Shortlisted for the Caring UK Awards 2023 Midlands & Wales Care Home of the Year, Redhill Court is a very special home. It has beautiful spaces to enjoy, including a vintage tearoom, a cinema, relaxation room and welcoming lounges.

The team, many of whom have been there for over 10 years, are passionate about supporting the residents to have a very active role to play in how their home is run, giving them a sense of purpose and belonging.

Co-production is simply a way of life, with a team of resident ambassadors who love helping on reception, with gardening, maintenance and activities. This includes interviewing potential staff, showing them round their home, holding residents’ meetings and providing feedback to the home manager.

The team are passionate about enriching the residents’ lives through activities. The ‘Monday clubs’ are a shining example, where staff and relatives with specific hobbies run their own clubs with the residents. For example, there is a Lego club, flower arranging, a knitting club, cake decorating and a cooking club.

And the home’s gardening club has been such a success, lots of the residents and their families have got involved, growing vegetables, fruit and herbs, which they harvested to use in the kitchen.

And talking of food, the home’s head chef, who won Best Chef in the West Midlands Region at this year’s Sanctuary Care Chefs’ Conference (2023), cooks delicious, nutritious meals for residents. She also loves making those family celebrations extra special, with afternoon cream teas, complete with homemade scones and clotted cream, cupcakes and finger sandwiches.

The team also embrace the local community into life in the home, from school children, who sing and dance for the residents, to performances from their favourite ukulele band.

I have found the staff and care given at Redhill court has been excellent. During an emergency they took my Mom in offered immense support not only to my mom but also the family. My mom has been there since January and the care is 2nd to none that she receives.the staff are very caring and understanding
of her needs and offer great support to the family also. I will be forever grarefull to them for making such a difficult time so much more bearable and the love and care they show to Mom.

I can not say enough here how grateful I am to Redhill and each and everyone of the staff. My sister is of complex needs with dementia and autism. She is so well looked after and treated as an individual and always with respect. I looked after my sister prior to her joining the Redhill family and she
was very hard work but insisted she would never go into a home. Eventually she had to go into Redhill and really felt at home straight away. If I or anyone asks my sister if she is happy she says "of course I am it's a life of Riley" I am also made welcome and I know all of the staff and we have a chat and a catch up every time I visit. Words fail me for how full of praise and gratitude I am and have for the entire staff at Redhill Court. My dad has only been here for just over a week now and already my dad has had his hair cut, showered and shaved on a regular basis, it might sound small thing but in his last care home of 10 weeks,
he was bathed once and never shaved, we as a family had to do it. Here at Redhill he is receiving proper care with dignity and a smile, we now as a family have quality time with dad when we visit and don't worry about it or him now. Dad loves the place. Well done all staff and thank you so much.

My aunt is always well cared for and sat in the lounge, whenever I visit. Her room is always spotlessly clean and tidy.
The staff are very caring and attentive.

Our Mother was admitted in December 2024 after a short stay in hospital since her admission we have noticed a vast improvement in her condition, she looks really well which coincides with the constant care that Mom is receiving from the care team. Meals are excellent, the staff are very polite and welcoming
to all family members.

The staff are amazing with all the people they care for. My nan seems happy at the home and my nan didn't want to leave her own home but she has all the comforts of home in the care home. Excellent home, my Nan is since March 2024 and we are so happy for her to be here. My Nan has dementia, sight problems and cancer. She is having the best care of her life and we as family can't fault them they are all excellent and really care for clients.

Redhill Court is an amazing place full of laughter and love. Every member of staff knows each of the residents well and treat them with respect and dignity. Rooms are clean and comfortable, food is good and varied and activities are plentiful. Residents are able to join in with visits to local places
of interest and encouraged to play an active role in the life of Redhill. Above all Redhill is filled with love and compassion. Redhill is a family that benefits all who are part of it.

Sarah organises many amazing activities, including her 'Monday Club', where staff and residents' loved ones share their hobbies with the residents. There's everything from gardening and cooking to flower arranging and knitting - even a Lego club!


Sarah has linked Redhill Court with another care home, so the residents can enjoy a pen pal scheme, as well as a local school, with the children treating us to live music and drama performances, taking part in craft sessions and watching outside entertainers with the residents.
There is music galore, with everything from an adult ukelele group to staff setting up the home’s cinema room so that it feels like the residents are going out to see a concert.


She will organise trips out for lunch to a nearby Sanctuary Care home for residents to socialise and do pamper sessions and nail painting in the home’s sensory room.
