Shortlisted for the Caring UK Awards 2023 Midlands & Wales Care Home of the Year, Redhill Court is a very special home. It has beautiful spaces to enjoy, including a vintage tearoom, a cinema, relaxation room and welcoming lounges.

The team, many of whom have been there for over 10 years, are passionate about supporting the residents to have a very active role to play in how their home is run, giving them a sense of purpose and belonging.

Co-production is simply a way of life, with a team of resident ambassadors who love helping on reception, with gardening, maintenance and activities. This includes interviewing potential staff, showing them round their home, holding residents’ meetings and providing feedback to the home manager.

The team are passionate about enriching the residents’ lives through activities. The ‘Monday clubs’ are a shining example, where staff and relatives with specific hobbies run their own clubs with the residents. For example, there is a Lego club, flower arranging, a knitting club, cake decorating and a cooking club.

And the home’s gardening club has been such a success, lots of the residents and their families have got involved, growing vegetables, fruit and herbs, which they harvested to use in the kitchen.

And talking of food, the home’s head chef, who won Best Chef in the West Midlands Region at this year’s Sanctuary Care Chefs’ Conference (2023), cooks delicious, nutritious meals for residents. She also loves making those family celebrations extra special, with afternoon cream teas, complete with homemade scones and clotted cream, cupcakes and finger sandwiches.

The team also embrace the local community into life in the home, from school children, who sing and dance for the residents, to performances from their favourite ukulele band.

My partner is a resident in this care home. It's a lovely, homely place. The staff are so caring, thoughtful and always there to help. I've met some lovely people. The staff are excellent. I can't thank them enough for their care.

Redhill Court Residential Care Home is a beautiful place, like a grade A hotel. My mother in law has arrived there today and the manager's presence helped on our journey. Thank you so much for helping us understand what really matters when our family joins their home that is that happiness is everything
and to be loved with an atmosphere which is overwhelming. With so much to do activities, hairdressing, by the way wow, and so much more thank you for for making us at ease and to know our mother-in-law will be as happy as can be and cared for we can’t thank you enough.

My father lived at Redhill Court Residential Care Home for 18 months. During that time the staff were so caring not only to my dad, but with my mum who visited nearly every day. They made valentines, anniversaries and birthdays so special. We couldn’t have been more pleased and happy of a care home.

Mum has been resident in Redhill Court Residential Care Home since March 2022 and our experience has 1000% exceeded our expectations of life in a care home for her.
The staff are all so caring and will always find time to have a laugh and a chat with her. Banter is still so important to Mum and it’s
a delight to hear it. I think all the staff in Redhill Court know her by name which goes a long way to making us feel she is genuinely cared for.
The social media page is a great way for us to see if she has taken part in any of the many daily activities that take place. So when she tells us she has ‘done nothing’ we can see that’s not the case!
Staff work so very hard on every front to care for their residents, are endlessly patient, and so good natured we cannot recommend Redhill Court highly enough.
We feel so fortunate to have found it just prior to Mum’s change of health and that there was a space available at the right time.

My mom moved into Redhill five months ago, and my family and I are so impressed with everything there. Mom settled in quickly, and the staff are always so welcoming, friendly and caring - nothing’s too much trouble for residents and visitors alike, plus there are well-planned and interesting activities
to join in with every day, and everywhere is clean, tidy and smelling nice - it’s a pleasure to visit Redhill, I go most days. Redhill is a fabulous place; well done, everyone at Redhill, you’re all amazing.

Absolutely wonderful care home. They have been looking after my mom for two years now, and I can say that she couldn’t be in a better place. The staff work hard to try and make things as comfortable and homely as possible. We really are lucky that my mom is there.

I wish every care home was like this.
Every time we visit, there is an activity going on, eg keeping fit with balloons, sewing club, puzzles and music being played and film afternoons. Any excuse for a party - the care home is on it, eg the King's Coronation meant the residents made decorations, had
a tea party, etc.
The food is always varied, and they have the option of three courses each mealtime, plus they cater for large and small appetites.
The staff all know each resident personally and often chat like friends (including joking around). They genuinely seem to care and very much accommodate each resident's needs, eg if the resident wants some assistance with putting their laundry away - it gets done.
Well done all - you provide such reassurance to the residents and their family members through what is often a challenging time.

The team at Redhill and on Daisy unit cannot do enough to support my mother-in-law. Their patience, care and support is so good. My mother-in-law's moods can be unpredictable but regardless, she is treated with care and compassion. The team go over and above to include my mother-in-law even when she
is reluctant to take part in events and the photos show her enjoyment.

My mum, who is approaching 103, has resided in Redhill Court for almost 4 years now. Her health and welfare needs have been well catered for by a friendly attentive staff. Her room is kept neat and clean.
Meals are always well presented and with good options. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
We are always made to feel welcome as visitors and encouraged to join in with day-to-day and major events.
They have many facilities including a theatre, a quiet room, nicely managed gardens and even a bar.
I thoroughly recommend this care home.

My nan lived at Redhill Court for a number of years and spent many a happy time laughing, smiling and enjoying her days with fellow residents and the team, despite her declining health. The team, who cared for her to the very end of her life and after she passed away there, did so with genuine love,
care, kindness and affection. They treated her with dignity and respect, recognising her for the amazing, special person she was and always will be. As a family who love her dearly, I can’t thank them enough. They’re a very special team.

All staff at Redhill Court are friendly, helpful and sympathetic. They look after residents and their relatives alike. They have activities here, which are fabulous, keeping residents happy and busy. They offer a good variety of food and they offer residents help when needed. They are a happy band making
for a friendly atmosphere. They keep relatives informed at all times so I know my relative is well cared for.

My mother became a resident in the home in June 2020, during the Covid lockdown. We were unable to visit her. Staff at the home worked hard to instal pods in the garden so we were able to visit. Eventually, we were able to visit her in her room. All staff that we came into contact with were friendly
and helpful. They always contacted us day or night if there was an issue with her. The home is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone requiring this type of care.

I wrote a review for Redhill Court not too long after my mom moved in there. I was super impressed and knew that Mom was being looked after and cared for extremely well.
However, almost two years later, I just need to say that Redhill Court is so much more than I first thought. It's a truly special
place where the residents are loved and cared for both physically and emotionally. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful people who work here and I know that Mom is in the safest of hands. There's a real sense of community and family at Redhill; it's just a wonderful place filled with wonderful people!

The manager goes out of her way if we have a problem, all the staff who look after Dad are excellent.
I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking.

My mother-in-law has been at Redhill Court for 3 months. We find all the staff to be kind, cheerful and welcoming at all times. The resident feels the same. The cleaning is excellent and the food very good. There are always a variety of activities but unfortunately Mum cannot participate as she cannot
see. We wish there were more opportunities for her to have reasons to join in. She loves the puppy who visits. Whatever we ask for always gets a response.

Since Mom moved in almost a year ago, she is a lot more content and less anxious than she used to be when living at home alone.
The services provided are second to none. The staff from management/office staff to carers to laundry staff to the caterers are the best!
Mom is now eating a balanced diet
and says that food is delicious, with choices both lunchtime and evening.
The activities they do with the service users look such fun.
We see daily on their social media page what everyone has been upto which helps so much with our peace of mind.
Team Redhill you are the best! Well done and thank you to you all for helping our journey with Mom to be a lot more bearable.

I have been so pleased with the care my mother receives at the home. The staff are very caring, they treat my mother with respect and kindness. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
My mother has been in hospital a couple of times and is happy to get back home again. It is such a relief to find somewhere
that puts her needs first.

Sarah organises many amazing activities, including her 'Monday Club', where staff and residents' loved ones share their hobbies with the residents. There's everything from gardening and cooking to flower arranging and knitting - even a Lego club!


Sarah has linked Redhill Court with another care home, so the residents can enjoy a pen pal scheme, as well as a local school, with the children treating us to live music and drama performances, taking part in craft sessions and watching outside entertainers with the residents.
There is music galore, with everything from an adult ukelele group to staff setting up the home’s cinema room so that it feels like the residents are going out to see a concert.


She will organise trips out for lunch to a nearby Sanctuary Care home for residents to socialise and do pamper sessions and nail painting in the home’s sensory room.
