Abberton Manor is an established, well-respected nursing home, located in a listed Queen Anne Manor house, set in acres of formal lawns and woodland, enjoying unspoiled views over the Roman River Valley. The home, which is gold standard End of Life commended, provides professional nursing care within a genuine family setting, with long-serving staff having been trained to significantly high levels. The home is part of a small, privately owned group of six, high-quality homes.

Professionals offer long-term care, holiday or respite care to enable family carers to take a break, and postoperative or convalescent care for clients recovering from illness or operation. The home is at the forefront of the MyLife project, where care emphasis is on the quality of life and ensuring that individual wishes and needs are at the forefront of everything. The team believes that its activities programme is varied and comprehensive, aimed at showing that a care home is a positive choice to be made. Families and friends are encouraged to visit at any time of day and be an active part of the home and its daily life.

Husband spent nearly 3 weeks at Abberton Manor before he passed away - The staff were so lovely with their care and empathy, couldn't have wished for a better nursing home for my husband. Wonderful care, gracious surroundings and care that actually cared for the well being of their residents - made

Abberton Manor is a spacious, peaceful nursing home set in beautiful surroundings. Dad has a lovely room which is always clean and tidy. Staff are aware of his medical needs and keep us well informed. Meals are a highlight of the day and I can personally recommend the chocolate and pear tart! Staff
are extremely friendly and take time to tell me what Dad has been doing. This week he had the opportunity to take part in various activities including exercises, fudge tasting, bingo, chess, a picnic, weekly visit from local school children and dog cuddling! An outstanding home with exceptional staff.

Having moved from another care home can not believe the difference. This one is so efficient and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and they go the extra mile. My husband seems really happy there and everyone seems involved in the care and attention.

She had a beautiful room well maintained and equipped for her needs..Her complex dietary requirements catered for, Providing something especially cooked when requested.
Her medical needs nursed in a kind and professional manor.The
carers lovely to her.
She was given the opportunity to take part in the activities provided.
The relationship support and kindness shown to myself from office, management, housekeeping, chefs, entertainment, carers and maintenance

My brother has been at the manor for about 3 months and he has settled in completely - this is a testament to the excellent, professional care and that staff genuinely care about the welfare and happiness of the residents. In the background so to speak, the rooms and facilities are very well kept. The
meals and food and ample opportunity for residents social interaction if wished. Also in this background is a comforting, lasting hint of the manor and grounds grand past.

My mum started at Abberton Manor in March 24.
Mum was not well at all at the start of her stay but 3 months on Mum is doing amazing.
All the team are amazing.
A special mention for one member of staff in particular on the entertainment team who my mum loves.

Always made to feel welcome. Staff are friendly, always available to answer any questions.

I moved here at the end of October 2023 after 28 years in a certain area. My brother lives close by and I asked him and his wife to find me a nursing/care home in their area. After some time and many visits to other places, they decided Abberton Manor fulfilled my exacting requirements, not too many
residents, great architecture, rooms with high ceilings and in spring/summer a garden to sit in. It has been an eye-opening experience for me, the staff day and night (nursing, catering) in fact everyone from top to toe has been very caring and attentive at all times. I cannot answer value for money as I have no input for this, my brother deals with all financial matters.

Abberton Manor Nursing Home is like a home from home where you very quickly sink into the ambience which is like a "warm blanket on a cold day". The bedrooms with bathrooms are so comfortable but the best feature of Abberton Manor, without a doubt, is the staff who I would describe as friendly and caring.
Care homes, by their nature, are expensive but Abberton Manor stands "head and shoulders" above the norm. Very well done!

I will always be grateful to every member of staff at Abberton Manor for looking after my brother during the last few weeks of his life with such care and compassion but also with plenty of lightheartedness and humour, which he really enjoyed.
I am also grateful to the staff for their kindness in looking
after me too and for all the cups of tea and coffee and the many much-needed hugs.
Walking into Abberton Manor felt like walking into a lovely big family home. It was obviously an amazing place in its heyday, and now the grandeur is a little faded, but somehow that just adds to its warm and comforting feel.
Abberton Manor is a lovely place full of lovely, caring people.

My Grandmother was admitted here from hospital and to be honest any care setting would not have been a preferred option. However she looks well looked after when I visit her, she is looking far healthier than when she was living at home so obviously needed that level of support in hindsight. Staff have
been very welcoming, friendly and helpful both in the flesh and over the phone. It's a lovely environment to visit and is clean tidy and homely also allowing dogs to visit, which is great for both myself and my grandmother. I do feel she is safe and in a good environment where she is thought of very fondly. Thank you.

Following a serious fall at home last August, it was soon apparent that my mum was in need of 24-hour nursing care. I had no hesitation in approaching Abberton Manor as they had previously nursed my dad so well during the last weeks of his life in 2020. I was so relieved to find that they had space
for mum, and she was soon settled in a lovely room in which she could begin her recovery. All of the staff were devoted to mum's care and well-being and treated her with such kindness, patience and compassion during those first weeks when she was in so much pain. The staff at Abberton nursed mum back to health and gently encouraged her to get up and dressed every day so she was able to eat her meals in the lovely dining room, and enjoy the comings and goings and activities in the homely lounge. I was so pleased to see mum regaining her weight and strength. Mum now regards Abberton as her home and I am very happy that she is now there permanently where she continues to thrive.

My Mother is staying and being looked after at Abberton Manor. When she arrived she was in a sorry state. The nurses there have brought her back to good health. What strikes me so clearly about this place, is that the staff genuinely care for my Mother. She is very happy there and I feel one cannot
