Woodlands is a thirty-nine bedroom residential care home with an excellent reputation in the Fleet community for the consistently high standards of elderly care it achieves. The home was rated as 'Outstanding' by the CQC in April 2021. All the team are permanent, agency staff are never used ensuring strong personal relationships are formed between residents and team.

Trained carers provide 24-hour care and support for the residents, helping to support them in their chosen lifestyle choices and care needs. Residents' dignity and independence are respected at all times. There is a full activities and social programme for residents to participate and enjoy.

Outside, the home has large scenic gardens with a sheltered courtyard in the centre and an active gardening club. Elsewhere, there are level lawns, fish ponds and woodland with its own bluebell glade, all accessible by flat wheelchair friendly paths.

The residents are at the heart of the home, helping the chefs choose the menus and creating the activities programmes with the activities coordinator. Woodlands is a happy home, where the residents' happiness and welfare come first.

It will be 3 years in August that my parents have been at Woodlands, as I said last year, I couldn't be happier that they are residing here. Outstanding, caring & friendly staff, beautiful gardens to stroll around or sit in. Many activities & outings to entertain the residents, they always make sure
everyone joins in too.
I've joined my parents for lunch & the food is great!

Christmas lunch was lovely, it was good to be able to spend Christmas day there, with my parents as mum's mobility is not good. However I'm sad to hear that, apparently we will not be able to do this in the future, (the only complaint I have)

Thank you once again to all the hard working staff!
L.J.

I visit a lady who has been a friend of my mother for over 50 years. Whenever we visit, we always receive a warm welcome from all your friendly staff. Everyone is always so kind, caring and helpful every time we pop in. We particularly like seeing the animals that visit, and they are obviously loved
by all the residents, including our friend.

All the staff have been great at looking after Mum in the last 5 months, and also in supporting her family when needed. Mum is engaged in lots of activities during the day and loves the gardens. She loves the food. We are provided with good, meaningful updates and love getting the newsletter each week.
I would recommend.

My mum has now been a resident at woodlands for nearly a year now. Mum always seems happy & content. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff look after her so well & always greet you with a smile. Mum joins in with the activities & enjoys going out for trips. It is lovely to receive news
letters & be able to see mum enjoying herself as I cannot get to visit as often as I would like. It is wonderful to see that mum is so well looked after. Donna is always welcoming & cheerful as the first face to see. We couldn't have asked for better, safer place for our mum.

My brother has been a resident at Woodlands for the past two and a half years. My decision to choose this home has proved to be the correct one for a number of reasons. From the warm and friendly welcome everyone gets when visiting to seeing how well cared for my brother is, gives me peace of mind.
My brother is happy and content and enjoys the various activities that take place every day. All this is only made possible because of the wonderful staff that work here.

Mum was a resident until her passing in January 2026. She was well cared for and happy at Woodlands. There were many activities she could join in with but she really enjoyed doing flower arranging. The staff were kind and friendly and always helpful. I would like to thank all for the kindness shown
to myself and sister and mum in her last days.

Kevin and I were visiting my mum and stepfather from Australia for fifteen days. We were at Woodlands every day and found the staff were very welcoming and friendly. This was our third long-stay visit since mum has been a resident. We have come to know the staff well and appreciate their ongoing care.
It was obvious to us mum is happy and well cared for. Julia and Kevin

Woodlands was my dad's home for 17 months. It's a wonderful home where the care is outstanding. The staff are so kind and respectful, and nothing is too much trouble. Visitors are always made to feel so welcome. You really feel part of The Woodlands family.
Dad was very proud of his beautiful room
with patio doors opening onto the glorious gardens. He would often tell visitors that Woodlands was the place to be, saying it's so homely and cosy. There are lots of activities on offer. Dad particularly enjoyed the musical events. He also loved going on outings for coffee and cake and to the pub. He often talked about having a good old singsong on the minibus! Sadly, my dad now requires nursing care and recently moved from Woodlands. However, knowing that he was going to one of the group's nursing homes made the transition so much easier. I would like to say a huge thank to everyone at Woodlands for making my dad's stay such a happy one. Our family is so glad we found you.
Reply from Hannah Webb, HR & Finance Advisor at Woodlands Residential Care HomeThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. It was a privilege to care for your dad and we're pleased to hear that he felt happy and comfortable in the home; he is part of the Woodlands family. It was fantastic to see him participate fully in our fun and varied activities and outings.

We wish your dad all the best in his new home, and so pleased that he is still part of the Woodlands & Hillbrow community, we hope we were able to support the transition to ensure the move was a smooth as possible for dad and the family.

My dad lived at Woodlands Residential Care Home for two months, and I honestly can't fault them. From the moment he arrived, the care, kindness and respect shown to him and to us as a family was outstanding.
The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely caring. Nothing ever felt rushed or impersonal;
they took the time to get to know my dad and treated him with dignity at all times. Communication was excellent, and we always felt informed and reassured.
The home itself was clean, comfortable and welcoming, and there was a real sense of calm and compassion throughout. It truly felt like a safe and caring place.
We were absolutely gutted that my dad had to leave, but that was only because his needs changed and he required nursing care rather than residential, not because of anything lacking at Woodlands. If his needs hadn't changed, we would have wanted him to stay there without hesitation.
Thank you to all the staff at Woodlands for everything you did for my dad xxx

I would like to personally thank all the staff at Woodlands for the fantastic care and attention shown to my late mother. Initially she went to Woodlands on a respite basis but soon realised that she would like to be a full time resident. Residential care is always a difficult decision to make but knowing
that she was cared for 24/7 was a huge relief and piece of mind for all her family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodlands as a place of outstanding care. All the reviews embody how we all feel about Woodlands.

My nan attends woodlands care home in church crookham & all round could not be happier . As residents they are so well cared for & looked after, the staff are very patient and kind . It's given her back a social life & also given us as a family such a peace of mind knowing she is safe and looked after
while we can't be there .
A special mention to the amazing Donna on reception, who made sure my nan & all of us were welcomed from the very first time we entered the doors.
Debbie does a fantastic job at manager & has done for many years. Her care for the residents & care for how the home is run is evident. How happy the staff working there seems also speak volumes

Well what can I say my parents have now been living at Woodlands for 2 years and have had the best care and attention. The staff are so lovely and caring and do everything to make life easier. Dementia is a terrible disease and with both parents living with it I cannot think of a better place for them

My mother has been a resident at Woodlands for 3 years now. Throughout her time there she has been very happy about the care she receives from everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are there at a push of her button. At 102 yrs now she is more frail causing her care to be readjusted
and more closely monitored which the management have dealt with superbly. All the family feel very happy to have found this care home for her.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.872)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.872) out of 10 for Woodlands Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 52 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.872 for Woodlands Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (539 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 610 Ratings = 4.872
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Residential Care Home is based on 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 52 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My role is incredibly rewarding. I am part of a massive life changing decision that is incredibly personal and needs to be made with confidence. I think of myself as a guide for families and individuals during this new chapter of their life.

I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.
