The variety of activities the residents enjoy at Westmead is very special. The home’s award-winning activities coordinator is passionate about researching residents’ life histories, to find out what matters to them, so she can organise activities that bring them joy.
And the group activities are just as special, from surprise ‘Magical Mystery Tours’ in the minibus, to trips to local attractions like the riverside at Worcester and local equestrian centre.

Westmead Residential Care Home Reviews (80)
Westmead Residential Care Home has a Review Score of 9.8 (9.829) out of 10, based on 20 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Westmead Residential Care Home has 80 reviews.
They need to come and see for themselves to see whether it is suitable or not.
The home is short-staffed almost all the time and this impacts on the level of service provided.
Home manager said: “I am really saddened to read your review as this is the first time you have mentioned that there are areas where you feel we are falling short. We do have the correct number of care staff to look after our residents so I am surprised to read this and will obviously come and see you to chat through any concerns you have in person.”
The home is clean and well decorated. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly and you are made to feel part of an extended family. Nothing is too much trouble and the care given is second to none. You are kept informed of your loved one's health and are made to feel part of the team.
Westmead is a clean, comfortable and safe home that has provided compassionate care for my dad at the time in his life when this was needed. This is his home and the caring staff are his extended family.
My mother has been resident at Westmead for 3 years. She has always been treated with respect and her views have always been listened to. She is always clean and well presented. I feel confident leaving her in their care.
Staff friendly.
Improvement suggestion; hand sanitizer at entrance and throughout building. Did appear for a period when on lock down earlier this year when mentioned to staff but has not been seen since.
Westmead gives us good food, drinks, good health and security measures and a wide-ranging list of activities. Staff and carers are friendly and helpful and I appreciate being looked after 24 hours a day.
My mother has only been here since September. The staff are caring and attentive however some problems with getting her clothes back. This has now been sorted.
Just to say my mother-in-law was very happy here and enjoyed her time in the home right up until she passed away. A big thank you to management and the caring staff.
Always polite and friendly. Mom has always been very content here! Her wishes are always respected.
I have been visiting my mother-in-law at Westmead for nearly a year now. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff, from the manager, the carers and everyone else who works there. The staff are always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Despite early stages of dementia, my mother-in-law is very happy there. She does not always want to be involved in group activities but has formed a very good friendship with another lady resident. In my opinion, the manager deserves a special mention.
The standard of service overall is excellent.
I recommend this home to anybody who have any relatives needing to go in a home it is first class. The staff are very helpful, parking is very good. They put on music for the ones that don't watch television, they have a sing-a-long in a different room. I was there on Sunday morning they were doing a first aid course.
My friend has been in Westmead for almost 5 weeks whilst her family had a trip to Australia. The care she has received has been amazing, from receptionist, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners, they have gone above and beyond to make my friend feel wanted, safe and secure. The activities team have helped keep her entertained and encouraged her to join in. It's like having another family. I would certainly recommend Westmead to others who need either respite or residential care.
I have been visiting Westmead Residential Care Home for some 5 years now on a regular basis- normally once a week, giving communion to Catholic clients- have been 5 presently down to 2. It is a quiet friendly place, clean and with a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone seems happy about the food! Being now 78 years old I have seen some dreadful "care" homes, I feel this is the best I know, size and location is good, staff fantastic.
Well run care home. Good caring staff. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends/family.
Dad has been in care for two months now, the care and attention he is receiving is wonderful. He is very happy in his new surroundings and this has given me a huge sense of relief also a lot of pressure has been taken from me. The staff are all very friendly and professional, knowing my dad has this level of care is great news to all concerned.
Mum is well cared for in a pleasant and clean environment with all her needs being met mostly on site.
I am completing this form on behalf of my brother who is living in Westmead and is very happy. A very pleasant and well run establishment, wonderful staff. Thank you.
Having researched for a suitable home for my mother late in 2015 I settled on Westmead based on their performance reviews. I was also aware that many staff have been at Westmead for many years.
I have been more than happy with the facilities and staff any have no reservations about the care provided to my mother. Her health has deteriorated quite quickly and the management and staff have managed the issues without fuss and have communicated with me as and when required.
Since being in Westmead my husband has had all possible help. Suffering from vascular dementia my husband can be bewildered but help is always at hand. My husband has quite bad back pain but this too has been helped with a doctors aid. All in all I feel content at his being where he is.
