Summerdyne is a converted regency house for 29 residents just outside Bewdley town centre. As a smaller home, the team prides themselves on a homely, friendly and attentive environment. This can be seen in their whole set-up, from the food they provide through to the varied activities, from visits to the local pub, use of iPads to stay in contact with friends and family. Visitors are encouraged to come at any time, to provide input into the daily activities and the care plans, and are welcome at social events.

A newbuild extension with lounge and garden access was completed in 2024.

Long serving staff are proud of the excellent reputation for the professional care provided; the home was one of the first to achieve the Worcestershire dementia standard. It caters for nursing and dementia needs, and offers both palliative care and respite care.

My mother was at Summerdyne for two years. She settled in and made it her home. All staff were friendly and cared for well. I was happy for my mum to live at the home. She had been in her own home until she was 100 years old. She enjoyed the company of people and children visiting from the local school.

A close friend recommended Summerdyne care/nursing home to the family. Every interaction with the carers and staff was excellent and of the highest standard. My brother, sister and I have nothing but praise for the care mother received.

My mother was a resident at Summerdyne Nursing Home for 18 months. She had Alzheimer's and following a fall at home which cause a fracture she became unable to walk we could no longer care for her at home. Summerdyne was amazing from day one. The staff are great and really care. The activities are amazing
my mum was really happy. She passed away in her home with the amazing care till the end.

The nursing home has a lovely peaceful atmosphere which is created by the management and filters down to all members of the staff. Every attempt is made to make sure the residents are in a stress free environment, that they are relaxed, and that all their needs are being met.
All dignity is preserved
when receiving personal care or dealing with sensitive issues. The staff remain professional and respectful and will either give advice or find someone who can.

Mum was a resident at Summerdyne Nursing Home, for four years from 2021 until she passed away in March. Throughout that time the care that Mum received was exemplary in all aspects, personal care, activities, food and drink. Her room and clothing were always kept beautifully. End-of-life care was sensitive
and respectful. Most highly recommended.

Mum passed away at Summerdyne earlier this month. The care and attention prior to her passing was nothing short of exemplary. During her stay at Summerdyne, she was always treated with compassion and humour by the care home staff, who showed the same warmth and humour to visiting family and friends.
Spontaneous visits to Mum were always fully encouraged, day or night. I would highly recommend Summerdyne if you are looking for a home where you want peace of mind knowing that your loved one is in safe and caring hands.

The lifestyle and wellbeing lead and her assistant took over in May 2023. I feel that the girls have gone above and beyond with their kindness towards my husband. I have very often arrived to see the lifestyle and wellbeing assistant sat in his room, trying to persuade him to take part in various activities.
My husband's life always revolved around cricket, football, rugby union and garden birds. He is a lifelong Wolves supporter, also Shrewsbury Town. The girls have tried to organise sporting events for him. Personally, I think these two girls truly care about the lifestyle and wellbeing of the residents at Summerdyne. Thank you for all your input with my husband.

I am very impressed with Summerdyne. My mum had been in a couple of others prior to getting a place there, and this far outstrips the other two. Mum has been there for coming up to two years, and the improvement in her is amazing. The staff are lovely, kind and very approachable. Summerdyne was recommended
to me by another resident's son, who said it was like being part of a big family, and I have to agree that that is my experience too.

The staff were kind and caring and made me feel at home immediately. From the home visits by the manager, I felt I would be looked after well during my respite stay. All staff could not do enough for me. The food was very good. I enjoyed the activities, such as the visiting birds of prey. The handyman
was extremely kind and helpful, just like all the staff. It was good to see the manager mixing with the residents on a daily basis.

My experience at Summerdyne Nursing Home has been fantastic. The staff are really friendly there and are passionate about their job. They get the residents engaged with lots of different activities, so everyone can participate and socialise. They have a wide range of facilities at the home which everyone
can access and which are well maintained. The food and drink that are served there are good quality meals that are nutritious and healthy. The rooms are clean and spacious for the residents. I think Summerdyne is a lovely nursing home who have your best interest at heart.

My mother-in-law has been at Summerdyne for some time now, and she loves it. The staff are great and so accommodating. I recently got married (to her son!), and the staff made sure that she got to the wedding in all her finery, and she looked fantastic. There was also someone with her all the time,
so we didn't have to worry.
They do loads of other activities too, and we have often joined them in the garden for a sing-a-long with local musicians. Watching the staff with all the residents is humbling and heart-warming. I really hope there is somewhere like this if I ever need it!

My mum has been at Summerdyne for over a year now, and I have not known her to be as happy as she is now. All of the staff are so friendly, and I don't know how they pack so many activities in; they are always doing something or visiting somewhere, whether this is the safari park or various singers
coming in or just celebrating someone's birthday. Mum appears on Facebook more often than the rest of the family put together!
I feel, in some ways, that they have given me my mum back, and although she cannot speak very well, we can have a giggle like we used to when I was young.
It's a real pleasure to go and visit and see the relationship she has with staff members. I really cannot thank you enough

My father was cared for with the utmost respect and dignity whilst at Summerdyne. All of the staff we encountered were truly wonderful, caring, very deeply, and going above and beyond what would be expected. All of our requests and wishes were acted upon swiftly, and nothing seemed too much trouble.

My mother spent 7-months at Summerdyne. She was immediately welcomed into Summerdyne and treated with kindness. Covid restrictions impacted approximately two months of her time there, but gradually activities developed once again allowing the residents to enjoy interests in the garden, arts and creativity,
dance etc. This brought pleasure to the Summerdyne community. Even when mum was unable to join in an activity a treat was shared with her in her room. The staff worked hard to find out what she liked. Mum was kept very clean, encouraged to eat as her appetite waned and treated with dignity and respect, particularly in her final weeks.
As a family, we are so pleased we found Summerdyne their care, kindness and teamwork are a credit to them all. I loved hearing staff laugh with residents.
