Abberton Manor is an established, well-respected nursing home, located in a listed Queen Anne Manor house, set in acres of formal lawns and woodland, enjoying unspoiled views over the Roman River Valley. The home, which is gold standard End of Life commended, provides professional nursing care within a genuine family setting, with long-serving staff having been trained to significantly high levels. The home is part of a small, privately owned group of six, high-quality homes.

Professionals offer long-term care, holiday or respite care to enable family carers to take a break, and postoperative or convalescent care for clients recovering from illness or operation. The home is at the forefront of the MyLife project, where care emphasis is on the quality of life and ensuring that individual wishes and needs are at the forefront of everything. The team believes that its activities programme is varied and comprehensive, aimed at showing that a care home is a positive choice to be made. Families and friends are encouraged to visit at any time of day and be an active part of the home and its daily life.

The property benefits from a choice of spacious and elegant lounges and a large hall, and also has a dining room for those who wish to dine in company.

Pleased with standards of care from day 1. Mum has been resident for 2 years and each problem has been dealt with as it comes from my mother. Staff friendly and approachable not defencing when confronted with difficult issues. Home very well maintained. Menu's are varied, healthy with fresh veg and
fruit. Good social activities to stimulate the residents. Have outside entertainment in and residents who can and wish to are taken out in the homes minibus. Very happy to include residents family in care, given particularly in socialising and outings. Remain involved in care planning, as are the residents when able.
