The Lawns Nursing Home, in Kempsey, near Worcester, is an award-winning home with a reputation for the highest standards of care. Nominated for the Gold Standard Framework for provision of End of Life Care "Care Home of the Year" award in 2019, and in October 2022 reaccredited with the Platinum Award for the next 3 years.

The home opened a new purpose-built extension of 22 beds in late 2018 which caters for both residential and nursing residents as well as a recent extensive refurbishment of the Manor House which is the oldest part of the home. Staff believe the best way for you to find out more about the home is to speak to the resident ambassador, residents and their families, to read the reviews for the care that is provided and of course to come and visit the home, open any time.

Family values are important to The Lawns, and they pride themselves on providing a warm and friendly homely environment supporting both residents and their families. The lifestyle and well-being team are dedicated to providing a varied and full programme of events, ranging from individual beauty therapies to charity dog shows to themed weeks and evenings. They encourage independent living as much as possible, from being involved in the preparation of meals to getting out of the home where possible. Families are always welcome to also attend outings.

Care is delivered by a registered nursing team and long-serving care and ancillary teams.

The Lawns specialises in providing end-of-life care and has obtained Gold Standard Framework Platinum status in this speciality. They also care for younger adults with a range of conditions, including acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions.

The Lawns was always clean, tidy and fresh when entering and throughout the whole building. The garden areas were pleasant to sit and enjoy in the warmer weather. The information boards were very useful to see the upcoming events.
When my husband first went into The Lawns, the staff were very keen
to know as much information about him as possible, to allow them to engage and offer him appropriate activities where possible, and this proved very useful as time went on.
The staff were always very pleasant, cheerful and professional. It was apparent that the care they gave was more than the basic 'meeting the needs'. They always showed respect, dignity and great understanding to my husband, and in the final few days, they helped the whole family understand and come to terms with the situation.

I am the son of one of the residents who has been there since June 2025.
My Mother had been extremely ill in hospital prior to attending the Lawns, the Lawns Manager was extremely helpful and friendly and visited her in hospital prior to arranging to accommodate her at the Lawns.
All the staff at
the Lawns are very helpful,kind and understand that each resident has different needs.
The care given to my Mum has been exceptional and I am truly grateful for all they have done for her.

I have had the opportunity over the years to have access to a number of care homes, this is the best, clean, tidy and no smells often found in other places.

My sister in law was transferred from Hospital to The Lawns. The level of care she received was exceptional. She was always kept clean and tidy, every need was met. Room always kept spotless. Nursing, carers, occupational therapists, Management and Admin staff always ready to answer any questions without
delay. Many activities going on here which is good therapy for those wishing to partake. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home they go above and beyond your expectations. This care home is very well run.

During a very difficult period for our family, The Lawns Nursing Home in Kempsey became a true sanctuary for my father over the course of three months while he was extremely unwell. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism shown by every member of staff - from carers and nurses to the management
team - was nothing short of exceptional.


From the very first day, the team treated my father with dignity, patience, and warmth. They took the time to understand his needs, communicate clearly with our family, and ensure that he was not only safe and comfortable, but genuinely cared for. Their attention to detail, responsiveness to medical issues, and consistent emotional support made an enormous difference to his well-being - and to our peace of mind.


What truly stood out was the genuine kindness and dedication that permeated every interaction. The staff went above and beyond, always with a smile and a kind word. Simply amazing people! Thankyou to you all.

I cannot believe it's one week today since my Mum passed away at The Lawns. We as a family and me as her daughter will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff who loved and cared for her.
Mum's room at The Lawns was "her home " for the last three years. Bright cheerful and surrounded by her own
belongings we knew she was now safe and secure with excellent nursing care.
When Mum went into The Lawns she had ulcers on both of her legs - through the care she was given they became a distant memory.
The whole purpose of The Lawns community was to make the final years of her life comfortable and contented for which we have enormous gratitude. We would highly recommend this home.

My father spent a few weeks at The Lawns on end of life care. The level of care he received was excellent. All staff showed a high level of empathy and professionalism throughout his stay. What this meant to the family cannot be underestimated, knowing his last days were in comfort and pain free.

Dad who is 91 has been a resident now at the Lawns for 2 years. His care is second to none. Dads dementia is slowly changing and we as a family are grateful that this is his home now where he is cared for and wonderfully fed ( the food always smells delicious) . Dad is content and above all safe.
Everyone when you enter the Lawns smiles and acknowledges you and it is spotlessly clean. Thank you for looking after our dad.

My mom came into The Lawns in November 2024 due to failing sight. The home and staff have bent over backwards to accommodate Mom's issues as she also has a complication called Charles Bonnett Syndrome. After 3 room moves we got a room that is perfect for Mom. All the staff, including housekeepers and
catering have learnt about Mom's issues so they can support her better.
I couldn't ask for better for Mom.

We were lucky enough to have Mum transferred to The Lawns from the hospital, where she had been for 2 weeks in a tiny room. She was told there was nothing that could be done to cure her. And she was end of life.
From the moment Mum went to The Lawns, she looked so much more comfortable. Her room was
bright and cheerful, clean and tidy. Mum was treated wonderfully. All the staff showed so much care and attention to Mum, giving me and my siblings a relief knowing when we left Mum she was so well cared for. Mum was very aware of what was happening and what was going to happen. Mum was kept clean and fresh and every bit of dignity was given to her. Mum was treated with so much care and compassion, right to the end. Can't thank the manager and her wonderful staff enough, as they helped us through saying goodbye to our Mum a little easier.

My 91 year old dad went into respite at The Lawns, 2 weeks ago after being fast tracked through due to another chest infection and being diagnosed as end of life. From day 1, The Lawns have provided the most incredible care and attention to dads needs. After being bed bound at home for 14 months, he
has been able to sit in a chair with the other residents, have a shower instead of bed bath, eat meals at the dining room table and have amazing social interaction from the team of staff and residents. His room is like a hotel room. Beautifully furnished for his personal belongings, TV on the wall and everything he could possibly need. The lawns is professionally and carefully run and the team led by Mel are incredible. I havn't seen dad so happy and content for a long time and its all due to his care received by this amazing Nursing Home. Thank you.

Recently had a bereavement with the friend that I visited on a regular basis. The Lawns communicated that my friend had sadly deteriorated. On visiting she was very comfortable, pain-free and treated with the greatest dignity. I too was cared for by staff - asked if I wished for drinks or anything else.
Cannot fault the staff for all their kindness and support.

My father entered The Lawns for "end of life care". The quality of the care he received from all of the staff on the nursing floor was amazing. My father was bedridden which limited what he was able to do. However, the home offered person-centered care and the staff spent time talking to him about his
passions. He was always treated with kindness and he experienced a dignified and respectful end to his long life.

The care and support offered to my relative was kind, compassionate and caring. They were well aware of Mum's needs and wishes, and always ensured her voice was heard. Staff were excellent in anticipating needs and there was a very varied activity programme that was always very good humoured and creative.

After nearly 2 years living in The Lawns my mum sadly passed away 11 days ago. The care and loving she received during her time there was second to none with attention to detail by each and every team. The emotions when your loved one passes are extreme and the process itself tough, The Lawns made this
as easy as possible. They treated Mum as a person and dealt with her in a dignified, respectful, caring and kindly manner and looked after my sister and I throughout what was a very difficult day allowing us time to be with Mum and helping wherever they could. The care home manager has kept in regular touch ever since helping us with arrangements, registering Mum's death on our behalf and answering every question we have had. Thank you so much all of you for everything you have done for Mum and for us over the past few years we really felt part of the Lawns family. This is a wonderful place to spend your final years.

I am most grateful for the love, care and attention my wife received during her two-year stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff in particular show great kindness. It was notable that I was always greeted by name whenever I visited. This is a large enterprise but it is run like a family unit.

Professional caring and highly competent. They absolutely know what they are doing and are good at it. Well run and has a very team-driven atmosphere.
Always willing to answer questions. Very peaceful environment for those who need that, with a hive of activity for those who want and are able to get
involved in the many activities offered.
They have been extremely caring of my mother, treating her with kindness, respect, and dignity. I particularly like the computer-based reporting system that can be remotely accessed for updates on the resident.

My Cousin for whom I have POA has been a Resident at The Lawns for over four years. Throughout that time she has been cared for well and her health issues are handled with dexterity and proficiency. I live over 200 miles from Kempsey but have confidence that she is in safe hands.
When visiting we have
been met with courteous and friendly staff, who go about the building and duties in a professional and dedicated way.
My cousin considers The Lawns to be her home and I am happy that she is a resident there.
