View Full Details of Woodlands Residential Care HomeMy aunt has been living at Woodlands Care Home for a year now, and she couldn't be happier. The staff are wonderfully caring and treat everyone like family, relatives included. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and their warmth really shines through. There's always a wide variety of activities and outings, which so many residents truly enjoy. The beautifully maintained gardens also bring a lot of joy to everyone. Woodlands provides not just care, but a genuine sense of community and home. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful home.
My mother has been a resident at Woodlands for 3 years now. Throughout her time there she has been very happy about the care she receives from everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are there at a push of her button. At 102 yrs now she is more frail causing her care to be readjusted and more closely monitored which the management have dealt with superbly. All the family feel very happy to have found this care home for her.
All the staff at Woodlands are very caring, approachable, friendly and supportive to us and our mother. We know that she is safe; her wellbeing and daily care are exceptional. They ensure she, along with all the other residents, has regular outings and, along with mental stimulation, etc on a daily basis. We as a family have regular updates on how she is doing, and they are extremely approachable if we have any concerns or wish to have a discussion. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I am very impressed with the care and attention to detail my aunt has received since recently moving to Woodlands. They made her feel very welcome on her arrival, listening carefully to her preferences and since then have been extremely helpful. They have also been very good at organising an early GP review and giving my aunt several opportunities to go out on trips which she has enjoyed.
The staff are very caring and approachable when guidance/help is needed. The safety/security section was graded satisfactory due to a couple of nighttime instances with 2 different residents entering my mother's bedroom during the night, causing distress. The rooms are overall good, but could do with plumper pillows on the bed.
I couldn't be happier with the care my parents receive from all the staff at Woodlands. Nothing is too much trouble! The staff are all very attentive, friendly and caring. Residents, relatives and friends alike, are all made to feel extremely welcome. There is a very cheerful atmosphere at Woodlands and there are beautiful gardens to have a wander round, with seating dotted around if you fancy a rest under a shady tree. Lots of activities, chair exercises, go on during the day to keep minds and bodies active too. Food is lovely, they do BBQ's and afternoon teas as well. They have singers and entertainment and outings too. It really is an exceptional place. My parents are very happy there and I'm glad they are somewhere safe and all their needs are catered to by an extremely professional and caring team. Thank you all at Woodlands!
My wife (daughter of resident) and I are visiting from Australia for 6 weeks and are, and have been made extremely welcome each time we visit. The staff are friendly and always eager to help.
I am visiting from Australia for six weeks. All staff have made me feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and am always greeted with a smile.
We are exceptionally happy with Mum's care at Woodlands. The staff go over and above in their care and kindness. Woodlands has a homely feel, and the staff are warm and friendly to residents and to the families who visit. I feel very lucky to have found Woodlands, and mum has improved since her arrival here 2 1/5 years ago.
Warm, friendly welcome l asked for somewhere we could go and sit quietly as this was my first visit to the home, we were shown to a very nice quiet room so l could talk with my sister who hearing difficulties hearing with noise and lots going on around her. We had been invited that afternoon to a entertainment afternoon which was very nicely presented, only problem not enough chairs had not been put out, noted food was very nice but had been put out into a very open sunny spot, needed shading as cream and cakes were in full sunlight. The garden was beautiful full of colour l could see a lot work evolved .
You cannot improve on perfection. It is one of the best I have been in (I have visited quite a lot and I used to have a pet as a therapy dog/dogs) for 21 years. They were caring, friendly and my dear friend who is there is so very happy. She looks so well since she has been in Woodlands. The facilities are amazing, the food delicious (so my friend says she and I are vegetarian).
The quality of care was fantastic!. The staff and care team provide incredible bespoke care to an individual providing genuine empathy and interest in the resident no matter what their situation or needs. The whole team are incredibly welcoming to all visitors and go out of their way to support any needs where possible. My father found a second home and family within Woodlands and we can thank them enough for everything they have did for him! Thank you to all.
The staff at Woodlands continue to provide gold standard care for my dad who has been a resident there for the past 7 months. Dad loves all the trips and activities that are on offer and the enrichment they provide give him the opportunity to socialise and feel part of the wider community. The staff are attentive to all dad's needs and communication effectively with family members about his wellbeing and health. Woodlands is very 'resident focused', there I always something going on and in the words of my dad ' the staff are always there to help and they can't do enough for you'.
Whenever we visit our friend, there is always a warm and helpful reception. The staff look after the residents as if it was someone much loved in their family. There is care reflected everywhere. Garden comfort for residents and visitors, activities such as PAT drop and outside visits. Well done! (Have only ticked ones I can comment on!)
This home has done a great job of settling in Mum, who moved all the way from Cornwall to be nearer her family. It has a lovely atmosphere, and nothing is too much for the staff, very accommodating. Thank you to you all.
We were anxious about transitioning Mum to live at Woodlands. However, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive - no negatives AT ALL!! The litmus test was Mum herself who literally bloomed from day one at Woodlands. She has expressed no wish to return to her own home, which is a great surprise to us. All of her needs are met so caringly - our family have been impressed by quite how much all the staff care about their job and each and every resident. The food is nutritious and delicious; the trips are great fun and Mum ( who would not leave her home before) has been on nearly all of them!!! The staff member who organises the FANTASTIC entertainment, is an absolute joy and this rubs off on all the residents. Anyone considering sending an elderly relative to Woodlands should have absolute confidence that Woodlands brings quality and positivity to the latter years. THANK YOU SO much to the wonderful team at Woodlands
My sister-in-law has lived here for a year. We are a close family & when I visit the UK, I always visit for asd long as I can! The staff make you welcome & the atmosphere is very welcoming too. I know she is safe, well taken care of and never feels cold or just another body to be looked at. Thank you for being here! I'll be back next year to say hello & thanks for all you & the staff who work very hard to make sure the residents are safe.
I'm always struck by the friendliness and "can do" attitude of the staff. The staff at every level are welcoming and kind. I'm kept well informed about the welfare of my mother and have no doubt whatsoever that she is in the best environment for her stage in life.
Mum has been a resident of Woodlands for a number of years. We have always been more than satisfied with the excellent care she has received. Mum's care needs have changed gradually over the years and her care plan has always been carefully tailored to meet these needs. Staff are friendly and courteous, treating family and residents with respect and empathy. I would strongly recommend Woodlands to anyone looking for care for their relative.
Woodlands has been the home for my 95-year-old father for 2 years now. He suffers from some vascular dementia. In that time I have found that the genuine care and love of the Woodlands team for my father has alleviated his anxiety greatly, and has kept him in good health for all of that time. Any health issues that do occur, (and at 95 they do occur) are dealt with fast professionally and creatively. They have a "can do" attitude at Woodlands. Not only do I trust them completely with my Father's care, but I would trust them with my own should it come to that. Great care homes do exist- they just don't get in the media. Thank you Woodlands.
