The overall experience & atmosphere in the care home has improved dramatically since the current manager was installed.
The areas of treated with dignity & safety/security have in the past been very poor, but again this has improved & given a further period this review could improve further.
Time
taken to answer residents bell still needs improvement
Greatest asset here are management & staff who without their conduct/performance would impact my opinion.

Outstanding care for my mum, lunch a joy for her she gets to choose from two meals daily! And she is called 'Mum' so lovely!

My mum loves being at Brewster House. Following several falls at her home last year, a month's stay in Hospital along with a dementia diagnosis, it was agreed she would go to Brewster House for some respite care. She is now a permanent resident and although It took her a couple of weeks to settle
in - as she is very independent - having now spent two months there she wouldn't be anywhere else!
The home and staff are excellent. The home is well laid out, spacious, clean and comfortable. All staff are friendly, kind and professional.
I really look forward to my visits to the home to see my mum as there is always so much going on and it's great to get to meet and know the other residents and their families along with her new friends. We are very pleased indeed with her care.

Thank you to everyone at Brewster House for the wonderful care given to my mum, the staff are so kind, compassionate & treated her with dignity, which gave our family great peace of mind. We were truly thankful for all you did & hope to use you again if the need arises.

My mum was admitted for an interim stay. She has dementia and seizures. The rooms are well laid out. The staff are excellent, caring and my mum was well looked after. Food choices very good. An excellent facility.

I was afraid that my independent friend, having lived alone for most of his adult life, would be unhappy in a care home; but very quickly, he settled down, saying 'The staff here are so lovely. They really look after me and are so kind.' He once said 'I am going to buy an electric scooter. I'd like
to see where I used to live once more, and stroke my cat, and then come back here.' What a recommendation! I am impressed by his neat little room, the alarm, the en-suite and the lightness. I am, as a visitor, always greeted and treated by all the staff and given time and patient consideration by the manager.

Since moving to Brewster House mum has been cared for well. My first impressions were of a clean comfortable home, where the staff appear happy, helpful and caring, six weeks later my first impressions have been reinforced. I can't comment on value for money as to date social services have been
paying.

My parent came to Brewster House at the end of last year from the hospital, so we had no idea what to expect. We have been pleasantly surprised on all fronts from the level of care and attention, the kindness and caring from all staff, cleanliness (including no smells!), the standard of the food and
the constant stream of activities the Home organises. My parent has even been taken out to the cinema! The staff are very proactive and attentive. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Brewster House has created a caring, diligent and calm home environment for those staying there, sprinkled with a bit of fun, crazy and entertaining activities for those who want it. Everyone has a smile for you and there's not really anything else we could ask for.

Mum stayed for a week but has decided not to stay. This is in no way a reflection on Brewster House and the acre given by its staff but Mum hasn't had the social interaction that is important to her. Some of your residents with dementia have come into her room uninvited and have tried to take her
food and drink when she was in communal areas. They are so noisy that she hides herself in her room.

Everyone is so caring to my wife and the staff always keep me informed on how she is getting on. The food is very good and she enjoys it very much. Any problems, the staff let me know as soon as they can.
I come in and do some entertainment for the residents and they always make me very welcome.

Dad has been at Brewster House since November 22, and the care he’s received has been marvellous. The staff are extremely helpful, and the management is great - keep up the good work and thank you. He has one-to-one care day and night and feels very safe and secure. Once again, thank you.

Brewster House has changed for the better over the last 16 months. Staff are very friendly, and always willing to talk. My mum is bed bound and is very well cared for, not once in the last 3 years has she ever had a bed sore. Well done.

The permanent staff are friendly, caring, efficient and welcoming. They treat residents with dignity and respect at all times. Unfortunately, this cannot always be said about the bank/supply staff. I feel that the residents are in a safe and secure environment, and I feel confident that their best
interests are always at the centre of what Brewster House do. The staff at Brewster House are extremely good at communicating with us regarding my mother-in-law's health needs.

A happy and welcoming environment. Staff are very caring and show care and consideration to all the residents. Staff are very good at communicating with us about the health and well-being of my mother. I feel my mother is in a safe and comfortable environment.

Mum has been here for nearly eighteen months and as long as the team are here, she will remain also. We could not ask for better service from all of the staff, we love how they care and interact with her. Mum has settled in amazingly and this is a testament to everyone at Brewster House. Thank you.

From first entering the security door, the staff were very welcoming and polite. Always on hand with any help I needed to take my wife back to her room safely.

Everyone is so caring to my wife and the staff always keep me informed on how she is getting on. The food is very good and she enjoys it very much. Any problems, the staff let me know as soon as they can.
