The variety of activities the residents enjoy at Westmead is very special. The home’s award-winning activities coordinator is passionate about researching residents’ life histories, to find out what matters to them, so she can organise activities that bring them joy.
And the group activities are just as special, from surprise ‘Magical Mystery Tours’ in the minibus, to trips to local attractions like the riverside at Worcester and local equestrian centre.

The staff were polite and friendly and helped my partner to settle despite a few initial teething problems. They dealt with challenges appropriately, and I was kept informed throughout the stay.
I would definitely consider Westmead for future respite breaks.
Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that your partner had a positive respite experience and look forward to welcoming you both back to Westmead in the future.
My Mother had a very pleasant time in Westmead for me to have a holiday. I had peace of mind knowing her needs were going to be well cared for.
We are delighted to hear you were able to enjoy your holiday knowing your mother was being cared for at Westmead, she is most welcome to join us again for respite in the future.
Westmead is a wonderful place. The staff were amazing with my grandma always going above and beyond to help us with literally anything. Kate the entertainment organiser did a fantastic job at keeping everyone busy and entertained and it was so lovely to see her doing 1 to 1 with them as and when she could. And Porche the manager was like no other. The staff treated grandma as if she were their own family member. Grandma was well and truly looked after here by an incredible team! And we could never thank them enough for everything they did for her and us as a family.
My husband came here for respite care for a few days. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the facilities are very good. Food was tasty and he was given the option of eating in his room or in the dining room. He would be happy to stay here again.
Thank you for your kind words for our home and team at Westmead Residential Care Home! It's wonderful to hear that your husband enjoyed his respite stay and that you were so pleased with the care and food. Best wishes, Fae
I visit two to three times a week, I always find my mother clean and happy with her care. The activities are outsanding, a lot of thought goes into them. My mother seems well fed, there is always tea and coffee coming round. The staff are very friendly and very nice to my mum and me. I'm glad I chose Westmead.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are delighted to hear about your experience at Westmead and that your mother is happy and well cared for. We will pass your kind words on to the team. Best wishes.

So many activities to keep residents busy, mobile, and connected to the outside world.
Visits to museums, and stately homes.
Visits to markets and shopping centres.
Gentle walks along the river to see and hear the birds.
Visits by children from local schools.
Concerts from local singing groups.
As well as pampering sessions for their well-being.
Quizzes to help with memory.
Art for joy and satisfaction.
All this and wonderful staff.
Mum unfortunately could no longer be at home due to onset dementia and after several falls it was decided a home was the best place. I had heard from a few people about Westmead and thankfully the home's manager visited Mum in hospital and offered her a place there and then. She is still a little unsettled but I know it will take time to adjust. But she has a better social life now thanks to one member of staff in particular arranging more daily events than she ever had. She's out and about in the mini bus with trips to a garden centre in Tewkesbury, ice creams at Church fields, sing along rides and much more. The entertainment and activities inside the home are brilliant. The care she is receiving is very good and when Mum is down she gets lots of hugs. The menu always looks good and the smells from the kitchen make your stomach rumble. Thank you all for looking after Mum.
The activities are amazing, from fun games to trips out to some amazing places with all abilities catered for. Mom loved going out for a coffee.
All the staff also take time to care for family members it can be quite upsetting but they have all supported me through the tough times which I will be forever grateful.
I am sure I made the best decision to place Mom at Westmead.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review for Westmead Residential Care Home. It is so appreciated by our team, thank you. Best wishes.
Making the decision to place a parent in full time care and which home is an extremely difficult decision. After looking at many reviews and taking advice from friends, we visited several homes before settling on Westmead.
From the initial visit and contact with several members of staff, it was apparent that the level of individual care is excellent. The staff are probably the most important aspect of any care home, and in the case of Westmead they are outstanding.
I can honestly say that since moving into Westmead, Mum's quality of life and general wellbeing has improved immensely.
Thank you so much for your lovely review for Westmead Residential Care Home!
Very happy with her care.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We are so pleased to hear how happy you are with your cousin-in-law's care at Westmead. Best wishes.
Nice homely care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Residents have plenty of activities to take part in and also little trips too. Mum enjoys the garden and green house facilities. Thank you Westmead!
My mother has been a resident for 4 years and has received continuously fantastic care. The home is always welcoming and clean and smells nice with wonderful kind genuinely caring staff always cheerful and helpful. Not a grand stately home but much more importantly it feels like a happy place. My mum is well looked after, comfortable and feels loved. Definitely recommend.
A lovely home with a very nice feel. All staff that I've had contact with have always been very helpful and show great consideration for the welfare of both residents and families. We're very happy with the care and respect shared with us. Communication is very good and the activities on offer are varied and photos of events are shared swiftly for families to enjoy.
The staff are considerate and friendly and the standard of care has been excellent. The home is spotlessly clean and the food is lovely. Activities are put on throughout the week for residents and they have even encouraged Dad to play the piano again, which is lovely.
The overall management of the home is excellent and the manager has been brilliant, supporting us through difficult times with Dad. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
There are activities almost every day and one to one attention fitted into the week too. Trips out are organised and also visits to the home from craft stalls, local school children, the local bikers, singers and acrobats. They even organised a little mini festival with a live band, some fun festival activities and food in the summer.
This is an exceptional gem in the sometimes murky waters of care homes.
Love to see my mum smiling, making friends, choosing to join in with a variety of activities that she would never have done before, eating, joking with staff and being safe. It's also lovely to hear staff saying such nice things about her. I couldn't be happier.
Westmead Residential Care Home has been the ideal place for my sister to recuperate following an operation. The staff have been unfailingly kind and considerate and the standard of care has been high. My sister has been treated as an individual and her wishes are considered where possible. My sister has been very happy here.
Mum is very happy here as everyone is very friendly and she is well looked after. There are plenty of activities to keep her occupied and it's such a lovely environment. Lovely and clean and very good food. Mum especially likes her cooked breakfast.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our home. It is so wonderful to hear how happy your mum is with us at Westmead and how much she loves her cooked breakfasts! Best wishes, Fae
Lovely care home. Residents are well cared for and they are very motivated by all the activities. The staff are friendly and caring. I'm more than happy with everything that is done for Mum. In fact, I'm thinking of booking a place here!
Thank you so much for your kind words for our team and home. It's wonderful to hear how happy you are with the care provided to your mum. You are more than welcome at any time, even just for some tea and cake! Best wishes, Fae
