I could not falter the care our mum receives at Swarthmore. The staff are brilliant, so professional and kind. Mum has been there just over a year and it's remarkable how much happier she is.
The premises are lovely and comfortable and the gardens are gorgeous in every season.

My mother is a long term resident- 5 years. In all that time we've run out of nice things to say. We've said or written all of them. They care beautifully and patiently and professionally for the residents in a wonderful environment. But more than that they embrace an entire family. My father who
was not a resident and who recently died was such a frequent visitor that Swarthmore just adopted him anyway and he loved them for what they had given him - 5 years of life with a big worry lifted from him. The rest of us in the family value the time and care and the gentle, friendly and under-stated support they have provided to an entire family. We love them because ...... they're lovely and it would be hard not to.

A warm, welcoming calm and happy place, where residents are well cared for, loved and respected and valued. There are many activities planned to engage residents which cater for a wide range of interests. Everybody, staff and residents alike, always seem so happy and there is a warm glow about the
place. The staff know the many different personalities and engage appropriately with each individual. Truly, a place of love, warmth and kindness.

Although not a first degree relative, I have Power of Attorney and am the main contact for a resident, my step mother. The family circumstances are somewhat tricky but handled with great sensitivity by the home, especially the 'success manager' so I receive regular updates about her health and
wellbeing.
Unfortunately, she cannot be moved out of her own room so I cannot comment on activities and communal areas personally, but when I have been there the other residents seem actively engaged.
My step mum is very happy there, in fact she quizzed me about how I was managing her finances, saying that 'she rather liked it and would hate to have to leave; the food is wonderful with proper asparagus and salmon'
One aspect I notice is that all the staff seem happy, smiling and willing to help. This creates a sense of home rather than institution. If my turn ever comes, I hope I can find somewhere as lovely.

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the summer family and friends gathering. Although we visit frequently it was lovely to share such a relaxed afternoon with my mum and dad and good to see so many generations of family together. A huge thank you for arranging such a convivial day.

Spent a wonderful afternoon at Swarthmore for their annual summer gathering. My Mum has been a resident there since October 2024. Struggling to live on her own due to Dementia and living so far away from me I had to move her away from her home and friends so she was closer to me. She settled in very
quickly and we haven't looked back since. The home is very welcoming, clean and the staff are great. Always lots of activities going on for those that wish to take part.

The team at Swarthmore supported my father in law during respite care. During his time with this excellent team the improvements in his health and determination to get well were profound. I would thoroughly recommend the home to anyone for short or long term care.

My mother spent the last five years of her life in this home, she was 99 when she died. She was suffering from the dementia throughout her time there and could be quite feisty at times. However, Mum was well behaved and lot of the time too. She was treated well and sympathetically throughout her
time at the home and with plenty of patience. Staff coped with her well when she was difficult and uncooperative which happened more often in the last couple of years.

My Dad has been at Swarthmore Residential Care Home since March 2024, His care has been tremendous.
Firstly he had a complete review of medication and health check which resulted in ensuring some unseen issues were controlled. Regular access to the doctor on a weekly basis is great.
But it is the
care from the team and all the staff at Swarthmore that has made the real difference for my Dad. Care and attention, numerous activities and trips have all helped his dementia and purpose in life and he has grown and changed. He is happy, safe and very content.
Wonderful care by a wonderful team. Thank you

My dad has been at Swarthmore Residential Care Home since March this year and I can honestly say it's been transformative for him! The kindness and loving care that he receives from all of the staff, along with great food and a fun filled activity roster, particularly the table tennis and dancing,
have brought back the smile on his face. I can only thank you all at Swarthmore Residential Care Home for this.

My mum was in Swarthmore for nearly 2 years. It was very homely and the staff was very genuine - they really cared about the residents.
The food was excellent and the activities extremely good with regular visits out for those with some mobility. We knew she was in good hands which gave us peace of
mind at all times.
Not easy to move a loved one to a home but would highly recommend Swarthmore.

My Mum was resident for exactly 3 years. She was well cared for by kind staff. She enjoyed the artistic activities and some of the trips out. The visit of the alpacas was a highlight. The staff were very good at noticing subtle changes and would keep relatives informed. Medical issues were dealt
with promptly. I have no hesitation in recommending Swarthmore as a safe and caring environment.

Mum moved into Swarthmore, a care home in the heart of Gerrards Cross a few hundred metres from her house. Swarthmore is an extraordinary place, or rather the people who work there are extraordinary. They are a United Nations of Kindness. They looked after Mum with huge respect and dignity. She
thrived there and I suspect without their love, she wouldn't have held on for quite so long. We are eternally grateful to them.

My mother lived in Swarthmore Residential Care Home for eight years. The staff adapted their care for her as her needs changed and became like family for her and for me. I found the team easy to approach with questions and always felt welcome in the home and well-supported. My mother received
excellent care, both physically and for her personal welfare. We are very thankful for them.

Husband died in the home in January after seven months there. He declined but was very well looked after right to the end.
Staff kept in touch with me and liaised with our son who is a GP.
Staff had been helpful and kind to him throughout all his time there calling the doctor when needed etc.

Swarthmore Residential Care Home provided care, including end-of-life care, to my father. The staff were always kind and professional and treated him with the respect that one would hope. The staff appeared to do all they could to make him happy and comfortable. The food was decent and they made an
effort to put on activities to provide stimulation for those who wanted it. They were good at communicating and visiting was never an issue. It is slightly more personal than some homes and the fact that some of the staff remembered looking after his mother, some twenty-five years ago, shows that they enjoy working there which is always a good sign!
