View Full Details of Elizabeth Lodge Rest HomeA lovely very friendly care home where my mum enjoyed staying. Staff very caring and any worries they were there for support and help along the way. Food was nice and always available when needed as were drinks.
Recently my aunt has been placed at Elizabeth lodge.she went for a taster day and throughly enjoyed and did not want to come home. She has been there now for about 4 weeks and is really loving it. The staff go above and beyond and they keep the residents active with great games and interactive entertainment. There are a few issues that we are having with her integrating which I have been worrying about, however the staff have measured me it is nothing they have not already seen and not to worry. The food is lovely and she is looking more healthy and has had her hair and nails done . There is a good mix of ages of the staff. The place is so clean and smells like a house not a hospital this is their home so that is how it should be.
My aunt was at Elizabeth Lodge for the last years of her life. All the staff carers looked after her with real affection and kindness, though I am sure she was not the easiest of residents to cope with. When admitted I expected a short stay before her demise as her health was so poor. She actually continued with an improved quality of life for several years. It just shows what can be achieved with good care.
My dad moved to EL in late 2023 (i admittedly am a huge worrier and was very nervous about moving him to a care home) but from the second he arrived I was completely put at ease. Dad was made immediately welcome, as were we as a family. I visit regularly and we are always made to feel nothing is too much trouble. Dad is happy, well looked after, and he has a good rapport with all the carers. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
I would not hesitate to recommend Elizabeth Lodge Care Home to anyone who is looking to place a family member. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for the residents and visitors. They always have a smile on their faces, the food served is excellent and they also have great entertainment which my mum loves. The managers are very friendly and keep in touch with me on information about Mother's care. Mum's room is very nice and comfortable. I love that l can go and visit at any time of the day. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care of my mum. Thank you Lovely people at Elizabeth Lodge
Mum has lived at Elizabeth Lodge since October last year. The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble and mum has settled in well. I am always made to feel welcome as are any other family members and friends. Management and staff keep me informed of what is going on with mum and any forthcoming activities. I feel mum is safe and well looked after.
I am really pleased with how well my mother-in-law has settled into the home and how well she is looked after. Naturally quite shy, she has made friends since moving in, & interacts with others and participates in activities far more than I had ever thought likely, or even possible. Although her mobility has declined over the last year, she has been given a walker and a fall pendant to support her independence.. I have been very impressed by communication from the home (medical reviews/ requests for items she needs renewing or replacing/ etc). As a result of eating so well, my mother-in-law has put on weight & required new underwear, trousers and slippers! She has suffered some health issues over the last year & these have all been dealt with in exemplary fashion. I have every confidence in the manager: she is happy to be transparent with record keeping & has allowed us to check records (sleep/ medication logs/ etc), without any notification. I have found this immensely reassuring.
My father was placed at the home for three months before a gradual decline meant he had to be moved to a nursing home. In that time we built up an excellent rapport with the staff, frequently talking over Dad's needs and condition. Dad was excellently provided for with delicious meals that he was only too happy to finish. All the staff were easy to approach and speak to about Dad's progress. Activities were regular, with stimulating content and from what I witnessed many of the residents seem to really enjoy the variety. Anyone who gets a placement at the home will have fallen on their feet.
My mother was admitted to Elizabeth Lodge, at the age of 94, in May 2024, when it became clear that she was no longer capable of independent living. Her memory and cognition had deteriorated significantly over the previous year and she accepted that she needed round the clock care. We chose Elizabeth Lodge after viewing several care homes in the area and were impressed by the atmosphere, as well as the managers and carers. My mother settled in and she found friends among the other residents quickly. The carers are excellent - they are always positive and cheerful - and nothing ever appears to be too much trouble for them. The managers are always available to answer questions and answer any questions we might raise. While her mood may fluctuate as a consequence of her dementia, there is no doubt that she is far healthier and safer than would have been the case had she continued to live on her own. We are very happy that her psychological, social and physical needs are being met totally.
My mother, who has vascular dementia, went to Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home on the 18th of April 2023 for two weeks. It is the second time my mother has been in here and she was looked after very well. All my family that visited Mom up to the 27th of April 2023, when she came out, remarked to me how kindly they were all treated in visiting. She was always clean, well-dressed and very happy.
I am always welcomed at the door with a smile. The staff are warm and friendly and very attentive to all that live in the home. I feel that nothing is too much trouble they are always on hand for anyone's needs. It's a pleasure visiting the home.
I have struggled with the decision to put my mum in a home which was something she did not want but what a difference in her she is so happy. She came to the home in a very bad state having been in a 6 week placement and was so depressed and was recovering from Covid that made her seriously ill. Within 2 weeks she was happier and started to put on weight and a year on and she is a different person. The care is so good and they are treated like this is their home. If they want to stay in bed longer they can. Games is fun for them and I would like to thank the management, nursing staff, games staff etc a big thank you for looking after my mum so well. This is a first class home and if I could recommend it anymore I would. It’s a smaller care home where the care is exemplary.
My father moved into Elizabeth Lodge last year and has now been there for 6 months. From the moment he first moved in the care and welcome has been first class. All the staff are friendly and approachable and take a great pride in their work and show a genuine care for their residents. The home has a regular programme of visitors, providing for hairdressing and chiropody and external entertainment. The medical care has been very good with the home quickly responding to any changes to dad’s health and providing effective liaison with the Nurses Hub or doctor’s surgery when necessary. A phrase often used by staff is that this is the residents home, there are no restrictions on visits and overall it has a very homely feel. There is always plenty of home cooked food and the home is always very clean and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. Overall, my dad is very happy at Elizabeth Lodge and I along with my dad’s family are very pleased with the environment and care provided.
My father visited Elizabeth Lodge when my mother-in-law was a resident and made a passing comment that, were he ever to end up in a care home, he'd like to be somewhere like this. Be careful what you wish for; a few years later, when he became unable to live independently and suffering from some medical issuers - he moved in. The care has been exemplary. Not just the physical care but the friendly, personal interaction, the activities, and the trips out. The medical care was outstanding when he suffered complications of his existing medical issues and developed further ones. We were always confident that not only was he in safe hands but that he was receiving the best care. The ethos of the home that the home is the residents own is reflected in the socialisation, plentiful home-cooked meals and regular visits from opticians, hairdressers, chiropodists, singers and entertainers, and of course, the local district nurses. The home is kept immaculately clean, and nothing is too much trouble.
I have been visiting Elizabeth Lodge for about ten years. My father has been a resident for six years and is settled and happy. He is treated with dignity and respect and enjoys a good rapport with the staff. The atmosphere is that of a home with plenty of life, fun and activities in a safe environment.
Mum has been at Elizabeth Lodge for approx four years. During this time, her care has been professionally delivered with compassion and care. Agency staff are very rarely, if ever used, meaning that the staff have built a relationship with Mum and they understand her needs.
My Mum has been at Elizabeth Lodge since the end of October 2017 and really loves it. The staff has been really wonderful. Very caring and thoughtful. They have lots of activities, either in a group or one to one. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the meals are, which is good as Mum is always hungry. Mum loves all the girls and has good banter with them and makes them laugh. We, as a family, are very hay with her care and feel she is safe, secure, and happy. In this difficult time, they are doing everything they can to make sure we can keep in touch by phone, video calling, or through the window. Thank you so much girls.
My mum has just moved into the home and already it feels like she has been there for a long time. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I can't ask for a better care provider.
I chose Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home for my father mainly on first impressions. The first being the smile I received and the cleanliness of the home. The room my dad had was ensuite and very comfy. A very good menu was provided every day. The attention my dad received was very one on one which helped him immensely. At his passing, the management put extra staff so he was never alone until his death and hours that followed. I myself can only thank them and hope the if I needed somewhere, Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home would be for me.
This is an incredible nursing home for people with dementia. The love and care they give to clients is remarkable. Carers always find time to talk and engage with clients.
