Applewood carehome will always keep in contact regarding my mother's care. It is so reassuring to know my mother is cared for by wonderful carers who always put her needs first. If they have any concerns she is seen by a doctor & I am always contacted so I know when the doctor has been & what was
prescribed.
Unfortunately my mother is bed bound now but when she was mobile she was always out & about enjoying the trips arranged by the home.

My parents have been residents in Applewood since the beginning of March 2026, following a helpful and informative visit and tour of the home, which was facilitated by Louise and Emma prior to my parents move. I chose Applewood based on my visits, information provided and on the friendly attitude of
all the staff I met at the time. It appears that moral is high and the home retains the full range of staff without the need to use agency staff.
Since the move, my parents have received full support and care from a friendly and attentive team of carers. I have been impressed by the level of communication from them, by phone, in person and by email.
I feel that the family have made the right decision for my parents and we are confident they will continue to receive all the care and support they need going forwards.
I would suggest that a more comprehensive brochure is provided by Milkwood outlining all the services available to the residents, for example, dentist and optician visit

Applewood is a wonderfully warm and efficiently run care home in a quiet location. But what makes it special is the management and staff who are always friendly and attentive.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Applewood.

The whole team at Applewood have been super supportive and instrumental to how well our Dad has adapted to being in a care home.
The care home itself is homely, very clean and very well managed. The garden is a lovely spot for visiting and there is always something going on for the residents.
Our Dad is very happy here and the management team have helped us ensure that he can stay in Applewood and close to his family and friends. I cannot thank Louise, Emma and team enough for going above and beyond for us all.
I would highly recommend Applewood and the team who look after the residents with such care and respect.

My mother has been living in Applewood carehome for almost 2 1/2 years now. The staff are always on hand to fulfill her needs & she is extremely well cared for. As my mother's dementia has worsened, they have adjusted her care plan to ensure that she is getting exactly what she needs, exactly
when she needs it. This must be extremely challenging as my mother cannot communicate very well.
Another thing that I'm really impressed by is the daily activities & entertainment. They literally have things going on every day.
I really cannot speak highly enough of the whole set up.

Applewood has a wonderful atmosphere, and my sister is settled, happy and safe.
Lots of activities taking place and the staff encourage residents to attend.
The staff are caring and will always contact and consult with me if needed..
I feel very content with the care she is getting and know she is
settled.

My mother has been very well cared for for the last 6 years. When she first became a resident she was very active and they encouraged her to participate in all the ectivities they organised. As her dementia worsened they adjusted her care and provided one to one care. The staff are very friendly
and caring and all get on very well together. They are inspired by a well motivated management team.

Excellent on every level.
The staff are happy and caring - I have complete confidence that my husband is safe and cared for.
There are always lots of activities and stimulating games, also visiting artists and interactive animal visits.
I am always made to feel welcome, the staff know
me by name.

My mother has additional needs in addition to dementia, and the staff at Applewood take excellent care of her emotional wellbeing as well as physical - cannot recommend Applewood highly enough! The sign on the wall says "we are visitors to your home" and this is a true representation of the levels
of care.

My husband has been a resident for almost 4 years and I am delighted with the care he receives. He is bedridden, & non verbal. The staff are wonderful with him making sure he is comfortable, given the respect that he deserves & especially excellent care. He is given lots of one on one time which I
can see he enjoys. He's able to view the entertainment that goes on within the home via a smart tablet.
The staff pay attention to small details that make a residents stay more like home from home. Staff are amazing all of them.

Applewood provided end of life care for my husband, he was admitted to Applewood with a progressive illness and throughout this difficult journey he was looked after with kindness and support. As a family we were also looked after with equal kindness and support. I really don't know how we as a
family could have navigated our journey without the support we received, we will be forever grateful. I should add communication between us as a family and Applewood was faultless, calls always answered promptly and I was always informed immediately of any concerns or worries. Thank you to everyone at Applewood, the staff work as a team and every member of staff contributed to his care and well being.

My husband was admitted to Applewood Care Home in November 2023 at the age of 86, suffering from dementia. After a difficult period of transition for my husband and the much improved understanding of his needs over time the care provided keeps him calm and well settled.
The staff are all very
friendly, working efficiently as a team providing a high standard of care. Over time his physical and mental condition have deteriorated steadily and the home has taken the necessary steps to adjust his care to avoid accidents and to provide appropriate stimulation. I'm very grateful for all the kindness and care my husband receives.

Applewood has consistently offered excellent care to my step brother, he has various needs. They treat him with care and respect, always with kindness. I am contacted and kept informed of anything pertaining to him. The staff are friendly, available to answer questions and concerns.

My Aunty has lived at Applewood since October 2019. As her needs have changed and condition deteriorated the staff have always adapted to her and still include her as much as possible with visits, activities etc.
Her dietary needs have also changed and this has been well managed.
The home has a
friendly and caring feel to it- speaking as a relative and a nurse I would highly recommend it. Thank you to all at Applewood.

My mum loves being here. The staff are fantastic I can't fault anyone. They're always friendly and it's nice to hear laughter (mum joins in). The activities are fun, which I usually join in with if I'm there at the time. I know Mum loves it when they go out in the minibus. It's a pity to hear about
the dining room ceiling falling in but hopefully, it'll be sorted out ready for their Christmas dinner.

I have always found the staff at Applewood friendly, caring and will do anything you ask of them. They are always approachable and communicate with us if there are any issues or just to keep us updated. My aunt feels safe at Applewood. I would recommend this care home.

My mother has been a resident for several years, through many stages of Alzheimer’s. The care throughout has been genuine, kind, professional and consistent. Our mother's needs have been met, whether it’s a day out, arts and crafts in one of the homely resident's lounges or in her own room one to
one. Decisions regarding Mum's care are empathetic, data-led and in collaboration with us, her family. It’s hard not being able to provide all the care at home, but now we can be the loved ones, enjoy time with our mother and not worry.

My mother has been at Applewood for over a year now and has settled in very well, and is always telling me how wonderful the care staff are. The activities are wonderful, events and days out, which she doesn’t always join in, but that’s her choice. If the staff have time they will do a one-to-one in
her room which she enjoys. I have always been greeted with caring and friendly staff who have supported me through the last year, any concerns I have are dealt with accordingly. I am kept well informed and I’m so glad I found Applewood. The only negatives I have is because mum will only eat in her room her food is sometimes cold and the laundry is a bit hit and miss. Overall a lovely caring home.

Very pleased with the service and care that Applewood give the patients. Cannot find any fault. Very happy with the whole situation of you caring for my husband. My husband is always very happy and content, which puts my mind at rest.

Applewood lives up to its name - "a care home" - the staff are attentive, passionate, and provide a calm sense of caring. Mum is always treated with respect and dignity ensuring she is happy and content. Applewood is kept clean and tidy with a homely feel. Although Mum can't take full advantage of
the numerous outings and activities, the staff ensure she is kept involved and engaged with as many as possible and always make time to keep her involved with what is going on. Well done, Applewood!
