Barony Lodge is a modern care home offering residential, dementia and respite care, which can be pre-booked. The team follows Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives framework, based on six senses that promote happiness and fulfilment - security, belonging, continuity, purpose, achievement and significance. Residents are supported to achieve personal goals, such as becoming a resident ambassador, a role that includes interviewing staff and welcoming new residents.

The home features 60 spacious bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms, some with direct garden access. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with ornaments, pictures and small furniture. Communal spaces include light, airy lounges, a themed art deco cinema room with a popcorn machine, and an on-site vintage tea room for catching up with loved ones over tea and home-baked cakes.

The landscaped sensory gardens have raised flower beds, fruit trees and seating areas, plus resident rabbits. Gardening is popular, and residents enjoy growing plants and produce. The home also offers a hair and beauty salon with a nail bar and a giant interactive tablet designed for residents living with dementia.

Barony Lodge is located in Nantwich, close to shops and excellent transport links, and hosts a monthly dementia café to connect with the local community.

Proud to be veteran-friendly

Barony Lodge has achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) status, supporting the practical, emotional and social needs of the armed forces community. The VFF is a collaboration between Royal Star & Garter, Royal British Legion and NHS Veterans’ Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA).

My father has been at Barony Lodge for a month now. It took him a couple of weeks to settle in, but thanks to the support and kindness of all the staff, he has adjusted well. We visit most days and are always made to feel welcome, which gives us great peace of mind knowing that Dad is safe and being
well cared for.

The environment is consistently clean and tidy, and there are activities tailored to the residents most days, which helps create a positive and engaging atmosphere. I am really pleased with the care and community here, and I hope this will be the place my father continues to call home. I would happily recommend Barony Lodge to others looking for a supportive and caring environment for their loved ones.

Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Barony Lodge Residential Care HomeThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear your father has settled in well and that you feel welcomed and reassured when visiting. We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to continuing to provide a home where your father feels happy and supported.

It's been just over 3 weeks since Dad joined you now and it feels like he's always been there (in a nice way for us not sure about everyone else!). Everyone has made him, and us, feel so welcome and we just wanted to share with everyone how much we appreciate it. It was a hard decision that we weren't
expecting to make and you have all made it more bearable thank YOU ALL so much.

We visited my Mum during the care home's (first) bonfire night party. It was so good to see the effort that all the staff had gone to to enable as many residents (and family and friends) as possible to enjoy the event with lots of chairs in the entrance area to watch the fireworks from. Every time
we have visited I have been so impressed with the care and attention that all of the staff display to all of the residents. My Mum has a dementia diagnosis and as I live away I am so pleased to know that she is being looked after and kept stimulated by activities and visits out, for example they recently took her to the ponds in Nantwich to feed the ducks which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Thanks to everyone at Barony Lodge.

We needed somewhere safe for my brother whilst his siblings went on holiday, this care home was recommended to us. Hannah came to visit him and quickly put our minds to rest that the Barony would be a safe environment for him. On arrival was a couple of thoughtful gifts to welcome him, thank you Hannah.
Dave came to stay for 3 weeks, on the first day he went to the cinema and was smiling when I checked in on him. On our return from our holidays , he informed us he loved it and wanted to stay permanently which speaks volumes
It is wonderful to see him involved in activities and smiling, he looks happy at home which he hasn't done for a while.
All of the staff are brilliant, Dave can't remember names and I live miles away so don't regularly see people to name them.
Not only is Dave happy but his siblings are as well to know he is looked after with care, compassion and dignity.
Huge thank you to everyone At the Barony for all you do for your residents.

An excellent first time stay for my mother Joyce. She was able to move round the home with her walking sticks and had good company from other residents. Her only complaint was that the evening meal was serviced very early (5.00 pm)

We were lucky to find this room available at such short notice and we were not disappointed. The staff & management could not be more helpful & friendly, always welcoming and asking if we needed anything. They made my cousin feel happy and secure in there and we are sad her stay was so short as she
passed away, after a long illness, only 2 1/2 weeks in there. The decor is very good, carpets and rooms clean and tidy and the social areas very well maintained. The out look onto small but very tidy gardens are delightful and well maintained. It was a pleasure, even though a short one. Highly recommend to anyone.

The home exceeded all my expectations for my mothers care. The competant staff always made her and us feel welcome. The home is clean and well set up for less mobile people with wide corridors, short distances and bright, spacious rooms. There seemed to be very little turnover in staff and very few
agency staff which made a big difference as they built bonding relationships with my mum.
I was always happy we made the correct choice with Barony Lodge, having viewed a few homes, and would recommend it to anyone.

We are absolutely delighted with Barony Lodge in every way. Dad has settled in quickly and adapted well. We can visit him at any time of the day or night without prior notice. The home is immaculately clean, modern and bright. The staff are outstanding in every sense. Friendly, approachable, responsive,
knowledgeable and professional. We have every confidence in them. The food is prepared on site and is exceptional. As visitors, we can also order food so that we can eat with Dad as well. I guarantee that it is excellent!
There are a wide range of activities and residents are encouraged to participate. Socialising is encouraged. Dad especially likes meeting up with other men to talk about and watch football together. There are quiet lounges available to retreat to and an outside garden space and patio for soaking up the sunshine in good weather.I would encourage anyone to visit and make an assessment for themselves. Health professionals in our area know the home, and rate very highly.

Mum was here for three years. Unfortunately she now had to go to nursing. Staff here excellent, no job was too much, the cleaners kept mums room clean and tidy. Friendly staff, we were made to feel like family here. Can the carer look after your Jeff (rabbit) and the team leader, don't have too much
cheesy toast! Also, the manager, thanks for meals in office we are already missing you but we know you did upmost for mum and now understand this is best for mum if I could give you more stars I would.

The care home was recommended by our social service provider, of which I had a look around to see what it was like for respite care for my sister, who has dementia.
She spent Christmas week there.
I found the care home clean, staff friendly atmosphere happy nothing too much trouble.
She enjoyed
it so much she didn't want to come home. A good result should we want to use again.

If you are coming to stay on respite for a few weeks or just require residential support only and you have very few medical conditions and need a bit of a rest then this place in my view would be good. When you visit here visit all the floors is my tip. If your person has dementia then consider this
home carefully and ask questions (tips on dementia UK/Alzheimer's society) Visit a lot of homes that say they offer dementia care and compare.
If you do want a really excellent/compassionate understanding of dementia or have more complex conditions/medical that require a bit more care then this home does not have a nurse on-site and the GP practice support could be better in my view. The home could be much more proactive in identifying potential problems particularly if you cannot visit regularly instead of relying on family to bring up issues. Communication face-to-face could be much better in that area. We have since moved our person as their needs were not met by this home.
Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Barony Lodge Residential Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you feel your loved one's needs were not fully met. As a residential care home, while we don't have on-site nurses, which is very typical of residential care homes, our highly skilled care team works very closely in partnership with our local district nursing team and external healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive the correct medical support for their very individual needs. We are passionate about the way we communicate and work with loved ones and thank you for your comments, which will help us to continually improve. We absolutely agree with your advice to visit multiple homes and ask questions, as finding the right care home is so important and we actively encourage potential residents and their loved ones to speak to not only our team but our residents too, to get a complete and very transparent picture of life at Barony Lodge. We wish you and your loved one all the best in their new home.

My wife was a resident at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home for two years and being a frequent visitor myself, got to know the staff well during this time. They were all focused and professional and happy. The food was excellent and I made sure I was always in time for tea and the cook's wonderful
cakes and sponges. Activities were well organised and regular. Singsongs were a favourite but sometimes I think I was the only one singing but with an audience.
Furnishings are comfortable throughout the building. Sadly my wife passed away in September but I know that her time spent at the Barony were happy and comfortable and for that I will be eternally grateful to all the staff involved.

Working for Sanctuary Care has allowed me to enrich my life by enriching the lives of others. I have received help for my support needs from the wonderful staff and that has allowed me to reach new heights. I feel so fulfilled after each shift because I know I’m doing good, and I love working in such a positive environment. Even on days where I struggle, I know that the team will help pick me up. It’s because of all this I am thankful to be a member of the Sanctuary team.

I have worked at Barony lodge for 3 years. I really enjoy supporting the residents in their day to day life. It’s a privilege to support them, and get to know them and find out about their life before coming into a care home. I believe when working in care you should care for residents how you would want a loved one to be cared for.
