My mother spent her last 12 days in Abberton Manor. During this time, her care was excellent. All the staff, especially the nurses and carers, were warm, kind and caring. The family were extremely grateful that the staff ensured she was comfortable and pain-free throughout her short stay. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, which I appreciate is a very painful time for you and all of your family. I am pleased to know that your mum was settled and comfortable whilst she was with us. We felt privileged to have been able to support your mum on her next journey....
My Grandmother was admitted here from hospital and to be honest any care setting would not have been a preferred option. However she looks well looked after when I visit her, she is looking far healthier than when she was living at home so obviously needed that level of support in hindsight. Staff have been very welcoming, friendly and helpful both in the flesh and over the phone. It's a lovely environment to visit and is clean tidy and homely also allowing dogs to visit, which is great for both myself and my grandmother. I do feel she is safe and in a good environment where she is thought of very fondly. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your kind comments, your nan is lovely and we have taken her to our hearts. We are very happy to hear that you are pleased she has settled so well. We look forward to looking after her during her time with us at Abberton Manor. I will pass your kind comments to the team who I am sure will be delighted with the feedback.
Following a serious fall at home last August, it was soon apparent that my mum was in need of 24-hour nursing care. I had no hesitation in approaching Abberton Manor as they had previously nursed my dad so well during the last weeks of his life in 2020. I was so relieved to find that they had space for mum, and she was soon settled in a lovely room in which she could begin her recovery. All of the staff were devoted to mum's care and well-being and treated her with such kindness, patience and compassion during those first weeks when she was in so much pain. The staff at Abberton nursed mum back to health and gently encouraged her to get up and dressed every day so she was able to eat her meals in the lovely dining room, and enjoy the comings and goings and activities in the homely lounge. I was so pleased to see mum regaining her weight and strength. Mum now regards Abberton as her home and I am very happy that she is now there permanently where she continues to thrive.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review, myself and the team greatly appreciate your feedback, we are very pleased to hear that both you and your mum are happy that she is at Abberton Manor and we hope she continues to live her life as she pleases in her latter years. I will pass your lovely comments on to the team, once again thank you for your kind remarks.
My Mother is staying and being looked after at Abberton Manor. When she arrived she was in a sorry state. The nurses there have brought her back to good health. What strikes me so clearly about this place, is that the staff genuinely care for my Mother. She is very happy there and I feel one cannot ask for more than that.
Thank you for taking the time to send a review, we greatly appreciate your feedback, Abberton Manor and the team strive to create an environment of warmth and care, our philosophy of care for the home and our extended family is to enable all our residents to live their lives, how they used and how...
Communication is also not great. Many emails were sent without any reply. Phone calls were made, without answering and the amount of times I rang the doorbell and no answer for ages. Not great when it's cold, windy, rainy and you have a 90yr old visiting and waiting outside on the doorstep.
I also found that many items of clothing and personal belongings went missing. Majority of staff were pleasant, however, the odd one or two were rude to visitors.
Thank you for your review, we are sorry you feel this way and we endeavour to cater for many needs. However, we believe in the right setting for the right person and we hope your relative is settled in their new home and it's more suitable for her current requirements. As a company, we value open communication and feedback. Many thanks, Heritage Manor.
The staff were very kind, busy and helpful. The food was excellent and never went hungry. The house was lovely and had nice gardens. A shower in my room would have been nice but appreciate it is an 'old' house. Would like to have gone out for a visit somewhere.
Thank you for your kind comments. It was a delight to have you stay with us, and your musical skills made us all smile as it sounded throughout the home, I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you again.
Our mother was well looked after during her stay at Abberton. The staff were extremely caring and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Mother always looked so comfortable. I particularly like the way they spoke to Mum to engage her in what was happening. Thank you to all the staff at Abberton.
Thank you for your kind comments, I will ensure these are passed on to the rest of the team.
The food was very appetising and always made you feel hungry. Her room was of a very good size and pleasant with very pleasant views onto the gardens. Very relaxing.
The staff are very friendly and caring. Thank you. Due to a developing illness my mother moved on from Abberton. She stills remembers some of her days there, which is nice to hear. I even shed some tears when my mother left. I do recommend Abberton Manor.
I do hope your Mum has settled into her new environment, we are just at the end of a phone if you need anything.
All of the staff are caring, professional, and extremely supportive. My mother has the best possible care with staff going above and beyond to ensure the safety and happiness of their residents. The food is excellent with a varied menu, and the rooms are bright and comfortable, I couldn’t be more grateful for the staff who genuinely seem to care not only about their residents but the families too, thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind review, we always strive to accommodate the needs of our residents ensuring they live their life to the fullest, I will pass on your kind words to the rest of the team.
Abberton Manor Nursing Home is a beautiful care home both inside and out! The gardens are always kept looking beautiful and are fully accessible to the residents and family visiting should they wish to use them. Abberton Manor Nursing Home is a very safe and clean home and the staff always go above and beyond to give their service users the care and support they need to live their lives to their absolute fullest. The activities are always great fun! With staff always coming up with new ideas to give the residents a great time! Should they choose to join in. Thank you for your kind review, Abberton Manor is more than a nursing home it is a home to our lovely residents and their families, we are privileged that we have been given the opportunity to share our wonderful home and amazing staff with residents like your mum, we look forward to seeing you as always, and I will pass your kind comments onto the team.
We would like to thank all the staff who took care of our mum in the last week of her life. The care and compassion shown to us all especially Mum was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words of appreciation for Abberton Manor and our team, although your mum was only with us for a short time she was embraced with warmth and care, although she was poorly her character shone through. Myself and the team wish you and your family health and happiness for the future.
Nice to see the home open for visiting again without appointments. Some new faces, possibly agency. All appeared calm at the point of the visit, and all staff encountered were polite. I fed my mother for the first time in nearly two years. I feel the home is gradually returning to normal.
Staff are very caring and helpful - Dad appears well looked after. Visiting is difficult post-covid. Hard to get a convenient time to fit around work due to limited visiting.
Thank you for your review, I will ensure your comments are passed to the rest of the team.
Everyone at Abberton Manor was kind and friendly, professional and caring. Dad's every need was recognised and he was assisted and enabled to maintain as much independence as was possible. He and I viewed all the staff as friends. I thank you all for your love and care of Dad.
Thank you very much for your kind words, we also viewed your dad as a very dear friend. I will ensure your kinds words is passed on to the rest of the team.
I thought that the care my mum had was good. Staff were always helpful and kept us up to date with any changes to my mum's condition. She was kept clean and staff dealt with her with a sense of humour which she appreciated.
Thank you ever so much for your kind comments, we will ensure this is passed to the whole team.
The fabric of the building is in need of some refurbishment as do the bedrooms and public areas that we saw, especially in view of the monthly charge. There were some miscommunication issues internally but generally, the nursing staff were attentive and compassionate.
Thank you for your comments, Abberton Manor is currently undergoing a refurbishment, but all comments are appreciated.
My father is terminally ill and my elderly mother could no longer cope. He wanted to go into the hospice but they had no space so he agreed to try Abberton Manor. We are so pleased with the level of care he has received and he is very happy. The manager has been excellent and so helpful, she and her team have gone the extra mile to make my dad feel comfortable and at home. Not being able to visit at the moment is unfortunate and hard but we feel very reassured that he is being well looked after. He said the food is very good too. A huge thank you to you all.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure your comments reach the rest of the team. We look forward to welcoming you back into Abberton Manor as soon as we can.
It id difficult to review as we have been unable to visit due to covid. However, we have been kept up to date regarding my mum's condition and her general well being. There is always someone at the end of the phone who will answer my questions and put me at ease. I feel very confident that she is being well looked after.
Thank you for your comments, I will ensure your comments are fed back to the team.
The team at Abberton Manor all do an amazing job caring for Mum. They are all very friendly, caring and work incredibly hard to support Mum and make her comfortable at this difficult time in her life. We are very grateful and have nothing but admiration for what they all do.
Kind Regards.
Always a lovely, friendly, inviting environment. Very homely, caring staff and management are very helpful. Definitely would recommend to others looking to put their relatives into a real home from home.
Thank you for your kinds words, I will ensure your comments are passed to the rest of the team. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything at all.

I have worked in healthcare for 33 years, been a qualified nurse for 13 years and have worked in a senior capacity for the past 7 years. I love making connections with others and making a difference.

I have been in finance and administrative roles for many, many years. Before I joined Abberton, I worked for a national children's charity in Scotland and fully understand the importance of Person Centred Care. I love working with the team at Abberton and supporting our residents and their families, and friends as well.

I started at Abberton Manor in 2017 as a Care Assistant and was promoted to a Team Leader in 2022. At the end of 2023, I was promoted to Head Housekeeper.

Paul has many years of maintenance and site management experience. He is also a highly skilled carpenter and a crucial member of the team.
