Summerdyne Nursing Home

Have been visiting Summerdyne for a long time and am always impressed with the level of care and activities. Staff are always polite and efficient with a good variety of activities - including trips out.

My grandmother has been at Summerdyne for about two years and she loves every minute. The activities coordinator is fantastic, providing singers, exercise specialists and hairdressers. My grandmother has never been happier and is loved by all the careers just as if she was their own relative. The staff work so hard to provide 24/7 outstanding care. The hairdresser is amazing as she put a smile back on my grandmother's face as she hasn't had a proper hair cut in over two years. The new manager is brilliant as she makes the effort to get to know everyone who walks in through the door and greets everyone with a smile and manners. Thank you to everyone at Summerdyne for providing the fabulous support and care for my grandmother.

The staff always make you feel welcome and I feel the staff genuinely care. The atmosphere is always pleasant and friendly and I am always made to feel welcome. My relative is happy and feels she is well looked after. I always feel secure that when I leave her she is being well cared for. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work.

Nursing staff and management are very accessible and caring providing regular feedback on his health, wellbeing, days out and organised activities.

I've been visiting my friend for many months now and I've found the staff members very friendly and accommodating. As I'm not a family member there are some questions I'm unable to comment on but overall my impressions are of friendliness and happy surroundings.

My mother has been at Summerdyne for a year and a half and the happiest I have seen her in a long time. The management is excellent and always happy to listen and resolve any problems. The staff are caring and go beyond to deliver care; nothing is ever too much bother. Most important for my mum is the consistency of care and staffing. Keep up the great work!

Have some reservations regarding billing ie, claiming back overpayments could be dealt with more promptly and billing could be easier to understand.

The care my mother has had over the past 4 years has been excellent. There is a family atmosphere which is a great comfort to us as a family. This is not relevant now as my mother has advanced Alzheimer's but initially, when she was more able, we felt that communal space was a bit limited and particularly quiet space but I appreciate this is difficult to resolve.

My wife and I have experience of Summerdyne Nursing Home with two of our relatives and I am pleased to say that over a period of 18 years the very high standards at Summerdyne Nursing Home have been maintained. The key is providing high levels of care to residents is the quality of staff and this has been at a very high standard throughout. Good management and able, experienced compassionate carers is the key to the delivery to residents. Overall, standards in this respect are very high at Summerdyne Nursing Home.

We find the nursing staff are always very proactive.

The staff at the home were all professional and completely competent in dealing with the care required for my mother. It was evident that her time in Summerdyne Nursing Home was the very best that it could be. The nursing staff were always very supportive of all members of my family when they visited. We visited every day for 3 months and not once did we feel that we were a burden or in the way. I would highly recommend choosing this home for any relative as its cleanliness, professionalism and fantastic staff are rarely equalled.

My review is that the care home is very clean and both management and staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The care home is more like a big happy family and everyone who works there are very friendly and helpful and give 110% they work very hard and are a credit to you. I know that when I go home that my mom is safe and cared for and my mum has settled in well. So I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work that you all do.

Summerdyne is a very happy, friendly home. Staff are excellent. Rooms are lovely and homely, clean and tidy. My Mom has been very well cared for in her time there.

A very well run nursing home which provides outstanding person-centred care. The manager ensures a very homely atmosphere for the residents.

Sadly, my mum died suddenly but peacefully in July 2017 having lived very happily at Summerdyne Nursing Home for 2 years. Her end of life care was excellent. The support and respect given to me and my family at such a difficult time was truly comforting which helped us come to terms with her sudden death and enabled us to start the grieving process.

I cannot thank all the staff, both day and night staff, enough for the care and love they gave my Mum during her recovery.

When Mum came to Summerdyne for 2 weeks respite care we found the home to be full of life and warmth, with a very friendly feel to the place. Her room was lovely and homely, fresh, bright and airy. The carers were attentive and kind and the manager is a lovely lady. We were always welcomed as visitors and offered tea/coffee. My brother even managed to get a meal there with Mum!

Also when we initially looked round care homes, we were able to randomly drop in (no appointment needed) and were given a coffee, a tour of the place and had a very informative chat with a lovely nurse who was extremely knowledgeable about dementia. When we left, although there's no denying Mum was glad to return home (there's no place like home!) she only had good things to say about her stay, and when the time comes for more respite we won't hesitate to use Summerdyne.

Summerdyne has a very homely atmosphere, the staff are always welcoming and helpful, always attending to residents' needs in a very caring way.

During periods of illness care has been taken to ensure adequate nourishment and hydration has been delivered, resulting in speedy recovery, along with medical care of course.

I would like to say a big 'thank you' to all members of staff for the wonderful job that they do.

It is a huge relief to all the family that my mother in law is a resident at Summerdyne.

Wonderful staff, who treat all of the residents with care and patience. The manager Tula ensures that the home runs well with a firm professional manner but with a kind and considerate aspect to her staff and residents.

The food is wonderful and varied. Activities are regular and plentiful, targeted at all of the residents.

The home is very clean and unlike a lot of homes we have looked at, does not suffer the same unpleasant smells, attributed to the cleaning staff who work so hard.

Any issues are dealt with promptly, although since my mother in law has been resident at Summerdyne (18 months ) they have been too few to mention.

Excellent and loving care for my dying father. He passed away well cared for and peacefully. Staff also very good with my incontinent mother when she visited him. Regularly saw the same staff and was kept informed about his condition. A stark contrast to his treatment under the NHS.

Searched 'far and wide' for this care home for my cousin, who suffered a devastating stroke at the age of 62 years, resulting in total disability and blindness. She has been very happy and contented at Summerdyne for 6 years, despite her condition. The management is superb. Staff appointments are made with the greatest of care. TLC is second to none - from all members of staff, alongside an excellent standard of medical expertise and attention to every detail regarding the residents' welfare.
