Mum receives the correct medication. I would like to thank the team for a job well done.

I regularly attend Prince Alfred visiting my relative. Over the years, I have been overwhelmed by the level of care the home delivers. The manager and staff go above and beyond delivering care and support to residents and it is all done with a smile on their faces. Many of the staff at Prince Alfred
have been there for many years and I believe this shows the positive environment it is for residents and staff. I myself am in the care profession and therefore highly judgemental of service provisions in Liverpool, however, I cannot find fault with anything at Prince Alfred. The high standard of care, cleanliness and management and care team along with chef, kitchen assistants and domiciliary staff sets the home way above other residential homes in the area and I find I advise people looking for care homes for relatives to look no further than Prince Alfred.

My Mum has been at Prince Alfred for 2 and a half years. Putting my Mum into a nursing home is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. From the moment my Mum went in, up until present, I couldn't have asked for her to be in a better place. All of the staff are compassionate, understanding,
caring and treat my Mum with respect and dignity. I feel that the home has a real family atmosphere. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any members of the team. The Manager always has an open door policy should you need to speak to her with regards to any concerns you may have, she is always informative of any issues which may arise and is willing to assist in any way she can. The cleanliness of the home is exceptional and my Mum is always well presented. If it wasn't for all the members of staff in this home I wouldn't have the peace of mind to know that she is well looked after at all times. The food at the home is exceptional. If i could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you.

My nan has been here for 2 years now, and she is so happy the staff are amazing and the manager. It's very clean and always smells lovely, we chose this home because it has a great reputation in the local area, everything about this home is amazing.

I have been visiting the Prince Alfred Residential Care Home for almost 4 years. I can confirm the care home to be outstanding. The care home team provide an excellent level of care and the home is run to an exceptionally high standard. In my opinion, this has to be one of the most outstanding care

My mother is well looked after in this home. I find the staff very friendly to relatives and take to time to update relatives about the daily life of the resident.
