Mel and her team at The Lawns looked after my Auntie from January 2025 until August 2026 . She was very poorly unable to walk when she arrived after a spell in hospital over Christmas. The care , love and support she received gave her a new lease of life and she really enjoyed her time there . She has some quite complex medical issues but Mel overhauled her medication and pain relief with her GP that meant she wasn't in constant pain anymore and got her walking again . She enjoyed the activities so much and the staff always made a fuss of her . She has now moved to a care home near my mum ( her sister ) as the journey to visit every week at 83 was becoming harder . Mel handled the whole handover process so well and personally bought all her personal effects over and made sure she was settled in her new home . Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Mel and your team are amazing and I would definitely recommend The Lawns to anyone looking for care for their loved ones x

Dad was resident at The Lawns for 5 weeks for end of life care after a stay in hospital. Dad and I were warmly welcomed on his arrival and every effort made to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. All the staff are so caring and spent time chatting with Dad which he loved after living on his own for long time. In his words' everyone here is amazing, their lovely smiles make my day'.

Thank you everyone at The Lawns, Dad was so lucky to be a resident with you for the last few weeks of his life.

Our Mum was looked after by The Lawns for a relatively short period in June 2026. The care she received was first class. She loved her room, the excellent food and the nursing care was A1.

Sadly she passed away within a month of moving there but it did mean that the last few weeks of her life she was looked after like royalty. Wonderful home and very highly recommended.

When I began looking for a care home for my mum, who has Alzheimers, The Lawns was instantly my first choice as it had such a lovely, friendly and warm atmosphere that I hadn't felt from other care homes. I was gutted that they had no vacancies, and when a room become available I was delighted as I knew this was a setting mum could be happy in. Initially mum was confused and distressed and it was quite upsetting but the staff are absolutely fantastic, and settled her. Not being local myself, I'm able to telephone and staff always find mum for me to speak to. I follow their social media page where I can see what activities she has been doing, and its lovely to see the residents partaking and enjoying a variety of activities. Mum enjoys the food and has put on weight, has made friends and is always sat chatting when I visit. Its such a hard decision placing a relative in care and the staff have been so friendly and caring both to mum and me and I honestly can't thank them enough.

Allen, my step father in law was in need of urgent care.
From the moment I contacted the home, everything moved quickly and smoothly.
I remember it being such a relief to see Michelle at Allen's home that afternoon.
We took great comfort that Allen was being cared for by such lovely people, who had the knowledge to care for his needs.
He needed to gain weight and a plan was put in place quickly to ensure this.
He loved the food and even discovered a likeness for gravy !
We cannot praise The Lawns enough.
The layout is good very easy for residents to navigate. Plenty of communal spaces for family and friends to gather.
Residents rooms are spacious with ensuites.
Special shout out to all the carers that made Allen's last few weeks comfortable a big Thank you.

My father went in to The Lawns in May last year. He was welcomed the minute we walked through the door. The staff were very attentive and settled him in his room. He seemed very happy being there. I did visit him quite often and was welcomed by management and staff. Always a smiling face on reception when I arrived and they were very helpful in helping me with queries. He was in there for over twelve months and was looked after well from beginning to end. The staff always rang me if there was a problem or queiry. I'd certainly recommend the home to anyone.

My mother recently joined The Lawns after a urinary tract infection made her unwell. She was so well cared for she has decided to stay. The staff are amazing. So professional and helpful to worried family but kind, caring and empathetic to my beloved mum. The rooms are clean. The staff are exemplary. They listen and respond to requests. My registered blind and almost deaf mother loves it there.

Mum in law has dementia and is no longer able to cope on her own, she lives with my husband and it was her first time in a care home setting. I was a little apprehensive as to how she would settle in for 4 week respite care, but I need not have worried, the staff are all so friendly and supportive. We were made to feel welcome when we visited and from the moment you walk in the door, their is a very homely feeling. Thank you for looking after mum.

Dad was no longer able to live alone being diagnosed with advanced Vascular Dementia. We chose the Lawns as a nursing home having visited without notice and met management and nursing staff, getting a good feeling. Lawns were wonderful in making Dad's discharge from hospital at short notice trouble free, causing him as little stress as possible. Dad arrived at Lawns underweight and frail, with little interest in his surroundings and in engaging with others. He settled in quickly, gained weight and was gently integrated into life at Lawns. He needed nudging to join into activities, which with the sympathetic way his carers and activity staff acted began to happen, they got his sense of humour and he increasingly became his old self. We continued to visit Dad at Lawns without notice and consistently found him being looked after with compassion and genuine interest by the same cohort of carers month in and month out. Lawns End of Life care for Dad was faultless. Thank you.

Thank you all for the wonderful compassionate care that you showed my father in his final two weeks with you. We were so lucky to have you manage his end of life care.

You were all so incredibly kind and caring and I reference you fondly in the eulogy that I am writing.

Many staff had a special touch with dad - being incredibly kind and you certainly helped him to settle in.

We are eternally grateful that we were lucky enough to have you care for our dad when he most needed it. Thank you again so much!

My Mother was an independent Lady who was always self sufficient and hated being a burden on people.
In June 2025 my mother was Transferred to The Lawns after being in Hospital having had an earlier fall.
The care given to my mother compared to her stay in Hospital was Chalk and Cheese, The Lawns staff looked after my mother with kindness, consideration, dedication and some times humour when it was appropriate.
The Lawns Manager went to the Hospital to arrange Mums transfer and to settle her into the Lawns, we are extremely grateful to her for helping us in getting to the best place for Mums onward care.
I visited most days to see Mum and met most of the staff who were really friendly and helpful in settling her into the home and becoming her friends certainly helped make her days more enjoyable.

I cannot sing the praises of the Management or Staff loud enough, they provided excellent service and companionship with a friendly and caring attitude.

Mom went in to the Lawns Nursing Home at the end of November 2025, since being there she has put on weight and has made such good progress, I cannot fault the home or the staff at all, it is a wonderful happy place and feel so lucky that mom got a place there. Mum moved into the lawns in February from another care home where we had a bad experience. Mel was great in helping us move mum and as soon as we arrived I just knew things would be good and they were. The staff are so caring and get to know each resident so well knowing their likes and dislikes and ways to support them emotionally. Mum had limited mobility but was still included in everything they did. There are so many activities going on and Kirsty always cheered everyone up. The personal care was always provided as and when it should be. The nurses were always there when we wanted to discuss anything. Everyone was so kind the cleaners the handy man the reception absolutely everyone. At the end of mums journey every one was there and nothing was too much trouble and my mum and our family were supported so well. I am forever grateful to all of you for providing a loving home for my mum and giving us the opportunity to make some great memories in the time she was with you. Thank you.

My mum was at the The Lawns Nursing Home from October 2025 after a long stay in hospital. Straight away she was treated with respect and given back her dignity. She was well cared for, kept clean and tidy. Had her hair done and nails painted, which she enjoyed. She sat at the table for meals with friends she made and enjoyed the conversation over a glass of wine. The staff were wonderful, nothing to much trouble, made her laugh again. All this made my Mum short stay pleasurable.

We were very happy with The Lawns. The staff are all lovely. They made mum feel welcome and helped her to settle in. The staff ensure that the care each resident receives is personalised to their needs and they are super patient whilst doing this. There was always something going on and it was mum's choice to join in or not. She enjoyed the food and thought the "house" was beautiful. We were never concerned for her safety or wellbeing which was a huge relief after she'd been struggling- but determined -to stay in her own home. Her room was nice and she enjoyed having assisted showers (something she refused at home!) and she even had her hair done. Personally, I enjoyed chatting with other residents and staff and always felt welcome when I arrived to visit.

From the initial enquiry as to a vacancy for end of life care for mum, giving advice and guidance how to achieve the care, to in fact mum being made to feel comfy and welcome all of this only taking a few days. The staff were attentive to both mums needs and meeting expectations of the family, they quickly became familiar with her needs that were ever changing. The staff kept family up to date as care changed. Thank you for making mums final days as comfortable as possible.
