View Full Details of Elizabeth HouseOverall, very happy with the care my mum receives. The 24/7 care is a comfort to us when we cannot be with our mum. The carers are very understanding, loving and caring. We visit every day, and the relationship we have with mum's carers is nice. Mum is looked after very well, especially by her regular carers who have got to know mum and her ways and needs.
My wife has been at Elizabeth House for 2 years. The home is always clean. The staff are very helpful and overall I am pleased with the care given.
My husband has been a resident at Elizabeth House for a little over a year. In that time, the staff and management have kept him safe and been kind and caring.
My mum became a resident in August and sadly passed away in October. For the relatively short time she was there i visited 3 times a week and always found the home to be spotless and all the staff to be very caring. I would especially like to thank Dawn who understood my mum from the moment she met her and was my absolute rock when I needed her. Mum had some good converations with the staff and although she was pretty much confined to her room, which was her choice, she knew lots of the names of the very kind men and women that cared for her every need. Although mum never made use of the facilities, other than 1 trip to the hairdresser, I am aware there were many activities available had she been able to or chosen to join in. I would not hesitate in recommending Elizabeth House to anybody looking for a care home for a relative. It's a big thank you from me to all the staff.
The biggest of ongoing problem, is the lack of staff. When you call for assistance there is often an unacceptable wait. This is very poor, especially when waiting for toilet issues. Also the food is terrible, it arrives lukewarm and often barely edible. The quality of presentation are both dreadful. There as been occasion when my mother has not received any food at all or, has received lunch but no dessert. Last week her dessert that was available, was custard with cream. Just yesterday, there was no butter to add to a sandwich. For the fee charged, this does not represent good value at all.
The home after a dodgy start for my mum is more settled now. The staff seem amazing and passionate about what they do but one thing I would say is the awful smell as you walk through the corridors to get to your relative.. I know it's a home but surely something can be done I personally know what could be done and happy to discuss it. It's so unbearable and that bad I put a few diffusers in my mother's room. Windows could be open to let the wire blow through more of diffusers in the corridors. I would be happy for runwood to contact me to suggest.. my mum's room floor always looks like it needs a good hoover and mop.. maybe more frequent cleaning could be done and spray through the corridors.. Lemongrass is a great smell diffuser and citrus smells.. as I said I do have suggestions. It awful and such a nice home too.
I feel my mum is safe and well cared for at Elizabeth House. The staff are caring and helpful and approachable.
When we have visited my dad looks well cared for, all staff know his needs and care very much for him. His room is always very clean. My dad seems happy in the home, although it breaks my heart this is how his life has become. The home is very lovely and caring.
My assessment is based on my 2 visits per week. I have always found the staff very approachable and helpful. Although my mother does not take advantage, the activities and facilities at the home are excellent. My mother's views are not totally reliable but she does complain quite regularly about the night staff and a perceived lack of care. For myself, my only criticism is with my mum's room. The layout of the room means that she is unable to get to the window to pull the curtains and her carpet badly needs replacing or hard flooring installed.
Would like to say Im am so happy that my husband is here, I never worry that he isn't looked after because he is, the staff are so good and caring that I dont have to worry about him, he has his good days and bad days the care is top rate. Thank you to all the staff that work here.
This is a lovely safe and caring home. It is wonderful to see all the residents and staff together and having that social interaction when I go into see my brother he always has a smile on his face. And he tells me what he has been up to. He said to me that is so many things going on here and my brother loves to go out on the trips here, all the staff are really kind and they treat the residents life family.
My Mum has been a resident at Elizabeth House since last July. I have found all the staff extremely caring. The care team leaders always keep me in touch, either personally when I visit or via a telephone call with any issues that may have occured. There's always things going on to keep the residents occupied. Either trips out or activities arranged in house. Overall I have found it to be a great care home and would thoroughly recommend.
Mum came to Elizabeth House last September for respite care after a fall. She was vulnerable and fragile and very anxious after her stay in hospital. Elizabeth House staff were fabulous. Reassuring both Mum and us that she would be well cared for. We can't thank you all enough. She now lives here very happily.
Been visiting here for about eighteen months and have never seen or heard anything to complain about. The rooms are kept very clean and tidy, with clothes always washed, ironed and hung up immaculately. The staff are very friendly and helpful, in fact my friend who I visit sees the staff also as friends. I personally would say the home is more like a hotel, which says it all really.
Mum arrived in December 2023, distressed and scared. The carers made sure she was listened to and felt safe. The building is bright and airy, and the bedrooms are clean. Mum has Alzheimer's and is gradually declining. She is dressed, washed and fed well and feels confident in the carer's ability to understand her needs. The team always make sure birthdays and big events are celebrated by decorating the building beautifully. Overall, I am happy with the care mum is receiving at Elizabeth House
Happiness, contentment, and safety are just some of the requisites of good care which Elizabeth House nurtures in abundance. A fabulous place which has surpassed my expectations. It had a lovely staff, great facilities, and was so clean.
One member off staff excels whilst the others are a bit hit and miss more worried about what they are doing at weekend or after shift just want the pay check and don't really care about residents it took us as a family to tell staff mum had a uti made up excuses about getting urine sample and chasing up review off meds always have to rely on members off staff that excels to get anything done some members off staff are to young to understand elderly residents needs and concerns and I think the price increase is an absolute insult people don't earn that a week or a month.
All staff are extremely courteous and polite and keep me informed of my mother's wellbeing and how she has been on days I have not visited. My mother appears very content and I can not fault any member of staff for the care and attention she receives, which is first rate.
My mum was a resident here for 2 years sadly she passed recently. During her time here she was very well looked after and the staff were amazing, particularly caring, and comforting at the time of her passing. Thank you all.
My auntie has been in Elizabeth House since September, the staff have been wonderful. Auntie is very happy and well cared for they interact with her all the time, and make sure she mixes with the other residents. Her room is always clean and tidy.
