View Full Details of New Copford Place Residential Care HomeDaniel, the care manager, and his team were extremely helpful and supportive during the difficult process of getting my father into respite care. The home itself feels friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and it is good to see so many regular faces!
This care home could not have welcomed mum more warmly. She has been a resident now for 2 years and during this time her care has always been at the forefront. The home itself is always lovely to visit at any time of the day. Staff are friendly and approachable. Always lots of activities to join in with or watch from the sides.
Everyone is really helpful and caring. Mum is taking time to settle and the support she needs has been great. We love all the activities that are available to mum. The fact the home is small is also a great benefit to us as everyone knows everyone and takes the time with people.
The Staff are warm, caring, hardworking, kind, skilled and conscientious. They really know each Resident well. They all work well together as a Team from the Administrator to the Housekeeping and Maintenance, Activities Lead and Caring Staff. The grounds are lovely, well kept and used enthusiastically. There are clear lines of accountability with the Shift Leaders being an accessible and efficient point of contact for Staff, Residents and Relatives alike as well as the Home Manager. There is a stable core of regular Staff and Agency Staff use mostly seems to be small. I have chosen this Care Home for both of my elderly relatives to live in and I feel happy with my choice.
Nice home with a good atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and helpful to deal with any queries. The management team are also good and friendly, their support with health issues and medication has been excellent.
Looking for a care home at short notice wasn't easy, especially when not having any previous experience. We feel so fortunate to have found New Copford Place. It's like a big, happy family with several, long-standing employees. All aspects of the staff - carers, cleaners, laundry, kitchen, office and maintenance are consistenly cheeful and friendly and the home is always clean and fresh. Our mum is really well cared for and loved by everyone and it's clear to us that the staff love what they do. The rooms may not be the biggest and the facilities may not be the best, but to us this is a secondary factor. Our only other observations are that it seems to take a while for work on the home to get done once decisions are made, but that's probably because we don't understand the processes involved. Also, that although the gardens are lovely, it would be nice if they were more accessible. Overall New Copford Place is just a very pleasant place for our mum to be and for us to visit.
New Copford Place is very tidy, clean and welcoming. The staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. I felt well looked after when I stayed there.
The staff are truly amazing, I no longer have to worry about my mothers welfare as I know she is in safe and caring hands. NCP always has a warm and friendly atmosphere when I visit, and the activities team do a splendid job of keeping things interesting during the day. Well done.
I am very happy with all aspects of my mothers care and facilities in Copford Place, I do know that she has always been very happy staying within this home for the period of at least the last seven years, and therefore I feel a lot of gratitude because I know that she is very well cared for.
I met some nice people there. I helped to make a Christmas cake. It was nice to share meals with other people. Slept very well. My relatives were able to come and visit me. It was lovely and warm in the home. Saw squirrels out of the window. I had my nails and hair done and that was a nice experience. I would like to stay again when my daughter goes on holiday.
My mother recently spent three weeks respite in New Copford Place. My brother and I were very impressed by the warm welcome we received from the moment we made contact by phone. The home has a calm atmosphere with light, spacious areas for relaxing and taking part in activities. The dining room is delightful with fresh flowers on each table. The staff were all professional, friendly and helpful. Although my mother decided not to stay (she wasn't ready) we would not hesitate in choosing New Copford Place for her to stay permanently.
What a find! We needed some respite care for our Mum and found the care welcome, cheerfulness and cleanliness incredible. Always a smile and a can-do attitude. Mum was sorry to leave as she had become very fond of everyone- staff and residents. Mum's TV never worked well but that is our only negative. Thank you New Copford Place for being there when we and Mum needed you. Our thanks to everyone, especially the budgie!
You invited us to look around, we had a wonderful lunch and Dad really felt at home, everywhere was clean and fresh and the staff was very friendly. The decision to book was easy! From day 1 Dad enjoyed that everyone called him by his first name. During his stay, we spoke with him frequently and family members visited - he said he was being well looked after, had good food, friendly helpful staff, with a real 'homely' feel. Everyone commented on how clean and fresh the home was. His own room was great with a nice bathroom and comfortable bed. There were no issues with taking him out temporarily during the day for family visits and he certainly enjoyed his 'wee dram' in the evenings. He really enjoyed being able to sit in the courtyard on sunny days. He said it was nice to be able to walk in the gardens and nice having a mix of TV and quiet rooms. Should the need arise in the future, there will be no need to look around. New Copford Place will be our immediate, preferred first choice. Thank you and well done all.
My dad has Alzheimer's and had two weeks of respite care while I went away. He was well cared for and seemed much better for having company all the time. I was pleased with his respite care there so moved Dad in there permanently. He has been there for two months and I'm so glad. Again he is well cared for by lovely staff. He has joined in with activities and has been out and about on trips. He does have days where due to his dementia he doesn't understand why he is there but staff give lots of reassurance to him and I can clearly see how much they care for him and all their residents. All staff are lovely; they keep me well informed and as a family, we are always welcomed in with a smile and friendly chat. On a personal level, I have found the support from everybody to be fantastic; it can be hard to see someone with Alzheimer's and upsetting at times, but everybody has been so kind and supported me as well. I personally cannot recommend this care home enough.
Satisfied with the care provided. The staff are attentive and treat residents with respect and dignity. The rooms are a little small, but the overall look and feel of the home generally is comfortable and welcoming.
I was completely satisfied with my experience getting respite care for my mum in New Copford Place. The home is clean and well-maintained with an excellent layout round a courtyard with small lounges and lots of light which makes it a delightful building to visit. All the staff, including the manager, cannot be faulted for the kindness and care they show towards the residents, and the whole atmosphere in the place is friendly and welcoming. They were so good with my mum and I would definitely recommend this home.
The staff are very friendly and know the residents well. Activities are improving due to the recent appointment of a coordinator. Overall, it is a lovely care home.
Staff at New Copford Place have always been supportive of our family and friends. They appear to act quickly to resolve any issues and are happy to work with families for the best outcome for the residents. The new activities coordinator has, in my opinion, improved social activities. Unfortunately, the chef had left, so the food served wasn't as good, but a new chef is now in post, and this has improved again. The rooms are relatively small, but they are comfortable and can be personalised with the resident's own furniture, etc. Overall, we feel residents are treated with care and as individuals. We would recommend New Copford Place for short-stay or long-term residency.
Having no experience of care homes, I am really pleased that we chose New Copford Place to look after my aunt. The staff are friendly, caring and approachable. Any concerns I may have are discussed and resolved quickly with a smile. My aunt, who is new to the care home, seems settled and happy already. She is well looked after and enjoys the meals. Her room is kept tidy and clean. The new activity manager is putting together an extensive activity plan and we receive weekly planners so that we can come along and join in too.
My dad appears very happy here. He is well cared for and looked after and the place is always clean. There were some minor maintenance problems with the boiler, however, I feel I can trust the staff always to ensure his safety and well-being. The staff are always kind and friendly when I visit.
