Trained carers provide 24-hour care and support for the residents, helping to support them in their chosen lifestyle choices and care needs. Residents' dignity and independence are respected at all times. There is a full activities and social programme for residents to participate and enjoy.
Outside, the home has large scenic gardens with a sheltered courtyard in the centre and an active gardening club. Elsewhere, there are level lawns, fish ponds and woodland with its own bluebell glade, all accessible by flat wheelchair friendly paths.
The residents are at the heart of the home, helping the chefs choose the menus and creating the activities programmes with the activities coordinator. Woodlands is a happy home, where the residents' happiness and welfare come first.

Each week is full of activities and events. The gardens are beautifully kept and for us it is more of a feeling of not visiting Mum in a care home but visiting Mum at home.

It's a huge decision and one now which we are so glad that we made. The staff are unbelievably caring and attentive to her needs. She has truly come back to life, getting involved with the activities, mixing with other residents and generally seeming better in herself. She celebrated her 97th birthday in care recently which was a joy to see. We have visited when woodlands have bbq's and cream-teas which has been wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend. We experienced kindness and warmth from all staff at all levels. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were accessible at all times. Knowing that mum was safe and well looked after was a huge relief after a lengthy hospital stay. Dad was made to feel very welcome from his visit to mum, this enabled him to spend valuable time with her in the privacy of her room, with regular cups of tea! Mum didn't always take part in activities but they certainly seemed all inclusive and engaging!

From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed, every member of staff keen to chat and enquire, you feel part of the Woodlands family. A cup of tea offered as you sign in..luxury! Their ethos is a home from home, and it certainly lives up to that, in many ways providing that extra care that we as a family could not keep up with. If you've ever encountered caring for an elderly loved one you will understand the "ups and downs" cycle, well all I can say is my Mum is thriving at Woodlands both physically and mentally ( which we all know are as important as each other). Physically through the care and attention the staff provide, and mentally through the company and stimulation from the staff and the activity programme. Many times when visiting Mums room a staff member is deep in conversation with her, laughing!

Christmas lunch was lovely, it was good to be able to spend Christmas day there, with my parents as mum's mobility is not good. However I'm sad to hear that, apparently we will not be able to do this in the future, (the only complaint I have)

Dad was very proud of his beautiful room with patio doors opening onto the glorious gardens. He would often tell visitors that Woodlands was the place to be, saying it's so homely and cosy. There are lots of activities on offer. Dad particularly enjoyed the musical events. He also loved going on outings for coffee and cake and to the pub. He often talked about having a good old singsong on the minibus! Sadly, my dad now requires nursing care and recently moved from Woodlands. However, knowing that he was going to one of the group's nursing homes made the transition so much easier. I would like to say a huge thank to everyone at Woodlands for making my dad's stay such a happy one. Our family is so glad we found you.
