View Full Details of Old Raven HouseLovely management and staff. Mum is enjoying her time being around people her own age. Doing crafts and dancing. Beautiful gardens to sit in the warmer weather. Lovely bright and colourful bedroom Thank you for making Mum feel at home.
My mum's bedroom window glass is smashed & it gets extremely cold in her bedroom. As the building she's in is listed, this is taking far too long 2get the glass replaced &so my mum just has to put up with freezing which is unacceptable! The staff that make tea & coffee also give residents biscuits with their cuppa & my mum is gluten free. The amount of times I've had2tell these people that she can't eat wheat is constant & I'm sick of it. They clearly don't understand the damage that giving my mum wheat products will cause her.The pain frm being given wheat is unbearable &crippling as I also know. Another issue I find is other people have been wearing her clothes(all her clothes are named)&so the laundry staff obviously aren't reading the residents clothes labels2check they go2 the correct resident. My mum has a tracker due2 escaping &when I have asked the manager and staff to charge this, it never gets done which is extremely important & frustrating considering my mum has escaped twice now.
My husband has been a full time resident for the last 18 months and although initially he was very anxious and distressed at being in a strange environment, the staff managed to settle him with their patience and kindness and he is now content and comfortable. This was a huge relief for me as it was an equally difficult time for me to see him in a care home after many years together. I have nothing but praise and appreciation for everyone who works there and who look after the residents so well and with such love and caring. Every member of staff takes the residents wellbeing as their number one priority.
I feel so relaxed about my husband being at the OR just knowing he is well cared for I can now enjoy his company as his wife not his career. The staff and management are so good at keeping me informed of his needs and care.
Mum moved to Old Raven in August 2022 having moved from Wiltshire. We couldn't have chosen a better home for Mum. The love, knowledge, expertise, dedication, and friendship were amazing. They looked after Mum, encouraged her, and supported her without fail for almost two years until sadly she passed away in June this year. They were professional to the end supporting the family and helping look after Mum on her way. Thank you, Old Raven. Forever grateful and in our hearts.
Old Raven House management and all staff give 100% each day in providing love and care for all of their residents, They are like one big family and are so attentive to everyone’s needs. They make it a happy environment to be in at all times. The entertainment is fantastic and the food always looks delicious. My husband has been staying there since last November and he always seems content and happy with the care he receives. I cannot rate this particular Care Home enough, it is truly amazing.
Old Raven House is an exceptionally warm and friendly home who generously care for their residents. They spend lots of time with them and bring a lot of joy and laughter to them each and every day. The food choice they offer is amazing and the special date nights with their families are spectacular. I honestly can say I would recommend Old Raven House to anyone looking for a brilliant care home.
My dad has resided at Old Raven for more than four years, and through thick and thin and Covid, through his deterioration, as a result of the Alzheimer’s disease from which he suffered, the team have demonstrated the most exceptional and loving care. Without them, his last few years would have been miserable (as it was in the months before we found this fantastic home), and our concerns would have doubled. I cannot recommend this lovely ‘family’ highly enough - they have become a part of ours.
The staff at Old Raven House have shown my father nothing but care, incredible kindness and love. They have preserved his dignity and have always been professional and thoughtful to my sister and me. They have always found time to listen and inform us of any changes or issues with our father's care.
My mother became a resident at Old Raven House Care Home in September 2022 after being in hospital for seven weeks. She settled very well due to the kindness and love and attention she receives there. There are a lot of fun activities which we can join in with whilst we are visiting too. We recently attended an event with chickens, ducks and guinea pigs etc. Plus a dine with your resident evening which was so lovely. There are family meetings, emails and the manager is always available to speak to. All the staff are really lovely. Mum is so happy there.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Old Raven House Care Home now since September 2022. She is extremely happy there and due to the staff kindness, she has settled really well. She has a lovely room overlooking a garden area with her own bathroom. She has made friends and there are a lot of activities to keep her occupied. The food is excellent quality and she is eating more than she has done so in a very long time.
My dad stayed at Old Raven House for a week's respite. This was the first time Dad had been in respite and we were really anxious about leaving him in a new and different environment. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and offered us well needed reassurance. Dad had the time of his life, the staff were kind and caring, they encouraged Dad to take part in all the activities, Dad enjoyed his meals, slept well, drunk enough in the heat, and appeared to be happy and settled. This has opened up a new chapter for Mum who now has an amazing home for Dad to stay in when she needs some time to herself without having to worry. Thank you so much to all the staff, you are all amazing.
Many thanks to all at Old Raven House for their love and care for my parents during their time with them, and for their support for all the family in their last days. Although it was hard not being with them as much as we would have liked to in the past 2 years, we felt confident that they were in a safe and happy place with their other family. We could not have asked for more.
I spent a long time researching a home for my mum when she succumbed to dementia. I can honestly say Old Raven House were the best by a country mile. Such a warm, friendly, welcoming place it was immediately obvious to me that Mum had found her new home. All of the staff are absolutely amazing in their loving yet professional way they look after their residents, not for nothing is it called a Care Hotel. Mum passed away in April and I am absolutely certain the 5 years she spent at Old Raven House could well have been the happiest years of her life...
All the staff I have met at Old Raven are kind and caring. They encourage the residents to join in activities and have fun. My aunt loves it and I wouldn't want her to be moved to another residential home. It is well managed.
Very happy with the care my mother is receiving at Old Raven, especially during this lockdown. The staff are taking all precautions during this difficult time to ensure all residents are safe, and I feel confident that all residents are well looked after.
My mother had been a guest at Old Raven House for 5-years. During that time, she was extremely well looked after and bonded well with the staff. She was constantly occupied and encouraged to join in, not it seems that she needed much encouragement. During her passing away, they took great care of her and were very helpful after her death. We have nothing but praise for Old Raven House.
My mother-in-law resides at the Old Raven Care Hotel and I can honestly say it is lovely; where she gets good care and where she is very comfortable. Staff are always helpful and cheery and even as a visitor, both my family and myself also feel welcomed. The home always tries their best to organise enjoyable events for the residents and to keep them occupied on their own terms and they can freely walk around their home and lovely garden, whilst still being kept safe, which is also great. During this difficult time of the Covid-19 outbreak, I feel the management and staff have worked even harder to ensure the safety of their residents, but they are still cheerful and as helpful as ever, when contacted about family members. The rooms are all homely and I know the food is great, as over the time my mother-in-law has resided at Old Raven, I have often popped in to sit with her and her friends at mealtimes. Keep up the great work and thank you!
The care given to my own mother has been brilliant. When we visit I can see that all the residents are clean and well cared for. All the rooms have a lovely fresh smell and the food always looks lovely.
Our mother was a resident of The Old Raven Care home for 8 years and during this time she received excellent care and support from the staff. The building itself is very attractive, having a very homely feel and the gardens surrounding the building are beautiful all year round. Inside the layout is probably quite unconventional for a care home, as residents and visitors can wander through the staff room but this meant that staff were always approachable. We really appreciated the continuity of staff and several became firm favourites of our mother. Over the years we came to know the majority of the staff and there was always a friendly atmosphere in the house. Visitors were always made welcome. In the last few years, there has been an emphasis on craft, activities and outings which our mother enjoyed when she was well enough to participate. We'd like to thank the owner, manager and the team for all their kindness over the years and let them know their hard work is appreciated.
