Mom went in to the Lawns Nursing Home at the end of November 2025, since being there she has put on weight and has made such good progress, I cannot fault the home or the staff at all, it is a wonderful happy place and feel so lucky that mom got a place there. It's the best decision that we could have
made.

Thank you.

A wonderful place to work/ volunteer. I was welcomed with open arms. I started at the end of the summer and usually go in twice a week. The residents are always clean and dignified. The staff are attentive and truly caring. The managers/ admin staff are all fantastic and supportive of us and the residents.
It's a lovely atmosphere. One of a kind care home that truly deserves positive recognition. All staff work in an inclusive, person-centred way which helps the residents to remain independent as possible for as long as possible and to keep up positive mental well-being.

My mother in law spent over 5 years at Summerdyne and she was very happy there.
She was well looked after and the staff treated her like family, she struggled to communicate however the staff spent time and effort getting to know her, chatting to her and ensuring she had the opportunity to communicate
her needs.
Sadly she passed away after a long battle and we are so grateful to Summerdyne for all the care and love they showed her over the years and in her final days. They made such a difference to her life and made it easier for us as a family knowing how well she was cared for.
Thank you.

My mum has started displaying very challenging behaviour lately. The whole team remain kind, caring and professional. On Sunday her mood and the weather improved and so she was wrapped up snuggly and taken out briefly. She enjoyed herself so much and was just so happy. Also during a period of extreme
anxiety a member of staff made the effort to search out prayers specific to her religion in an effort to comfort her. I am so extremely humbled by all the staff's continued care of my of my dear mum.
Reply from Charmaine Denham, Registered Home Manager at West Eaton Nursing and Residential homeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review, we are so glad that the team was able to support her in both her moments of anxiety and joy, and that they were able to bring her comfort through something as personal as her religion. It's wonderful to know that, even in challenging times, we've been able to create moments of happiness for her and will continue to provide the best care we can.

Mum moved into the lawns in February from another care home where we had a bad experience. Mel was great in helping us move mum and as soon as we arrived I just knew things would be good and they were. The staff are so caring and get to know each resident so well knowing their likes and dislikes and
ways to support them emotionally. Mum had limited mobility but was still included in everything they did. There are so many activities going on and Kirsty always cheered everyone up. The personal care was always provided as and when it should be. The nurses were always there when we wanted to discuss anything. Everyone was so kind the cleaners the handy man the reception absolutely everyone. At the end of mums journey every one was there and nothing was too much trouble and my mum and our family were supported so well. I am forever grateful to all of you for providing a loving home for my mum and giving us the opportunity to make some great memories in the time she was with you. Thank you.

My mum was at the The Lawns Nursing Home from October 2025 after a long stay in hospital. Straight away she was treated with respect and given back her dignity. She was well cared for, kept clean and tidy. Had her hair done and nails painted, which she enjoyed. She sat at the table for meals with friends
she made and enjoyed the conversation over a glass of wine. The staff were wonderful, nothing to much trouble, made her laugh again. All this made my Mum short stay pleasurable.

We were very happy with The Lawns. The staff are all lovely. They made mum feel welcome and helped her to settle in. The staff ensure that the care each resident receives is personalised to their needs and they are super patient whilst doing this. There was always something going on and it was mum's
choice to join in or not. She enjoyed the food and thought the "house" was beautiful. We were never concerned for her safety or wellbeing which was a huge relief after she'd been struggling- but determined -to stay in her own home. Her room was nice and she enjoyed having assisted showers (something she refused at home!) and she even had her hair done. Personally, I enjoyed chatting with other residents and staff and always felt welcome when I arrived to visit.

Our Mum lived at Newstead for 4 years and over that time her health condition meant she gradually became more frail until, sadly, she passed away in September 2025. During that time Mum's changing needs were well catered for-even when her involvement in group activities lessened the Activities team
would spend time with Mum on a 1:1 basis. The carers were very good and supported Mum with her daily needs and established and maintained a good rapport with Mum and the family. The care Mum received in her final days was exceptional and much appreciated by my sisters and myself. Thank you to all the staff at Newstead.

My time here at West Eaton has been a rollercoaster for me. I can honestly say it has been a joy to be here. Each member of staff, from cleaner to manager, has played a part in getting me well and back to my old self. I had lost all ability to live. I wasn't taking my insulin (Type 1) or pills I slept
in a chair for over 2 years. Now I sleep in a bed and take my insulin and pills on time. All the staff each have a special give. I love having a bath with all the bubbles as I don't have one at home. I have shed a few tears and had many a cuddle. They all show true happiness and love in their jobs. They are so all dedicated to every patient even the grumpy ones. The food is like a 4 star restaurant. I love you all and thank you so much.

My mother moved to West Eaton in August 2025. It has been a joy to have her cared for professionally with courtesy, love and as one of the family. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and the evident ethos at the home is to make the lives of the residents as enjoyable, positive, fun, stimulating
and interesting as possible. Everyone is catered for individually and personally. The admission process was easy and straightforward with the necessary support along the way. Everyone from the kitchen up to management works as a team, and as soon as one enters West Eaton, visitors feel genuinely welcome and included. My mother particularly enjoys the beautiful garden and is taken out frequently.
Reply from Charmaine Denham, Registered Home Manager at West Eaton Nursing and Residential homeThank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We're genuinely pleased to hear that your mother has settled well at West Eaton and that you've felt supported from the very beginning of the admission process. Our team works hard to maintain a culture where residents are treated with dignity, warmth and genuine family-style care, so your feedback really reinforces that we're moving in the right direction. It's encouraging to hear that the garden and regular outings have made a positive impact on your mother's day-to-day experience. Creating an environment that is engaging, uplifting and tailored to each individual is exactly what we strive for. We truly appreciate your kind words about the whole team-every department plays its part, and your recognition means a great deal to us. Thank you again for your trust in West Eaton.

My mother moved into West Eaton when she was no longer able to look after herself and stayed there until her death, aged 95. While she became increasingly immobile and her eyesight and hearing failed, she took part in the many activities the staff and volunteers put on, both inside the house and on
occasional excursions. She had her own room, light and airy, which we decorated with items from her house. She was able to watch her favourite programmes on TV in her room.
I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and understanding they gave to my mother. They were wonderful throughout: they treated her as a friend or as one of their own family. She was mentally alert right until the end, and came to see West Eaton as her home rather than just "a" home. We found the management and staff friendly, approachable, and ready to make little changes to make her life more comfortable. I have visited several care homes recently and can definitely recommend West Eaton as the very best.
Reply from Charmaine Denham, Registered Home Manager at West Eaton Nursing and Residential homeThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We're truly honoured that your mother chose to make West Eaton her home, and it means a great deal to know that she felt comfortable, cared for, and part of our family during her time with us. Our team takes great pride in creating a supportive and homely environment where every resident can enjoy meaningful activities and maintain their individuality, so your words about the staff's kindness and understanding are especially appreciated. It was a privilege to care for your mother, and we're grateful to have shared that part of her life with her and your family.

and willing to chat. She always said that it felt like home.
The staff at the home were also always ready to help us too, the family and to take time to talk to us. We found the whole atmosphere relaxed and friendly.

The Lawns

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We were fortunate enough to get our Dad a place at the Lawns for some much needed Respite care, this was all done with little notice for all involved. The Team at the Lawns made it happen and the staff were very warm & welcoming. They had an efficient caring and nursing team whom Dad grew very fond
of, we felt he was well looked after and incredibly safe in their care during this time. As family members, we were fully encouraged to be involved and informed in all decisions and we were also well looked after during dad's stay. There is a very happy content buzz about this nursing home from both residents and staff.
Reply from Melanie Dawson, Manager at The LawnsThankyou for such a lovely review I will make sure the team hear your kind words. It was a pleasure to be the solution for care Mel
