Latest Reviews for The Lindens Residential Care Home
12 January 2026
My mother was a resident here for 6 yrs. She had vascular dementia and in her latter year developed cancer.
For the duration of her stay here her care was second to none. She enjoyed excellent personal care, delicious and varied meals and lots of leisure activities. She particularly enjoyed the
weekly sing songs.
Unfortunately I live 3-4 hours away so my visits were often sporadic. The care home staff were never aware of my plans to visit Mum. No matter what time of day I visited I always found my Mum spotlessly clean. Mum was bedridden for the last 18 months of her life and likewise her bed was always freshly made and she was always very comfortable. Our family were always greeted by very welcoming, cheerful and professional staff who were always available to answer any of our queries about Mum.
The home itself was always well presented and homely, no unpleasant odours and call bells answered promptly.
I can't speak highly enough of the peace of mind The Lindens gave me, so thankful.

My mum was a resident at The Lindens for over 10 years, and sadly died last month. The care she received was wonderful. Before moving to The Lindens, she had been living alone at home and wasn't doing very well. We arranged for her to stay at The Lindens as respite, and after an adjustment period
she thrived at The Lindens and did not want to leave. It was amazing how much she improved in the two years in care, after which she had a slow, but steady, decline as her age took its toll - she died aged 94.
As Mum got older, she slowly became more frail, eventually needing a wheelchair. I was worried that The Lindens, which is not a "nursing" home, would eventually be unable to look after her, but I was delighted that the home did everything it could so that Mum could live out her days in what she regarded as her home.
Latterly, Mum had many things wrong with her and the home consulted us regularly on how to deal with these conditions. I felt we were fully involved in her care.

My Mum lived at The Lindens for the last 19 months of her life. Frail and tired at the age of 90, she made the decision that she would end her days there, cared for by the wonderful Red House Surgery and the amazing Lindens team who had become her dear friends. The loving care that she received in
her last days was not something that money can buy, given by people who do so much more than carry out a job. That care extended to myself and my family, never intrusive, always supportive and something I will always be grateful for.

My brother resided at The Lindens for nine years. I visited him regularly and found everyone so kind caring and helpful. The was lots of activities going on at all times of which my brother took part in. I found there was always a happy atmosphere when I visited and I was always made very welcome by
all the caring staff and always updated on my brothers needs. He was made to feel part of their family.

We have been very satisfied with the care my mum has received from the Lindens. She has been here permanently since December 2023 and previous to that had numerous respite stays. She has complex needs and they know her well and how to care for her. They are proactive in arranging things to make her
more comfortable, be it a waterbed or physio treatment. I live a long way away and can rest easy that she is well cared for. Her hair is always clean and brushed, nails cut and skin moisturised when I visit unannounced They treat her so kindly and she seems happy. I couldn't ask for more. Well done Lindens, especially 3 staff members in particular.

All of the staff show a deep concern in ensuring that all of the residents are treated fairly and any issue I have raised has been dealt with speedily and a satisfactory end result.

The Lindens is a very special place, my mother, now 99, has been lucky enough to have been a resident for almost 8 years. During that time, we have truly admired the level of commitment, care and professionalism. The whole staff have shown on a daily basis. The atmosphere is purposeful, lively,
cheerful and above all, caring. Mum's increasing medical needs have always been monitored and dealt with compassionately. We cannot recommend this residential home highly enough.

Our mum has been living at The Lindens for just over a year. She has a complex medical history and the staff and management are extremely helpful and supportive of her. Their support has taken a lot of the worry away from us, knowing that they are checking on her. Their care was recently very
helpful in preventing mum returning to hospital, nursing her back to normal within their care.
The activities that the home runs to provide entertainment are great. I particularly enjoyed the carol singing and mum is always telling me about the cookies and sausage rolls they have helped make.
Our contact with the home has always been great. They have always acted on any issues with mum quickly and the relationship they have with the local medical teams means they can action interventions much quicker than we, as family, had been able to when we were caring for mum ourselves.

Dad has been a resident at The Lindens for 12 months and we could not have chosen better.
Staff - the owners, managers, receptionists, carers, chefs, cleaners, gardeners, maintenance team, and everyone else - they all show immense passion and pride in their work, and have been very helpful and a
pleasure to deal with.
Accommodation - the main house, restaurant, lounge, coffee room, bedrooms, grounds, and flower beds are of high quality and are kept in extremely good order.
Restaurant - only wish I could dine there every day!
Carers - we all understand this is a very demanding role and we have been very impressed with the high level of care, empathy, and understanding that all the carers have shown both to my Dad and other residents that we have seen on many visits.
Activities - the team has endless amounts of energy in finding positive activities for the residents to undertake both at The Lindens and externally on day trips.
Well done to the manager and her team; keep up the great work.

Our 88-year-old Dad moved into the Lindens in November 2024 after living at home with a 24/7 carer following a serious illness. The Lindens has been nothing short of a revelation for him! Run by the ever-approachable the manager and her amazing team, they are caring and friendly to a level that
genuinely makes Dad feel like he's at home. Prior to the Lindens, Dad had stopped reading and watching TV - indeed, he had almost stopped engaging with people. Now he has made friends and joins in the daily activities that the team arrange, including trips out. The Lindens are also exceptional at managing Dad's ongoing health needs, with weekly GP visits addressing any issues before we even know of them. The speed and consistency of response from the Lindens team makes them very easy to deal with. Add all of that to the lovely building and grounds and you can see why one of Dad's visitors is hoping to make her own arrangements to enter the Lindens. You can't give a better recommendation than that!

My dad has been a resident for almost 10 years, and the care he receives is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you walk in, the warm and friendly atmosphere is palpable. The staff are not only incredibly friendly but also genuinely happy, creating a welcoming environment that feels like
home.
The home is clean, with everything maintained to the highest standards. It always smells fresh and inviting, contributing to the overall comfort of the residents.
Each meal is cooked fresh daily, ensuring that residents enjoy delicious and nutritious options.
There's also a fantastic range of activities available. Whether it's arts and crafts, games, or social events, there's always something happening.
The management is approachable with an open-door policy, making it easy to reach out with any concerns or suggestions.
Overall, I cannot recommend this care home highly enough! If you're looking for a caring and supportive environment, this is definitely the place to be!

I have found all the staff at The Lindens strive to make the residents at ease and they show dignity and respect to all. Always helpful and compassionate. It can be personally very difficult to see loved one(s) in care homes, the staff put my mind at ease. I feel fortunate my loved one(s) are/is
there. I wish all care homes were as good.
28 May 2024
Very pleased with Mum's care and her general state of health.
01 May 2024
Absolutely wonderful place, every staff member is so attentive and determined to make every hour of every day a good one for all the residents!
Our mother is happy and smiling most of the time, if she's unhappy, distressed or unwell it is picked up on very quickly, the situation is sorted out
immediately and the appropriate care is given! Therefore over her time at The Lindens, (4.5 years) there has been a marked improvement in Mummy's overall health and well-being.
From management and administration staff, to nurses, carers, activities team, kitchen and housekeeping staff every single person is helpful, friendly and always finding time for a chat, simply amazing!
Thank you all so very much.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone and everyone!

My father moved into The Lindens when it became obvious my mother was unable to cope at home. I cannot fault the staff for their kindness and care towards my father in the later stages of his life. Communication was outstanding, my mother was always in the know as to how my father was medically. As
a family we cannot fault The Lindens. My father received 1st class care at all times.
20 November 2023
After viewing several care homes in the area I immediately walked into The Lindens and thought this was the one. Lovely building overlooking fields and the canal. The open airy entrance hall and impressive dining room give off an air of comfort yet homeliness. My husband's room and en suite are
spacious, comfortable and sunny. The care he receives is kind, caring and cheerful.
The management and staff are empathetic and meet my husband's many needs with dignity and professionalism. They are also supportive of me. My husband's many medical problems are dealt with immediately and efficiently. I feel lucky that we found The Lindens.
20 September 2023
My mother first came to the Lindens because of a combination of Parkinson’s and the onset of dementia. Later her poor sight turned to almost total blindness. Throughout all these travails, staff were always attentive, caring and good-spirited. They enjoyed her company and found her very funny,
nicknaming her ‘Lady Di’. I’m told, and believe, they came to love her.
The Lindens were always well-run and coped well throughout the Covid years. It avoided the horror one read about other care homes. If staff caught Covid, they were sent home with pay.
The care provided was superb throughout, being effective and friendly; indeed, when my mother was in the hospital with an infection and the hospital felt it needed to put her on end-of-life care, they agreed to take her back to look after her at the end of her life. In this period, they were especially attentive, careful and caring.
The Lindens looks like a clean, well-run country club and is welcoming. The restaurant always looked tempting!
