All care is first class as always. Barbara seems very happy at Field House and seems content.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field Housethank you so much for your kind review which is very much appreciated. I notice that in a couple of areas we have failed to garner 5 stars - if you have ideas as to how we can improve, i would be very grateful if you could meet with Anna the manager to share those thoughts . We are always always looking to do even better ! many thanks

Dad has been at Field House for over 3 years now. He is extremely well cared for and very settled. He has a lovely room overlooking the gardens which has recently been redecorated. All the staff are very approachable, kind and attentive. Dad likes to be as independent as possible which the staff respect
but are always on hand to offer assistance if needed. Field House has a very friendly, calm and homely atmosphere. All the staff work incredibly hard and go the extra mile which is much appreciated. Thank you!
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field Housethank you so much for your generous review which i will be sure to pass on to the staff group who i know will be delighted to know that their hard work, caring and loving values are so much appreciated

My 90 year old Mother with advanced dementia has recently moved to Field House due to her previous care home no longer being able to meet her needs.
From the start Anna and all the staff at Field House have been welcoming and my Mother has settled in really well. The reassurance and assistance offered
by all at a stressful time was very much appreciated.
It was extremely worrying having to move my Mother however this has now passed as she is happy, getting involved in the activities and I feel she is being very well looked after.
Thank you to the staff at Field House for all you do.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field Housethank you so much for your very kind review - we are delighted that your mother as settled in so well as a active member of the Field House community.

My mom is Susan, and she first came to Field House on 3rd January 2025. She struggled to settle when she first stayed there, but now... she has come a long way. She's settled, she's joining in with some activities and she's dancing. She's so happy and it's all thanks to all the amazing staff who work
there. Thay are all so caring, kind and lovely to all the residents and to all the families and friends of the residents that come to visit them. Myself and my family want to thank everyone who works there, they are all amazing.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field Housethank you so much for you amazing review - what you have said absolutely sums up what we strive to achieve which is to give every resident the best possible overall quality of life and ensure they really enjoy every day. The staff will be absolutely delighted with your feedback so a million thanks once again for your review

Before moving intp Field House, my mother had taken to her bed. She didn't want to be involved with day to day activities - including getting up: eating, socialising, even though carers came in 4 times a day it seemed as if she was giving up.
Now she is at FH they have encourged her to get up and out
of her room; she joins in with all activities going; socialising and has company.
This is thanks to all the staff, including carers and activities coordinators, who all do a wonderful job. Even anxillary staff - cleaners, maintenance, kitchen engage with my mother and add to her and my overall positive experience of the home.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field Housethat is brllliant and great to hear and is exactly what we strive to achieve at Field House - our goal is for our residents to live every aspect of their lives to the full and simply have the best time possible - thank you for your generous review

Sadly Dad passed away (aged 96) after only a few months at Field House which was such a shame as he had settled in really well.
The manager and the team were amazing and made Dads stay an enjoyable one.
I would highly recommend Field House they are all such lovely caring people.
A big thank you to

I cannot recommend Field House highly enough. Sadly, my grandfather only got to spend six weeks with them before he passed away at the age of 92. While he was in their care, they could not do enough for him. There was never any doubt in my mind that this was the right place for him. Beautiful location,
building and grounds, with a great programme of activities and run by staff who genuinely care. Thank you!

The staff at Field House are genuinely caring, it is home from home for residents, in a loving safe environment. Field House provide a variety of stimulating activties and residents can appreciate the gardens. Having very complex medical needs, medication was administered with thought and empathy. The
staff always went the extra mile to provide for his dietary needs and cater for his tastes. End of life care was given with dignity and love by every member of staff. My husband and I appreciated all the support given to us through this difficult time.

Despite the disadvantage of being a converted building as opposed to purpose-built, it does its best to overcome the difficulties involved. My room was of a comfortable size, unfortunately without any en-suite, it was clean and bright and everything worked. The outside is beautiful with peaceful gardens
and access for my mobility scooter. The main amenities are geared toward the mentally ill, and people who need constant care as far as I could see, the residents were treated very well with enough staff to deal with this. My personal staff experience was very good with pleasant and caring staff always on hand. The food was excellent, freshly cooked by in-house chefs. Snacks and drinks away available. I could eat either in the dining room or brought to my room. My overall experience was of being welcomed by excellent staff who always made me feel comfortable.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Field HouseThank you very much for your kind review - we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Field House and I will pass your kind compliments onto the staff team. It may be worth noting that we do not provide care for people who are mentally ill, however, we have many years of experience in maximising the overall well-being of people who live with Alzheimer's/Dementia. Thanks again for your review - much appreciated.

My mom moved to Field House Care Home from a step-down bed from hospital, this choice was taken from our hands initially but it was the best home we could ever have wished for! The management fought hard to keep Mom when they wanted to move her on from social services.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.851)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.851) out of 10 for Field House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Field House is calculated as follows: ( (201 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Field House is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
