View Full Details of Burlington HallThe wonderful care, friendleness, time, and tenderness the staff give to my husbands restbite care stay.
Major reason we chose the home was its location in our village. But it also convinced us with a warm welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff. And the staff was very flexible, e.g. regarding food - very good chef, who cooks all fresh or when he wanted his was - no urge or rush - they asked again later. Very kind and friendly people, nice garden, good side rooms for visiting and privacy. It definitely was the right choice although it was expensive (which is the same everywhere and sad).
My father was asked to leave his previous excellent rated care home due to his "challenging behaviour". In a way it was a relief because we dreaded being told about how difficult he had been each time we visited. We were fortunate to find Burlington Hall - we knew it was the right place when we met the manager who is clearly totally invested in the lives of the residents. For the home manager "challenging behaviour" is a normal feature of residents with dementia (especially men in later stages) & she has a highly experienced team who are specially trained to deal with this. Burlington Hall has a much higher proportion of male residents than my fathers previous care home which in itself is probably a good indicator of their ability to cope with more challenging behaviour. My father was treated with great respect and dignity by a highly experienced, well trained team who always showed him great care & love. I can whole heartedly recommend this home & it's amazing team.
I visited my mother, who was having a 2 week trial stay, but she liked it so much, she wanted to stay permenantly! The staff are very caring and everything about the home is very nice, clean and safe.
The manager and her staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much for them, the care they gave to my mother, even at the end of her life, was supportive, understanding, very caring with dignity to her and the family.
My husband had 2 weeks of respite care and was very happy. He was well cared for by friendly and capable staff who soon knew him by name. His room, with ensuite facilities, was a good size, and he enjoyed all the meals. Visitors anytime. However too much time had to be sitting in a lounge with no conversation - some activities are needed e.g. armchair exercise, quizzes, balloon tennis, gentle walks, colouring, table tennis, pilates.
Burlington Hall was the chosen care home to look after my good friend, as it was local to him, was no more expensive than other, similar local care homes and seemed to offer an outstanding level of care and attention. The home is always very clean, with a team constantly ensuring that it is safely maintained and all of the staff are friendly, polite and show genuine care for the residents. I like the fact that the food is all cooked in its own kitchen, with the chef bringing it up to the dining room and integrating with the residents as well and there is always the offer of a meal as well if you are visiting during mealtime and want to stay. In short, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, even arranging special days for the residents, recently celebrating Burns Night, the Chinese New Year and Valentines day. I honestly can't think of a bad thing to say about the Burlington Care Home, so please keep up the superb work that you do and thank you for looking after my friend so well.
My husband has been a resident in Burlington Hall since January 2025. He has sever dementia; three other care homes, following assessment, declined to admit my husband due to his irratic behaviour. The care my husband receives at Burlington is of a very high standard. He has settled well and his behavioural problems have reduced due to the calm, quiet support the carers give my husband. I feel we have been very fortunate that my husband is now residing in such a friendly, caring environment. I am also made to feel very welcome.
Fantastic celebrations always, every event well thought out and totally inclusive for residents family & visitors. Total respect from every single member of staff for all residents and family. Dad is always clean, well fed and looked after, it gives me a peace of mind knowing that. A big thank you, especially to the manager who sets a shining example to all staff.
I visit one of the residents along with my father a couple of times a week When I visit I'm always greeted with a smile from the lovely staff. Always clean. 5 star x
The staff are so friendly and helpful and make our friend (resident). Deel at home and although its difficult for her to settle the staff could not do more to help her.
My 90 year old Dad has been living in this care home since July 2024. He came in following hospital care for some respite and his health has gone from strength to strength thanks to the caring staff and manager. We are supported and involved in Dad's care and always informed of any issues that arise. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a professional and caring service for their loved one.
Despite only a brief stay at the home our mother was treated with dignity and respect. Any ratings less than 5 below are indicative only of the fact that refurbishments were being undertaken during her stay. Otherwise, very happy with the treatment received.
My husband has been at Burlington Hall since September 2019. I was so pleased with the care and love he was shown back then. He was treated with respect right from the start. The family was always welcomed and made to feel at home. However, the dynamic manager has not rested on her laurels. She strives for excellent care on behalf of the residents and their families. Over the years, the standard of care has continued to improve as my husband has deteriorated. Staff are vigilant in monitoring his health and well-being. They keep me updated with developments and I am always made to feel welcome when I visit him. There is a strong team of permanent and professional carers which also enhances the care of the residents, as they get to know the residents well and can therefore spot if there is something awry before it becomes a problem.
Mum spent only seventy days in Burlington Hall but each and every one of those days was filled with care and compassion for her and for her situation. Initially, it was thought she would be spending just a couple of weeks in respite care after discharge from hospital. I asked an old friend if they could recommend somewhere and without hesitation they recommended Burlington Hall. Burlington Hall's wonderful and impressive manager spoke to us and visited Mum in hospital and from there on in we felt that Mum was the complete focus of their care and attention. It was as if Mum was their only resident but I now know that they give the same level of outstanding care to all their residents and families. I am not entirely sure how they achieve this... I suspect the "recipe" is a combination of impressive organisation, sheer hard work... and literally breathtaking amounts of kindness and compassion. I will never forget all that they did for my mother during her last few months of life.
My 95-year-old mother-in-law became a resident at Burlington Hall for what was expected to be respite care following a fall. She had severe oedema and an aggressive and debilitating cancer. Burlington Hall turned out to be her final home. The love and care that she was given was of the highest conceivable standard at every level. Nothing was too much trouble and the care extended to my wife and our dog. In the last days of my mother-in-law's life, she and we were tended and looked after in a way which was personal as well as reassuringly professional. We will be forever grateful.
The environment and the home is a fantastic place for loved ones to grow old. The staff are extremely caring and loving and I always felt they treated and respected my Mum as if she were their Mum. Lovely place.
Our relative had been in the care home for just under four years. Her admission was due to advanced dementia requiring one-to-one care. Despite all the difficulties of dealing with her the staff always demonstrated care and kindness. They were always very patient despite regular difficulties and provocation from her. She was always well turned out, well fed and we believe well looked after.
My husband has just spent two weeks in respite care at Burlington Hall and I cannot express how impressed I have been with the quality of care we have received. He came home happy, content and rested and I would definitely use this care home again in the future. Thank you to anyone who supported us.
Fantastic service. The staff are so caring and go above and beyond to make sure the stay went well. Did not have to worry if anything needed sorting with health and care, as this was always carefully monitored 24/7. Cannot thank them enough for the care provided, it put our minds are rest that Dad was getting the proper care needed. Dad was happy during his stay.
