View Full Details of Cherry Tree HouseMy mother has blossomed since being in CTH for the passed 7-8 months. The activities, particularly exercises, and creative ones like painting/drawing, and visits from the local nursery, have helped her together with the caring staff and excellent food. Thank you, all.
At a very stressful time of our lives, Cherry Tree House has been amazing and we can't thank them enough. Mum had been struggling to live independently at home and after a number of falls was hospitalised and in poor health. I contacted Cherry Tree House about respite - knowing that might be challenging as mum was adamant she didn't want to live in a care home. All I can say is that the change in mum has been nothing short of miraculous. She is healthier, both mentally and physically, is happy and enjoys the activities and the people. The staff have been professional, kind and very supportive to mum and to the rest of our family. Such a decision is hard for everyone - not just the person going into care. But, now it is a huge relief not to be constantly worrying about mum's safety. Cherry Tree House feels like a warm, comfortable and welcoming home and every one of the staff is lovely. We are eternally grateful to Cherry Tree House for everything they have done for mum and our family.
When my 104 year old mother became vulnerable in her own home, the time had come for some form of residential care. Reluctantly, mum agreed to take a couple of weeks respite at Cherry Tree House. Two people had independently recommended it and thank goodness they did! From the outset, not only mum but also myself and all my family were made so welcome by all the staff, from senior to housekeeping. By the time it came to us having to review her respite care, mum had no doubt that she wanted to make it her home as reluctant as she was when she first arrived. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff to help with mum's needs and requests. The food was superb and freshly cooked and prepared for every meal. At the most difficult time of her life, the offer of end of life care when mum became poorly was a great relief and she was looked after with the love and the dignity she deserved until she passed a week later. We are eternally grateful to Cherry Tree House.
Recent life changes for my parents have been huge, loss of independence and the balance of doing right for their care and safety, over sentiment of living at home, is a matter of difficult choices. The care home was the most vital part of that debate. My father needed respite in 2023. We had chosen Cherry Tree House for my mother after an extensive search. Settling in came with difficulties. Staff at Cherry Tree House were magnificent in making the process as good as possible. They could not have tried harder. Eventually, she accepted her stay. By the time she left, she was fully part of the Cherry Tree House family. Now the time came for both to make one of the most tough decisions of their long lives. Both are now at Cherry Tree House on a permanent basis. There were rules and regulations to follow that they hadn't been aware of since childhood. 2 months in and they are both very happy with the choices they made. That happiness comes form the massive input from Cherry Tree House. Don't ever think these decisions are easy. They are not. Cherry Tree House know how to do it best.
My mum went in for respite care and received excellent care and was so well looked after we extended her visit. The activities the food and the amazing staff made my mum feel very welcome. We will definitely hope to use the respite care again.
My nan has come to the time in her life where she is making the decision to review her day to day needs. Cherry Tree House offered a 2 week respite stay, to see if this would help nan make the decision of what she needed. The care she received was second to none and anything she asked for, she received. Nan enjoyed the daily activities and companionship. The staff couldn't have done enough for her and they were always on hand to answer any questions I had. Nan felt safe, secure and looked after. This has made my nan's decision a lot easier and is happy knowing that in the near future, she will take residence at Cherry Tree House. Honestly, I have never experienced such a warm and welcoming care home, that feels more like a home from home.
My dad spent 2 years at Cherry Tree House, from September 2022 until the day of his passing in August this year. As soon as you step through the door you appreciate the warm welcome given by all involved and realise this complements the excellent care given to all the residents. When dad arrived in 2022 he was still mobile, so entertainment and interaction were so important for him, to maintain his mobility. Playing dominoes and cards, even trips to the local pub, combined with the many themed days, where he had so much fun, were very welcome. Thanks to all the staff, we have met over the last 2 years, for caring for my dad in his twilight years.
What a wonderful place to live! Friendly, caring staff, lovely surroundings, carefully prepared nourishing meals, and a professional dedicated team who medically and emotionally supported my step father.
My mother recently spent 2 weeks of respite care in Cherry Tree House with a view to becoming a permanent resident if the stay was successful. I'm pleased to say she settled extremely well in the first 2 weeks and we've now made the move permanent, which is what we'd hoped would be the case. Although she has only been in the home for just over a month we're extremely pleased and impressed with the way in which all staff has made her feel 'at home' and in her own words she 'couldn't ask for more'. We're as a family reassured that she's in the care of staff who all put the residents first and have created a very warm and welcoming family home in which she is now settled and happy.
My mother was a resident for several years, and her care throughout her time at Cherry Tree House was nothing short of remarkable. Mother entered the home almost as a recluse and really not looking after herself. We chose Cherry Tree as it was small and the staff immediately felt friendly, and they assured my brother and me that they would care for her. They kept their word and Mother thrived. She became social and we had a wonderful time being her sons and not having to be her carer, which is not really our best skill. The home and staff have always been welcoming, and we cannot speak highly enough of them.
I have found the staff at Cherry Tree House welcoming, kind, efficient and very helpful. The home is clean light and bright and has a very friendly feel about it. The garden is lovely and is very well maintained. The many activities are interesting and an effort is made to include all the residents. It has a nice dining area, or residents can eat in their room, and the food is good. My mother is well cared for in all personal matters, including having a shower daily if she wants one. Overall, I feel Cherry Tree House provides my mother with good all-around care in a good location for our family.
Dad moved in after his former home closed. The staff made him feel very welcome right from the start and offered all sorts of help to get him settled (including hanging some of his own pictures on the walls before he moved in so it would feel familiar). He has settled in very quickly and gets on well with all the staff. Very happy with how he is being looked after.
My mother has been in Cherry Tree House for respite care and will have mixed emotions about returning home! Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly to both Mum and I throughout her stay and Mum has got on very well with all the staff who have all been so kind, caring and friendly. The home is very clean, nicely appointed and well-maintained and the managers are approachable and responsive. All staff clearly want to do the best for the residents and ensure they are happy, safe and comfortable. As a relative, I have always been made to feel very welcome and have felt 'at home' visiting Mum (particularly appreciating the offer of a drink and cake in the afternoons when I have visited)! Mum has enjoyed the wide variety of food and in particular the cakes and desserts, all cooked in-house. Overall it has been a very positive experience for us both and we are hugely grateful to the whole team for their support and care. Thank you!
We are very satisfied with the care provided for our mum at Cherry Tree House, since December 2023. The staff are very caring, friendly and approachable, the home is spotless and is very well run. We could not ask for any better care for Mum, who is no longer confident to live independently. We can rest assured that she is being well cared for and is safe.
I highly recommend Cherry Tree House Care Home. The staff are caring, attentive and always go the extra mile. Mum was a resident for eight years until she passed away in March and the care she received was exceptional. She was shown respect and dignity and we will always be grateful.
This is the first time I have had to use this system. If all care homes ran this way there won't be many complaints from the residents, if any.
Cherry Tree House Care Home is a very friendly, kind, caring and efficient care home. Being of a moderate size, Cherry Tree is ideally suited for providing this sort of care.
I like living here very much, the food suits me fine except for curry which I can't eat because I'm diabetic! Everyone is so kind and helpful, thank you. Don't see the manager very often.
My mother became unable to cope after a fall. My brother and I viewed Cherry Tree House Care Home in Wendover along with other respite care providers. The immediate welcome made us both feel at ease with the awful decisions that we both, together, would have to make. Mum was a resident for three short weeks before passing peacefully. The staff were amazing. The care and attention shown to Mum were, without question, wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and with a smile. Cherry Tree gave something back to Mum that she had been stripped of, her dignity and right to choose. Her sharp sense of humour returned. The staff remained in contact after her passing and their concern for our welfare was heartwarming. Cherry Tree is a small care home full of care and respect. They are, in one word, wonderful.
Excellent. Staff are most helpful and will help any time. No grumbles really and visitors are always impressed. Can be a little too eager at times.
