I was most impressed by Pinehurst and all whom I met there. Everyone I met, including the Registered Manager, was positive, enthusiastic and delightful. During the course of my wife's stay there , I was particularly struck by the positive response to difficult behaviour on my wife's part.
There was no word of criticism. The immediate reaction was "What can we do to help?" It was accepted that people with advanced Alzheimer's can't control their behaviour and our job is to help them cope. I came away with a feeling of great relief that we had indeed found the right place for my wife to spend her future.

When visiting I am always welcomed and staff are available to give me an update on my Mum. Food has always looked appetising and plenty of it. Mum is always appropriately dressed and cared for. When times have become challenging with Mum's behaviour staff are always around to offer support.
Very
happy with choice of home.

From the moment my nan moved to Pinehurst, the difference was clear. She had never truly settled anywhere after leaving her own home until she came here, and now it genuinely feels like a home from home. The atmosphere is warm, calm and welcoming, and residents are clearly known and cared for as
individuals.
One of the most reassuring aspects is the consistency of the staff. You get to know them, and they get to know both residents and families. The familiar, friendly faces make a huge difference, it's rare to find a home with such continuity. The day staff care deeply for my nan and have built lovely, meaningful relationships with her.
The management team have gone above and beyond to accommodate my nan's needs, even moving her room to ensure she has the best possible care/situation. Communication is excellent and always reassuring. The activities and stimulation are brilliant, and the home is extremely well managed. We are so grateful for the care and compassion shown at Pinehurst.

My Mum went in to Pinehurst for respite over the Christmas period.
We can't thank the staff enough for making her feel so welcome. Cliff, the manager, bringing flowers on the day she arrived was lovely.
She enjoyed many of the events they laid on and meeting the other residents.
Her room and
bathroom were kept really clean, as was the home.
We received excellent support from Sue and the rest of the staff during this time, reassuring us and listening to our concerns.
They also ensured they understood Mum and her preferences and needs.
If Mum ever needs to live in a care home we would definitely choose Pinehurst.

Our mother was a resident of Pinehurst Care Centre for nearly two years, until she passed away in August. She had lived with dementia for nearly nine years, struggling with part-time home care, then, following hospitalisation, a move to a care home which did not meet her needs.
The move to
Pinehurst was a breath of fresh air! It allowed Mum to be nearer family who could visit her frequently and to live a calmer life. The Pinehurst team, from managers to carers to maintenance, welcomed, supported, cared for and respected Mum. They were professional, patient and kind. They all new her name, they all knew her family members. They were attentive to her personal hygiene, social interaction and stimulation at her own pace, her diet and medical needs.
Emilia, Vicki and Cliff were hugely supportive and understanding during Mum's final weeks, her hospitalisation and her return to familiar "homely" surroundings at Pinehurst on palliative care.
We are very grateful.

Good care of all staff to both their client and friends/family. Clean, calm atmosphere. Variety of activities available. Patient, knowledgeable, positive staff enabled good visits right until the end. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Overall a varied experience however lack of communication since the care coordinator left from the team - we now get none at all about our mother/grandmother where as she was brilliant with communicating with us. This is disappointing given costs relating to care. Had no idea they stopped getting
her up, the room is depressing, miserable, very little natural light.
When in the main house it was a lot better, constant entertainment that involved her and when moving over to the dementia unit it was like "that's that now".
The home needs a key worker to communicate with families as no-one does it at all now! The activity coordinator in the main home was always very good as was the care coordinator who used to be in the dementia building - sick a great loss losing her.
Devastating to see the leaving of the old manager as we really trusted her and there has been no introduction to the new manager as the meeting times are not suitable when I work full time. Carers and hairdresser are lovely though!

I approached my stay here with some trepidation but found the staff to be very reassuring, helpful and kind. The food was good, the bedroom warm and comfortable. Overall, very satisfactory.

Mom has been really happy since coming to Pinehurst - dementia is a debilitating illness and has made my mom anxious, worried, unhappy, and confused. At Pinehurst, they have given my mom reasons to be happy. All the carers are kind, thoughtful, loving, and personal and put Mom first and treat her
like a person not someone with dementia! She smiles and laughs. They also do all the other important, essential stuff (food, cleanliness, night-time) but mom is cared for when we, as a family, are struggling to care for her in her home environment - the carers show mom the love that we continue to do as a family but unable with the day to daycare.

To need to go into care can be a daunting process. At Pinehurst Care Home they go over and above to ensure that all questions and concerns are responded to. They are incredibly sensitive to an individual's needs and do all they can to assist in a smooth transition. I am very impressed with the
efficient and professional way Pinehurst Care Home is run. The leadership team are always available should a need arise, and they certainly have their fingers on the pulse of the home. Going the extra mile seems to be in the DNA of all the staff at Pinehurst Care Home, I am always cordially greeted and made to feel part of the bigger family in this home. A tailormade experience is what this home offers!

I have lived here for two months now. After being unwell and selling my property I was walking around and found this nice place with all the lovely and caring people. I couldn't have asked for better. I love you all. I will spend the rest of my life here.

Before Pinehurst, my relative was in a controlling coercive relationship, he has since come back to being the man we knew. I think this is due to the care and attention that my relative thrives and needs. He now has a choice on everything he requires. Activities are of his choice with no pressure to
be involved.
