View Full Details of Oakdale Care HomeI really recommend Oakdale Care Home. Staff and management are all approachable and caring to relatives as well as being very kind and caring to the residents. Staff have so much patience and genuinely care about the residents. Oakdale have given me peace of mind when leaving my mum there as I know she will be happy and well looked after. Thank you.
Oakdale was recommended to me for daycare by a work colleague whose mother is a resident. I cannot fault the staff how they are with the residents and how accommodating the management are in people attending. Oakdale have been a god send to me as I work full time and was unable to leave my mum along during the day. It was never too much trouble to ask at late notice. They always accommodated a space for mum. Not only are all the staff lovely and kind to the residents they all seem happy amongst themselves and in their job which creates a really good feeling in the home. I recommend Oakdale more than 100% and wholeheartedly thank them for being so amazing, kind and genuinely caring.
In my opinion Oakdale has got to be the best care home around, everyone is so caring for the residents it's unbelievable. I have never seen any wrong doing in all the time I've been visiting, everyone is so kind and if and when the time comes, I would love to go there. First class care home and first class people.
My Mum was sadly not at Oakdale for long as she passed away. However the staff at Oakdale were amazing looking after her to the very end. Their kindness and dedication cannot be equalled. We were always made to feel welcome and knew that as we went home Mum would be well looked after.
I recently went to a garden fete at Oakdale, and it was great. So well organised, residents and visitors were really looked after. There was a delicious BBQ, all the drinks you wanted. Entertainment, raffles, lucky dip etc., was all good fun. The staff worked so hard - nothing too much trouble, they were on hand to care for all residents - and visitors! Well organised, well done!
I stayed at Oakdale for 2 weeks for respite care after being very unwell since the beginning of the year. I was treated very well with help and kindness. Everyone works so hard to provide special care for all residents, whether short or long-term requirements. Thank you to everyone.
My mum always looks happy and well cared for, and the staff are friendly, caring and well trained. Mum settled in really quickly, enjoys all the varied activities on offer, and she never asks to go home. The staff also know my dad and family well from our visits, and they include us in decision-making and always make us feel part of the Oakdale family.
Me and my family are very pleased with mum's care, staff are very helpful and friendly. Mum is very happy at Oakdale, mum loves the trips out plus being in the garden.
My mum is well looked after at Oakdale. It is such a relief to know that she is safe. The staff are caring fully competent. They know how to deal with my mum when she is upset. Would recommend Oakdale to anyone looking for a care home for an elderly person with dementia.
Every-time ive visited my grandma, the staff are so exceptionally polite. They gave her a blanket when we went outside and speak so kindly and the bbq event was so fun! Cant forget the residential kitty
Mum has been at Oakdale for just over a year. Initially didn't like it. However has now settled and often tells us that she likes living in Oakdale. This is a credit to staff who have made mum felt cared for and supported. Has a good rapport with staff and is involved in most activities available to her. As a family we would recommend Oakdale.
Our Dad is currently staying at your facility. He initially came for a two-week respite, which we extended for an additional two weeks, and we are now confident that this will become a permanent arrangement. From his very first day, we have been incredibly impressed by how friendly and welcoming all the carers have been. Dad was made to feel like a part of the family, which is especially significant as he is normally quite reserved. Despite our visiting times being varied due to our work schedules, every time we visit, he seems happy and we love seeing him interact with other residents. This was a difficult decision for us as a family, but we can honestly say that we have definitely made the right choice.
From the moment I did my first visit , it felt right. The staff were especially friendly and great to see how kind they were to the residents. I talked to some residents and family members and they spoke very highly of whats provided. It was a heart rending decision to make but dad has settled in so well and his quality of life has improved immensely His room is lovely. He is well fed (being encouraged to have regular meals , drinks and snacks) which in return has improved his overall health as living at home we had virtually stopped eating. I feel at ease knowing he is well looked after and he is safe. Thank you to everyone associated with Oakdale care home.
My mum is currently staying at Oakdale care home on respite. Her stay has been extended due to her general health and I cannot thank the staff enough for their care and kindness for our mum and their flexibility with our situation. Mums accommodation is spotlessly clean along with all communal areas. There is always a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with all the residents and visitors. As a visitor I am made to feel welcome any time and to watch the staff with the resident they have a genuine affection and kind, patient attitude to all. I feel totally comfortable and reassured with my mum staying at Oakdale and highly recommend this establishment. Meal times are a joy to see! The food served is tasty, wholesome and plentiful. Oakdale have daily activities for residents, a visiting hairdresser, chiropodist, and GP if required. A sincere thank you to ALL the staff at Oakdale, YOURE WONDERFUL
Mum attends on a weekly basis for day care, she has also stayed at the home for respite. There is such a homely feel around and the residents are very well cared for, they look clean and tidy. Always plenty of food and drink and the staff are so kind towards everyone including families who come to visit. Well done to all the staff at Oakdale, you are all amazing!!!
Because I live a couple of hours away, I usually get to visit my mother around every two weeks Everytime I see her she always seems happy and content. I usually comment that she appears younger-looking every time I see her. The other occupants always appear to look well looked after also. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
My Mum has been a resident at Oakdale for the past 5.5 years. When she was taken to the home she was in very poor health but within the first 6 months she was transformed to her old self. This was entirely due to the care, attention and love given to her by the staff at Oakdale. Sadly she passed away recently but the staff made her very comfortable and made it possible to stay in the home until the end. I visited several care homes before choosing Oakdale, the deciding factors for me were the fabulous staff, the overall condition of the home and the wonderful grounds around the home. My mum really did think it was her own place and the other residents were her friends and family. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Oakdale.
My father suffers with Dementia and had taken to wandering out of his house at night and this was a concern which we had to act upon. Finding somewhere safe for a loved on to stay is a daunting task and very stressful. We visited Oakdale Care Home with a view to placing my Dad there as part of going round and looking at care homes near to where we live. Unlike others we had visited where you get a brief tour and ask a few Questions, the manager sat with myself and my wife for an hour telling us of all the benefits and answered all of our questions. We met several staff members during this time and also spoke to other residents and their family members. All of whom spoke very highly of this home. This is an amazing home and there is very much a feel of family for both residents and their family members.. The kindness and compassion we received was like nothing I had experienced or expected. This is an outstanding home and we feel very lucky to have found such a lovely place for my dad to stay.
Mum has dementia and after a week's stay in hospital because of her mobility, we had to decide to move her into a care home. Our first choice of home didn't work well for Mum but when we moved her to Oakdale it was clear to us that all the staff were friendly and caring and cared for the residents as people not numbers. The home has a homely atmosphere and I think the fish tank is a lovely extra for the residents to look at. Nothing has been too much for the management or staff, they are always happy to answer any questions and keep us informed. I live 3 hours away and am now happy and settled knowing that my mum is being cared for in the best possible way with compassion and love. We know here dementia is getting worse but it will be easier to accept the changes this will bring to Mum knowing she is being cared for in the right place. The meals always smell and look lovely and the rooms are nicely decorated with a homely feel.
My mother-in-law went into Oakdale at the beginning of September 2024. We had been recommended to this care home by a lot of people as the one for her to get the best care - she has dementia and they specialise in looking after residents with this condition. The care is absolutely exceptional, you can tell the carers working there love their jobs. On Friday we went to a cheese and wine evening which also had a singer. It was lovely seeing the residents enjoying themselves and everyone seemed so happy. My mother-in-law said to all of us 'I love being here' which says it all. Would highly recommend this care home 100 per cent. It may not have all the 'bells and whistles' that some care homes have but you have to look past that, as it should be about the care and I give this one 10 out of 10 for it.
