And the group activities are just as special, from surprise ‘Magical Mystery Tours’ in the minibus, to trips to local attractions like the riverside at Worcester and local equestrian centre.
There’s so much going on inside the home, from animal visits, with everything from the winners of Crufts to rabbits and parrots. The local cadet band often perform in the home’s car park and there are regular performances from the residents’ favourite ukulele group.
Fellow residents from Sanctuary Care’s Ravenhurst home often pop in for games. And a local hairdresser also visits for regular appointments in the salon.
The community is embraced into life at Westmead, with a community breakfast morning every Monday (10am).
The home, which provides residential, dementia and pre-bookable respite care, has a wonderful warm, family feel.
With an excellent chef, the home-cooked food is delicious, with everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays and home baking.
The team are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, supporting them to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. There are regular meetings to decide what activities they would like to enjoy. And they even take part in car boot sales in the home’s car park, helping out on the stalls.
Westmead has lots of cosy, welcoming spaces to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time, and there are beautiful large gardens for summer gatherings.
And every day, even if they can't be there in person, families can see what their loved ones have been enjoying doing on Westmead’s private Facebook page.

What stands out most is how genuinely caring and attentive the staff are-they go above and beyond every day to ensure residents feel valued, included, and comfortable.
I especially appreciate the wide range of activities offered, many of which are thoughtfully tailored to reflect the residents' interests and past lives. It's clear that there's a real effort to maintain a sense of identity and joy for everyone living there.

He had respite at several local care homes and it stood out as the best. The staff keep me up to date on his progress & are quick to lt me know if any issues arise. We are lucky to have found Westmead. Staff friendly, helpful and always cheerful, keen to help both residents and visitors. We were put at ease. Food was good and healthy, all usually eaten. Drinks being brought around on a regular basis. Rooms always clean and tidy. My wife went on trips on the minibus local beauty spots. She enjoyed the fete and many activities, of which there are many. On visiting we sat out in the garden which is well maintained. We will use again in the future with apprehension.
