I would like to say how brilliant Stroud House is. Lovely and homely, lots of activities and outings, also very friendly, you get a lovely welcome, my sister sometimes waits for me at the door with a smile. I'm so pleased she is in Stroud House.
The Stroud House staff have been caring for my father since he was diagnosed with dementia and we were advised by health professionals that he would need residential care. The management and staff at Stroud House are caring and helpful and are always quick to inform family of any care needs or issues as they arise. They are always very happy to provide updates on-ongoing care which is very comforting for the family. Stroud House has its roots as a family run business and still maintains that feel with its friendly and caring atmosphere.
My mother was offered a place at Stroud House following a prolonged hospital stay with dementia. My first impression was, that the home was 'a little tired'. Since mum has been at Stroud House (April '25) a significant amount of upgrading has been completed, this has been undertaken with the least amount of disturbance to the residents & day to day running of the home. It, along with, the garden look great. The staff are incredible, so caring, it is obvious that they take the time to learn as much as possible about residents, which leads to residents being involved in activities that they enjoy, but the team does encourage residents to try & hopefully enjoy all activities, as "every day is different" Stroud House is very well led, the enthusiasm demonstrated by management filters down through the whole team. Stroud House describe themselves as a 'family' and truly this is evident in all they do, relatives can be actively involved in all activities. My mum is thriving at Stroud House
I can't recommend Stroud House enough. Mum was always resistant to going into care but her needs were becoming more challenging and dad wasn't well enough to continue caring for her. Stroud House were supportive and welcoming right from the start and eventually, with patience and understanding from Sam and her team, mum settled into her new home. There have been ups and downs along the way with mums health and needs, but the staff have always been quick to respond and always keep me informed. The home has recently undergone a refresh of decor and it's a lovely, welcoming space for the residents and their visitors. There are lots of activities provided, and opportunities to get out and about and families are always welcome to join in. All the staff welcome us by name, with lovely smiles and offers of tea or coffee which is always nice, especially as mum and I used to enjoy going for coffee and cake together.
I never ceased to be amazed at the excellent care and dedication the staff have at Stroud House. It isn't just with the residents, but with all the friends and relatives who visit from time to time.
My mother moved to Stroud House mid-July and I've been pleasantly surprised at how well she has settled. She really was resistant to the move from her own home, but her dementia was getting worse and she wasn't looking after herself properly. The staff have been very caring and kind with her and Mum says she is very well looked after and enjoys the activities and the meals. It's such a relief to know someone is there for her at all times.
Very good experience.
All very very good. Mum happy!
I continue to be incredibly impressed by the activities and attention to detail that is provided in the care for the residents of Stroud House. It's wonderful to see all the residents engaged in such a full activities programme, creating new memories and continuing to maintain cognitive and physical functions. My Father is thriving, being overseas it is lovely to see everyone's antics on their social media feeds. The staff go above and beyond for residents and their families.
A small homely dementia care home with a great atmosphere that treats its residents with care and affection. The management is very dynamic, putting on events, like the August 1st summer fare and has regular musicians and others visiting to entertain the residents. Visiting family members are always warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate in events. The house was recently renovated, particularly in the communal areas and looks great. This communal area looks out onto a well-tended garden that is particularly nice in spring and summer. We feel lucky to have managed to get a place at Stroud House, which is very convenient for one of our siblings that lives in Petersfield.
My Mum went in to Stroud House in February and has settled really well with the help and kindness of all the staff. The home has undergone recent renovation work and still more to come, which I have to say looks amazing and very homely and welcoming. This home always feels warm and welcoming and very smart now. The gardens are beautiful and it is so nice to be able to sit outside with family
I feel it would be difficult to find a more genuinely caring Home for my mother. The management and staff go above and beyond to create a comfortable and safe homely environment for their residents. They organise activities and events to occupy and stimulate everyone, including very successful musical acts who are enjoyed by everyone. Family members are made to feel welcome and are invited to join in when they can, which adds to the feeling of a homely atmosphere. Recent attractive redecoration with new furnishings, with access to the garden which has also undergone recent improvements, all add to a calm and pleasant environment for all. The care and attention is much appreciated and I wouldn't want my mother anywhere else.
From the very first meeting when staff came to assess my wife at home, the experience has been fantastic. Within a week, my wife had moved into Stroud House and the care she has received has been truly outstanding she has settled in marvelously thanks to an incredible team. They are excellent, very professional and compassionate but go above and beyond always. The staff are attentive, kind to residents needs. They support my wife and myself making us feel part of S House. The chef does an excellent job, we feel incredibly lucky knowing she is safe and well cared for. Thank you all, you are amazing.

Nanny is so well looked after and very happy here. The staff are so caring and friendly. I would recommend Stroud House to anyone.
We are so pleased with how happy Mum is here, then is always something going on, she loves the entertainment, particularly the singers. Thank you Stroud House for looking after her so well.
My mother-in-law moved into Stroud House in January 2025 due to a decline in her dementia and I'm happy to say she's now in the right place. The staff are so kind, caring and patient. She has received lots of one-to-one care to help settle her in and I've never seen her happier. She seems to be doing something different every day, be it, dancing, crafts, and visits out and about which is amazing. The carers do an amazing job helping to navigate these vulnerable people through such a confusing time.
Mum went into care in early January after a stay in hospital. The transition Stroud House performed was nothing short of a miracle! Mum suffers very badly with anxiety issues so it was a real worry as to how this would pan out. In a very short space of time, she seems to be settling in her "new home". The staff are, attentive, professional and accommodating, to both the residents, and the families, my mind has been put at rest that Mum is safe and well cared for. Sam, the manager has gone out of her way to reassure both myself and Mum. Another positive of Stroud House is the amount of activities for the residents, never a dull moment with everything from Burns night bagpipes to country walks. Stroud House has made a difficult family time, a lot more Human. Thank you.
We visited a very old friend who had only quite recently started her life at Stroud House. It was the first time we had been there and we went to have lunch with her on her birthday. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and we had a good lunch at a table they had kindly set up for us in a place where we could have a pleasant uninterrupted chat. There was a birthday banner and balloons. The place seemed spotlessly clean, with a happy atmosphere and plenty of staff. We were re-assured that our friend was being well looked after and with lots going on, enjoying a stimulating time.
