The Lawns Nursing Home, in Kempsey, near Worcester, is an award-winning home with a reputation for the highest standards of care. Nominated for the Gold Standard Framework for provision of End of Life Care "Care Home of the Year" award in 2019, and in October 2022 reaccredited with the Platinum Award for the next 3 years.

The home opened a new purpose-built extension of 22 beds in late 2018 which caters for both residential and nursing residents as well as a recent extensive refurbishment of the Manor House which is the oldest part of the home. Staff believe the best way for you to find out more about the home is to speak to the resident ambassador, residents and their families, to read the reviews for the care that is provided and of course to come and visit the home, open any time.

Family values are important to The Lawns, and they pride themselves on providing a warm and friendly homely environment supporting both residents and their families. The lifestyle and well-being team are dedicated to providing a varied and full programme of events, ranging from individual beauty therapies to charity dog shows to themed weeks and evenings. They encourage independent living as much as possible, from being involved in the preparation of meals to getting out of the home where possible. Families are always welcome to also attend outings.

Care is delivered by a registered nursing team and long-serving care and ancillary teams.

The Lawns specialises in providing end-of-life care and has obtained Gold Standard Framework Platinum status in this speciality. They also care for younger adults with a range of conditions, including acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions.

As someone who visits several care homes in my work as a catholic priest, I can say that The Lawns is one of the best. This is due to: friendly and caring staff, cleanliness of rooms and public areas. Satisfaction from families and residents who are also my parishioners. Spiritual care is a priority
for the staff.

My mother was only in the home for about 3 weeks. In that time we always found the staff friendly and helpful and very considerate of my mother and her needs. The room was very pleasant, there were plenty of activities even though my mother never got a chance to use them.

I and my Brother and Sister were very impressed by the care given to our dad. The staff were very professional and extremely caring. They were also very accommodating when I needed to stay overnight 3 times with my dad.

I feel very happy about the care that my mother has received. The staff have been very patient allowing my mother to express herself despite her communication difficulties. A lot of effort is put into activities to enhance the quality of life of the residents. The staff are very supportive and welcoming

Many thanks to all the staff for organising a Halloween party tea for all the residents and relatives. They all wore fancy dress and decorated the dining room to create a fantastic Halloween atmosphere, even down to the plates and cups. Really wonderful. Thank you

My husband was resident at The Lawns Nursing Home from December 2014 to when he died in March 2015. At all times he was treated both kindly and with dignity. Staff at all times were compassionate and encouraging and generally concerned if he wouldn't eat or became depressed with his condition - (he
had Parkinson's followed by a stroke). Couldn't fault the home, even if at times staffing levels low- appreciate though with best made places this can happen due to illness etc..
